Title: Tricking
Description: and other acrobatic type stuff

So yeah, there's tricking...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyo80IvIeMMI classify tricking into several different categories...
Traditional - people like Remi Bakkar. Not so many butterfly twists and 720s and such. Though some might incorporate those into their routines.
Martial arts - Steve Terada, Sesshomaru, that one team from Canada... Lots of twisting. Use of kicks is plenty. Explosive speed and power.
Mixed - Joe Eigo. So far, he's one of the few that belong in this category. He does a little of everything. Greatness.
I prefer the mixed category.
Capoeira influenced some of the stuff seen in martial arts tricking. I myself prefer capoeira over traditional and martial arts tricking. It seems more graceful.

Just breakdancing, martial arts, and kicking tricks?
I was waiting for some PenSpinning, but well.. Nice video. I enjoyed. I like those breakdancing tricks, very hard, but impressive ones.
FallenSeraph - April 30, 2007 05:47 AM (GMT)
i was definitely digging the twisting.
oh and i so want to learn to tumble....
vicgotgame1 - April 30, 2007 07:25 AM (GMT)
That has been one one of my favorite vidz for some time now and i still love it. I am a trickster myself and it is as fun and challenging as penspinning. Im not to good at the kicks but i can twist and flip (8 year powertumbler) with ease. Its fun to learn tricks just not getting hurt is the hard part. <_<

JMember - April 30, 2007 03:58 PM (GMT)

Hell yeah that was cool! I love it when it is fused with parkour(free running). I saw James Mark, team Yamakazi is crazy!
I'm still trying to learn to wall flip and a standing backflip, Voltaire was suppose to teach me.....
ShortAssassin - May 1, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
If I could run up a walla nd backflip I'd be happy. I hear its not to difficult, its just getting over the fear of doing it.
And yeah, B-Boy Junior is insane. For anyone who hasn't seen that full vid thats sampled in Eso's link:

yes, i can B-twist pretty well. You might want to practice butterflys first until you get the rotation feeling of the trick. If you going straight for the B-twist remember to kick your back leg UP when you do the butterfly and wait till ur in the air to twist. There are a few tuts out there that really help. :)

Here's a cool vid of Crazy Asian, I think you could put him in the Mixed Category though leaning more to martial arts.

How important is it keep your legs straight in the air for the btwist? Mine always seem to be bent a bit. I've landed one good one where I landed on my feet with my upper body bent forward, usually though i'll land on one foot/one knee, both knees, or crouched down all the way. Do you have any tips for getting more power in the jump/run up?
Kaze - May 9, 2007 01:06 AM (GMT)
@Flip:From my knowledge, on a btwist, your legs are allowed to be bent, but not by a major degree. Usually how I get power for jumps is not to hop into it and just dip then rise.
vicgotgame1 - May 9, 2007 01:25 AM (GMT)
The best way for me to get power is kicking the non stepping leg up high when yu come up from ur dip. Kicking that leg up and jumping at the same time will get you alot of power and height. :)
