Title: Shortest Time

MRavioli - April 30, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
What was the Shortest and longest Time it took you to learn a trick name it and say the apporixmate time

Twisted Sonic Rise: Less than 10 Minutes
Thumbaround normal: a month as it was my first trick

ShortAssassin - April 30, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
Wow a twisted rise in 10 minutes? I find that hard to beleive :). Maybe it's just me but it's taking me a while to get twisted 34 smooth.

FallenSeraph - April 30, 2007 11:05 PM (GMT)
errr its not that hard to believe.
it took me first try to learn tw sonic. then again i had been doing charges for lik 2yrs b4 starting ps, so i had a strong background.
most of the other charge pass variations also came really easily. at least the ones with normal charge. rev charge pwns me...

lefty101 - April 30, 2007 11:17 PM (GMT)
charge 3 weeks

TA and Sonic in 30 min

NF Alex - April 30, 2007 11:49 PM (GMT)
Pass: 2 seconds

Charge Reverse: 5 months

K4S - April 30, 2007 11:51 PM (GMT)
i learned a slow and choppy bakfall in about 2 days lol -_-

Working on a smooth fingerpass...2 months and going....

firebird - May 1, 2007 12:24 AM (GMT)
LOL I remember this thread at UPSB. Just search "perhaps there is no negative time" and you'll find it.

Btw, pass, wiper, etc. are the fastest tricks to learn because you already know how to do them before you even attempt them.

the reason it took me so little time is that the tw sonic requires a charge-esque movement of the fingers and the first trick i ever learned was the charge and i've mastered it, it pissed my history teacher off when i was doing it in class.

ShortAssassin - May 1, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
Lol, my english teacher finds pen spinning funny. Me and my friend sit next to each other and spin during class and occasionally she'll just start laughing when she looks at us.

JMember - May 1, 2007 12:58 AM (GMT)
She´s ingnorant, I would just not pay attention on her and concentrate on pen spinning. Well, almost everyone "in my class" dont laugh at me, instead, they say "Hey, how you do that?", and some want to learn more tricks from what they know. And, about all, none of my teachers takes a single look when I pen spin.

If I were her, I wouldn't feel much different. It's my World of Warcraft Theory. "If you talk about anything nerdy and not acknowledged by the general public you will most likely be subject to derision or attention."

Twisted Sonic and Infinity took me less than 4 minutes. And you know, the easiest one, everyone gets it at first try, Snap Flip.

sketching - May 1, 2007 04:23 AM (GMT)
I learned Halftap in like...3 seconds.

kasra12321 - May 1, 2007 05:08 AM (GMT)
Fastest trick. The drop. I got it in my first try.

Eriror - May 1, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
Infinity, 10 minutes
HalfTap, 5 months. B)

Katto d(^.^)z - May 1, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)

Ivan the Terrible - May 1, 2007 07:15 AM (GMT)
Halftap - 1 minute
TA Rev. - 5 months

Sfsr - May 1, 2007 10:08 AM (GMT)
Charge - the instant i realized how the trick was performed
NeoBackFall - 5 Months?
Rev Charge - Still not learned >_>

Beng - May 1, 2007 12:05 PM (GMT)
i dont sit down just to learn tricks

sometimes when im spinning somewhere (school or whatever) and i want to do somethin new...i just try it...so i dont know

lol eriror...5 months for a halftap?!

that trick is even easier than a pass

RippDrive - May 1, 2007 03:42 PM (GMT)
Fastest trick I probably learned in relation to all the others and how long it takes most people to learn was probably the weis backaround. I learned it in one afternoon and had it pretty damn good after just a week.

Eso - May 1, 2007 03:48 PM (GMT)
Pass 12-23 : 2 seconds
Thumbflap charge rev : 1 minute
Sonic 23-12 : 15 minutes

Everything else took me anywhere ranging from a day to half a year.

Bakfall - 6 months

Bobr - May 1, 2007 04:11 PM (GMT)
pass 23-12 - 1 sec
fingerpass (like Bonkura or Eriror doing) 1.5 yeard to make it smooth and fast
BackAround normal - 2-3 month

Zombo - May 1, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
indexspin multiple - 0 minutes (WAs already well conceptualized in my mind)
Charge ~ 3 years.

xHamor - May 1, 2007 06:59 PM (GMT)
Longest time: Backaround, I practised like hell in 1-2 week. Then I went over to indexaround for a weekend, and after that, I could do the backaround :/

Shortest time: Twisted sonic. I thought twisted sonic was charge >> pass 23-12. Then I saw this video with a real twisted sonic. I made it on like the first try.

uglymoose89 - May 2, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
Not counting the passes or wipers,
Infinity in ~3 minutes
Wes Bak ~1 week
Bak Fall ~2 months and still counting..... <_<

Dr1v37h38u5 - May 2, 2007 12:35 AM (GMT)
not counting passes/wipers,
i learned inverse sonic in about 4 tries.

working on smoothing out my bakfall. no, it's not a complete trick until its completely smooth. (OCD yo.) its taking FOREVER.

xshadowfire - May 2, 2007 01:32 AM (GMT)
2 days to get a smooth bakfall.
weis backaround, ts 1.5, and rev ta, all in one day.

frisbee - May 2, 2007 02:04 AM (GMT)
Id like to agree with some others that twisted sonic is really easy i learned it in about 2 minutes (of course knowing charge & pass already). Other than ringbak & ringaround which are just hard as hell to get my fingers to move in the right way, the longest time was probably reverse sonic. That took a couple weeks.

Scott Shaputis - May 2, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
ta - 15 minutes
sonic - hour
back around - 10 minutes
charge - weeks
charge reverse - over a year before i looked into it.
bak fall - 4 months?
fl ta rev - 5 minutes
twisted sonic - five minutes
reverse ta - days
neo bak - less than 5 minutes
neo bak fall - 4 hours of straight practice no breaks
cont mid bak 1.5 - as of right now can only do 2x took me 10 minutes
sonic rise (no pause) - the good old days :) took like a month or 2
backaround 2.0 - few weeks
bak > fl ta rev - few days
i cant really remember anything else too well
well i could
but i am just rambling on a list no one will read
so
/quit

Crzyazn - May 2, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
backaround-30min B)
reverse sonic-3months

UnEmploymentDude - May 2, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)
Halftap: 5 secs
Demon's sonic: Perfect on the first try!

Surge - May 2, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
Pinky bak-5 min

Pinky bak 1.5-2 months

yea iv seen him do it hes been practicing doing with out twisted thats why when he starts twisted it easy its not very smooth he just started psing i give him props for that

and i learned thumb around 3-4 months, pendulum 1st try

platypusvictim9 - May 2, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
What's a pendulumn?

Pinky bak: first try

Fingerpass: 2 months and still super crappy

manjodabanjo - May 2, 2007 04:09 AM (GMT)
you hold the pen by its edge t1 and you swing it in a pendulum motion and it should go in a full way around the back of your hand and land either 43 or in the other side of your palm i will try to make a tutorial

platypusvictim9 - May 2, 2007 04:20 AM (GMT)
So is that a new trick? Cause I've never heard of it

Bobr - May 2, 2007 04:37 AM (GMT)
I learn sonic normal 23-12 in 3 min

Dark Angel-REX - May 2, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
pass: two second

shadow still 12: 2 weeks :blaugh:

Vertigo - May 2, 2007 02:35 PM (GMT)
Some of my shortest and longest:
-Indexaround: 1st try
-Middlearound: 1st try

-Reverse indexaround: three weeks and counting
-Twisted Sonic: 1st try to do it, but somewhere around a month to make it look good

-Double Thumbaround: I've spent about a week on it, twice, and never made any progress so I'm giving up for now.

-Double Charge: 10-20 minutes
-Inverse sonic reverse: 1st try
