Title: "1-answer-questions"
Description: need answers?
kohai - May 1, 2007 01:13 AM (GMT)
i posted this topic becuase.... i have had a lot of questions but i didnt post them becuase i new the answer was going to be simple..... EX. when is the ______ collab due? or having just one answer.....
i also posted this to prevent the board from having topics that are short.
in my opinion topics worthy of posting are "explanatory topics" such as explaining how to do a backaround, charge, indexaround, etc.
OVERALL, just ask your simple questions here.... so somebody will hopefully answer you.....
oh yeah.... anybody know waht happened to the asia collab...? anybody have the link?

Here's my question: Are tricks like..Humm, basketball spin, or bakfall significantly harder with pen that doesn't have perfect balance. Like an mx!
sketching - May 1, 2007 07:04 AM (GMT)
Doing the "Korean" Bak Fall will have you doing each successive Bak with the pen flipped. The 1/2 rotation between each Bak flips the pen around. A mod with a weighted end will have the weight switching sides with each Bak.
Doing a Bak Fall like this:
Backaround 12-T1-23 > Backaround 23-T1-34 > Backaround 34-T1
...will keep the weighted end on the same side for each trick.

What pen/s do/does bonkura use?
Tim - May 1, 2007 08:03 AM (GMT)
one of the pens he uses is a ballsign. but i'm not sure of any other ones
Bobr - May 1, 2007 09:49 AM (GMT)
Bonkura have a lots of different pens. But i think the one of the famous pen that he use is ballsign mod. I don't know all other mods (i think he just experimented with different pens) but i see he spin with Dr. KT in Tribute to Bonkura video (fake double variations segment)

I've seen people compliment others combos due to the face that they were done with an MX as opposed to an KT, Comssa, etc. Are MXs not commonly used in the more advanced stages of PSing? I prefer to spin MXs in school because they looks like pens but I'm wondering if it will be harder to progress.

Mx isn't the ultimate pen, if that's what you meant. Many people (including me) spins mx just because it looks like a pen, but it's harder to do those killerhard moves with a mx prefered to stuffs like compirat, tombow and grip aviare. They all makes it a lot easier to progress, especially for tricks like bakfalls and arounds. imo a mx gives more respect cuz it's harder to spin.

whats the exact name of the signo pen I need for the most mods which uses the tip?

It's because the RSVP MX, and the like, are weighted to one side. This means that you have to adjust how you use the pen depending one which direction the pen is facing.
The Comssa Mod, the Dr.KT and similar mods are double-sided and perfectly (or nearly) balanced. This means that you don't have to worry about adjusting, which makes it easier to spin.
ShortAssassin - May 2, 2007 08:23 PM (GMT)
I've heard that signo tips help to make the MX less backheavy, but I can't get my hands on one. Anyway, I guess that makes sense, I just wish comssas looked more like real pens. For now basically everyone in my classes knows that I spin pens so it's not wierd, but when I got to college in about a year and a half I don't want everyone staring when I pull out my metallic comssa lol.
Eso - May 2, 2007 08:48 PM (GMT)
Signo tips are on the following pens: EX2, Signo, Signo Gel Grip
RippDrive - May 2, 2007 09:03 PM (GMT)
I have used a few different pens for signo tips. As far as I know all the pens they have that have metal tips use the same one.

yes just not kt. Dr. kt comes from DR. grip and KeiTyo sign pen, but usually if somebody just says kt they mean the full mod. Depending on the context i guess it could be keityo sign pen though

The correct spellings would be: KT, keityou, keichou, and keityō.

What is the diffeence between
Index Around and
Index Spin?
And how is a Pinky Around?
Here says a Pinky BackAround is a FingerLess Pinky Around, but then how is a Pinky Around?
Edit: Why do people sometimes say ComSsa instead of Comssa?
sketching - May 4, 2007 06:28 PM (GMT)
1. Indexaround only has the pen going AROUND THE INDEX FINGER.
2. Indexspin CAN have the pen going around the finger, but MUST have the pen spinning ON TOP OF the Index finger at some point. The video that you linked to is mis-named.
3. To launch a Pinkyaround similarly to the other fingerarounds, you must hold your hand upside down (the Pinky finger is on top, the other fingers are below it). The pen still goes in the same direction, you use the Ring finger to push the pen around the Pinky.
4.A. Since you cannot start the Pinky Bak below the Pinky Finger, you have to start it in between the Ring and Pinky fingers. You can do a Fingerless Pinkyaround Reverse in a way that looks like a Backaround motion, which is what is called the "Korean" Pinky Bak. THe pen starts and ends in the 34 slot.
4.B. If you were to do a Pinky Bak the old Weissian way ( ), the pen would have to go around the Pinky first, then travel over the hand.
"Korean" Pinky Backaround equals Fingerless Pinkyaround Reverse

About the Comssa...
| QUOTE (HTZ) |
real name of comssa is "computer yong signpen"(korean pronunciation) (in fact, we use for take exam. our exam system is OMR)
but when korea say signpen word, we say like "ssa in pen"
so we use abbreviation "com"puter yong "ssa" in pen. (com-ssa)
(are you understand? im not good english)
umm..com-ssa version is different mark (body and caps are same)
and korean usual use anyball grip just usual...not only. sometimes i used to other grip put in comssa caps (just anyball grip is popular)
i hope that you understand my english |
| QUOTE (HTZ) |

Naming Commitee is a special division inside the Research Department which has its own governing body. That's because the NC existed before the RD.
Other departments of the RD are T&C (Tricks and Combos), P&M (Pen and Mods), VPM (Video, Presentation and Music), PSR (Pen Spinning Relations) and possibly HC (Hand Care).

I've got HGGs with grips that feel like they are cemented on, suggestions on how to get them off? I know some people using boiling water, but I'm hesitant to try it without confirmation that it won't deform the grip.
sketching - May 7, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
Here's a quote from the "
Basic Modification Questions" thread...
| QUOTE |
Remove Grips - Wrap something around the grip and something else around the back of the pen that helps you get a good grip.
- Use a straightened paperclip. Slide it underneath the grip to cut the glue that holds the grip to the pen.
- Throw the pen into boiling water, the grip will expand and any glue will melt. Grip shrinks after cooling.
- WD-40 will help the grip to slip off |
I personally use a paperclip to remove all of my HGG grips. I poked a small hole the first time I tried it, after that, never had any problems.
ShortAssassin - May 7, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
Do you use to it get under the grip towards the tip of the pen? Don't wanna ruin my grip by doing it wrong :).
