Please do not be offended if your favourite pen/pencil is used by a good/bad guy in this game, it's pure fiction.

The Story:

"Zombo hosts a world pen spinning tournament. Great spinners have come seeking the title of champion. While most people strive for the title in an honest and hard-working way, others have malicious intent and plot to eliminate other spinners from the competition -- literally. When this tidbit of information is officially announced, the pen spinners decide on a plan of action to weed out those bad participants."

Role Theme:

Each spinner uses a different (unique for each spinner) famous/popular mod, unless stated otherwise. The spinners themselves are not modeled after real persons. Therefore, anyone not spinning a famous pen mod should be considered suspicious.

Narrators: Zombo, kensai (Not part of the game)
Moderator: Zombo (Not part of the game)

Rules:

1) It will be a Day Start.
2) Each day will last roughly 72 hours, each night will last 48 hours. This is at the discretion of the moderator. Extension is possible.
3) 51% of the players will be required to Lynch. When 51% is reached lynching will be automatic so be careful with your vote.
4) Do not quote / screenshot any PM you receive. You may paraphrase any information you receive via PM, though.
5) Do not reveal your teammates.
6) Town people normally may only communicate through the game thread. Mafia may also communicate secretely via PM during the night.
7) If you're eliminated, do not post in the game thread anymore and do not communicate with anybody still playing.
8) If you have any questions please pm the moderator.
9) Have Fun!

10) Only 20% of the remaining number of players of role claims (aka pen claims) (rounded up) allowed per day for everybody (not per person!). Role claim refers to the act of one player claiming to spin a certain pen mod (can be a lie). This is to prevent all townies revealing their role at the same time and putting pressure on non-Town players to come up with a pen mod in a short period of time. Counter-claims are always allowed. Counter-claiming is a claim on the same role as somebody else. This rule is flexible and may change if necessary.

Example: 20 players remaining = 4 role claims / day.

11) You cannot edit your post. If you make a mistake, simply double-post your correction. If you vote and decide to cancel your vote right after, simply post another post with your change of vote. Double-post is allowed in this thread.

12) Lynch vote must follow the following format:

If you don't vote in bold, your vote won't count. You may change your vote at any time by "unvoting" and re-voting in a subsequent post (Do not edit your previous post). You only have one vote active per day.

Day 1, 0900 hours - "Lockdown"

“Long do I to see it fly,
Nary a moment to mine eye.”

The man with the tattooed shoulder looks up from the strip of paper, only to face the towering façade of the PS Olympic Stadium, the midmorning sun glinting in his eye. Picking up his suitcase and squaring his shoulders, he makes his way into the foyer where a crowd has already gathered. As usual, he is the last one to arrive.

“Quiet, all of you!” bellows a hoarse Zombo, organizer of this year’s event. The Tattooed One pushes his way into the front of the crowd that is noticeably more angry mob than professional group of athletes.

“Please, everyone, calm down! The situation is under control!” Zombo intones again.

A few shouts of protest; some muffled whispers. Eventually, everyone starts to settle down.

“Now, as many of you have heard, the whole compound has been locked down. Ever since the grand prize of 10 million dollars was announced, we have been receiving an overwhelming number of reports indicating that many international crime syndicates are intent on infiltrating the Olympic Village. One report in particular has confirmed that one such syndicate has successfully infiltrated our ranks and is in fact currently in our midst.”

Cries of outrage erupt from the crowd, but the Tattooed One only waits patiently. Zombo raises his voice once more.

“Therefore, we have locked down the entire Olympic Village. The reasons for activating the lockdown are twofold: first, to keep all external forces at bay. The second and more important reason, however, is to eliminate the Mafia that are among us.”

A dark look passes over the Tattooed One’s face; the few cheers from the rowdier athletes are silenced by the gun that Zombo pulls out from behind him. He continues with a marked soberness in his voice.

“Every day at dusk, one pen spinner will die. The majority will decide who will be killed next.” Zombo pauses a moment before continuing, a hint of regret in his tone. “I never thought it would come to this; I am afraid that this is our only chance to root out an evil that plagues the entire pen spinning fraternity, my friends. Be on your guard! There is no one but us in this entire Village. I wish you all the best of luck; come to me with your decision in the Village Square at dusk.” He turns and walks away.

A subdued chatter starts up again, this time with a notable increase in paranoia among the crowd, a palpable sense of suspicion hanging in the air.

The Tattooed One calmly dips a hand into his pocket, fingering his deadly pen of poisoned ink; with the other, he checks the time. But it’s still too early, the moment is not quite right yet…

Because someone is going to die tonight.

Everyone has his own way of playing. Strat just likes to rush and take risks.. There's nothing bad with that. He did it last time, why not this time?

Finally started! Just woke up...

I guess strat has a point. If we don't start anything now, it's gonna be really boring until someone slips.

If I had to guess in comparison to the previous game, I'd say 20 percent, which is 4... Might be more, might be less. You can never be sure, sadly.

And then there are the other hostile roles that people play, so the townie population may be lower than 60%

Wasn't there 12 people last game and 4 were mafia? So if there are 20 people, then I'm guessing there are closer to 6 or 7 mafia.

Alright, game on.

Knowing how many mafia there are would make things too easy. We already had a game and the townies did great that time. Now that we all know what's going on I hope things will go better.

I do however imagine that Zombo did some amount of balancing for the new game. More Townie friendly powers?

I said it last game and I will say it again, no lynch on the first day is a waste. Last time we made a poor choice but it ended up telling us so much about who was mafia/whatever.

Sure Eriror... we will do anything you say, while you slowly weed us off and we just feed into your abnormally large mafia hands!

I'm thinking that we can use role claims to our advantage, by pinpointing suspects and asking them to reveal their pens. I mean, the mafia already who the townies are so it doesn't do any harm to us. And anyone who doesn't post/posts the same mod as someone else can be flagged as suspicious.

I don't get what Joshua's first post was all about was he referring to the way Kensai did it last time when he made the list of people that didn't post?

but then if you post your pen then it makes you a bigger target to the mafia...

i dont understand this theory though, because if we start to do that, why would a mafia not post? they would all post, then use your theory to try to lynch someone who hasnt posted yet.....

well you say you pen then the townies dont vote for you (or whatever) then the mafia would most likley want to get rid of you before any other person.

think about it, the mafia wants to get rid of people who the townies know isnt mafia..... that way only suspicious people are left, therefore more chance of a mis-lynch.

Ok that makes sense I guess, but I still think we should try to structure role claims. If someone randomly claims a role and then a suspect isn't allowed to because of the new rule, it could really fuck us up.
