Title: 3 And 4
Webo_Splash90210 - May 20, 2007 12:07 AM (GMT)
Is there any way I can strengthen my 3 and 4 fingers? I think Zombo or Sketching put something up about using your 34. But Im just looking for suggestions to help make it stronger. I tried doing all the sonic families like pseudo, clip, shadow, etc.
If there is a thread can someone give it to me? Cuz I cant find any.
Zombo - May 20, 2007 12:11 AM (GMT)
you mean serialism? I guess it could help but uhh it's not specifically design for that.
Webo_Splash90210 - May 20, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
YEah i remember you talking about something saying "yeah yeah yeah that means you dont use 3 and 4 as often" or whatever. But yeah. Im looking for the best way to gain strength on those. I know practice and such, but what tricks should be effective?

Alright thanks. I can do that but like I should work on it more cuz my rising fan is looking a little choppy. thanks zombo. And BTW love your website

If you can do Charge 34, Pass Reverse 34-23 and Pass Normal 23-34 then I would suggest practicing Double Charge 34.

I tried those excersises before, they just don't seem to work. I can bend 1 2 and 3 down with ease, but 4 doesnt even come close. When I try to bend 4 down, 3 actually ends up bending before 4 even begins to (literally). It seems to be impossible to achieve independant pinky movement, regardless of how much I do it.
Has anyone here been in my position, and learned independant movement of 4 through this excersise?
K4S - May 25, 2007 06:11 AM (GMT)
It takes practice for your brain to learn the proper muscle memory. I can independently move my pink on my right hand and it seems weird that i had to learn it but when i compare it to my left hand i cant bend my pinky on my left hand and keep my ring finger still. Really, all it takes is time and practice.
You know what's tough though...trying to learn how to touch 1 and 4 if you already cant...took me a week of hand exercise to do it lol
Webo_Splash90210 - May 25, 2007 01:10 PM (GMT)
My guitar teacher always says that your finger muscles have memory so I guess if you practice those stretches your fingers will know they can expand. Im getting better at 3 and 4 since that last post i put up on the thread. *I can Pseudo, inverse, and tsonic with em* ahha
TiNY - May 25, 2007 05:15 PM (GMT)
I dont know if I can man, I've asked a few people to do it and they atleast have it a little bit, I don't have it the slightest bit... Can you hold your ring finger still and bend your pinky? 'Cause if I hold 3 still with my left hand and try to bend 4, it doesn't move whatsoever... In fact I can feel 3 trying to break free of my left hand before any movement in my pinky is noticable.. my pinky is just retardedly dependant on my ring. I just don't want to waste time trying to do when I could be spinning, if its impossible.
Oh and I can easily touch 1 and 4...

Dude I just discovered that today in English class.. I brought the subject up and my whole class started trying to do it, even my teacher, it was quite lawl.. But yeah, I can do it with ease on my left, but with negative ease on my right (I'm righty aswell). Kinda ironic how it works out like that, 'cause I know I couldn't care less if my left wasn't able to do it.
Lunchboxx - May 26, 2007 05:43 AM (GMT)
i can't do it with either of my hands.... :dunno:
TiNY - May 27, 2007 12:44 AM (GMT)
Yeah and it fucking sucks for Warped 23-34s and Ring arounds... I hate my life...
platinumnerd - May 27, 2007 03:55 AM (GMT)
i'm a lefty...but the weird thing is, i learn to spin with my right hand, so i spin with my right... B) i think it's cuz most tutorials are with right hands, so i just learned it with my right. back on the subject, yeah, i can touch 1 4 with both my left and right with ease

Plus you can also spin while taking notes, quizes, etc.
platinumnerd - May 27, 2007 02:34 PM (GMT)
yes! that's the best part...i can be doing my hw and my right hand can be dancin by itself...it's amazing.
Webo_Splash90210 - May 27, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
Yeah my friend is like that. I think he's a righty but he spins lefty when it comes to everything involving writing. I wish I could do that <_<
platinumnerd - May 27, 2007 05:46 PM (GMT)
wait...he's a righty but he writes with his left? that would mean he's a lefty...

Lemme rephrase it. He is a righty. But he usually spins with his left hand.
platinumnerd - May 28, 2007 08:29 PM (GMT)
sweet...so like me but backwards.
Webo Splash - May 28, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
If you're a lefty and you spin with your right hand, then yeah :metal:
Ivan the Terrible - May 29, 2007 08:42 AM (GMT)
please stay on topic from now on, this topic is about strengthening the 3 and 4

Wow, you guys are lucky.... PRESENTING THE "FINGER GYM 5000"

I know its pretty awesome, thankyou.
Webo Splash - July 12, 2007 05:24 AM (GMT)
HAHAHA that's awesome. How'd you make it?
ShoeMan - July 12, 2007 05:39 AM (GMT)
I remember having a sponge ball and I used to squeeze it between fingers :P,, there is also this -
http://z15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/index.ph...wtopic=2921&hl=I don't try to strengthen my fingers anymore, I'd rather use that time to spin or manipulate ..

Lol.... 2 wooden wedges attatched to 2 egg carton pieces (the thing that holds the eggs) A paper clip through the wooden wedges with a wheel through the paper clip. A string with a ring (I used a toy car tire) at one end and a weight at the other end, put that on top of the wheel and VOILA!...... Iono its pretty uneffective.
Teatime - July 12, 2007 07:36 AM (GMT)
tbh as a gamer from day one, my fingers are pretty used to clicking and moving and all that. I can do all of those bends from Pentix on both hands, with only the pinky on my left hand forcing my ring finger down a bit...
so I guess strength isn't what I'm lacking atm. *does a sonic reverse* grrr...this trick is so annoying...
Onyx-o7 - July 12, 2007 05:48 PM (GMT)
Try picking up a 4L milk jug. or something. I never tried it myself but I think it would strengthen your 3 and 4

But it looks gangster!! You can replace the string and the weight with something better rhough. Then it'd be effective.
AzNwAr3oR - July 12, 2007 06:26 PM (GMT)
Haha thanks. B) I saw something similar on a commercial..... So I decided to build one.
EDIT: Thanks to Webo Splash for the idea (kinda). THE ELASTIC ADD ON!

This ones actually kinda effective.
rodi - July 13, 2007 02:59 AM (GMT)

Well if that happens, then you cant spin pens anymore cuz there are barely any finger slots

I have this thing called the gripmaster. I use it a lot before piano exams and such. It's really good for strengthening your individual fingers, but at the same time using your index and middle to aid it. Because I'm sure you all know that it's extremely difficult to bend your ring and pinky fingers without bending some other fingers too.
My cameras not working, but here's how it looks like:
Gripmaster :D

yeah those are nice...but one day, i got frustrated and sat there and did that for like an hour, and my fingers were all screwed up afterwards :P

I have one of those here at home and I use it for basketball for getting more grip on the ball  I guess you can use it for pen spinning  :boing:
