Title: Comssa Mod Pros & Cons
strat1227 - December 2, 2006 11:39 PM (GMT)
ok i have a couple of questions regarding the question. First and formost: WTF!!! everyone is like worshipping these things and i have no idea why. I havent had the luxury of spinning one yet, but from what everyone is saying, they are only better for "spin effect" (streight off of tutlespin) secondly, if there is NO way to get them in america like everybody says, then how does EVERYBODY have one? everybody i see has some kind of modded one, so how can they be SOOO rare? and what in the world makes them worth people paying out of thier a$$ for them like everyone apparently is?
Sorry if i seem in any way insulting or anything like that.... im just kind of frustrated w/ the number of topics regarding this specific pen
Edit:
Here's a poll thread on the relative importance of the Comssa Mod caps & body...
More Important: Comssa Caps Or Body?

Most people like it because it's rare. I haven't spinned one either, although I traded with someone for 2 comssas, and they should be here soon.
Anyway the only way to get them is trading, or getting them off of
JetPens

Its okay.. :console:
I say Bictory is better then Comssa.
Yes..people like it because of their attractive effect(white cap + black barrel).
It is possible to get it in US. Or you can trade or buy it off from the "INTERNET"(Wooo!!)
They meant they are RARE outside Korea.
Every imported things are expensive. Its just the way it is.

comssas are only ok IMO. everyone should try one at least once though.

Agreed@ the second part.
I've spun my share of comssas and personally, IMO, PDS comssas are crap. Their balance isn't centered, and they are double capped mods, GFG. Normal comssas are way better, since you can balance them out yourself. And you don't have to worry about your comssa losing its text or sticker.
My 2c
And many people have them in the US because of JetPens and they have connections. B)
They would be easier to get for us if there were no PDS store since all PDS members have access to most mods.
And LittleRaisin is right. From what I have also heard PDS has special custom blank comssas. And under the stickers, is nothing. Do not peel off the sticker. Unless you are going to scan a V6 and share it or simply don't like it.

@strat1227:
The reasons why I like/dislike the comssa mod:
Pros
----------
1. The body. Fucking awesome. Period. The soft plastic makes it easier to spin (in my opinion) than harder bodied mods (RSVP MX, BICtory and such). The body rarely has that "slick" feeling that others can have.
2. Body + Cap combo. It does look pretty cool when spun without any grips. The white cap motion makes it really easy to see when spinning over a darker background.
3. Great balance. The comssa mod can easily be balanced without affecting its look. Just stuff some material (paper, blue-tak, etc...) in one of the caps until it balances. Adding metal tips to the caps make the weight offset less without needing to add material in a cap.
Cons
----------
1. Spinning with just the double caps is way too light for me. Adding grips adds more weight, but gives it more of a "magic wand" look.
2. Double-capped mods tend to look weird to non pen spinners.
3. Adding metal tips makes it look even weirder for non pen spinners.
----------
Whoever says they are rare is an idiot, unless specifically talking about in non-Korean countries. In that case, we either trade/buy from those who have them or buy them from JetPens.com. If someone is paying a lot of money for them, that person is an idiot also. They are super cheap to buy in Korea and should not be traded for a relatively large amount of pens. JetPens sells them for much more than what they are worth, but can be worth it for an easy option of buying 2 sign pens to try out.

The other thing that I like is comssa for is it's durability.
Like, some pens (rsvp mx), I'm afraid to spin over the ground because the tip will either come off or something will break (although this has never happened before). Using a comssa, I could care less about it breaking or something falling off when I'm spinning over a wood floor.

yes. comssa is the simplest mod of all time. there is no possibility of something breaking or falling off unless you are ed sect mobile ;)

The balance isn't perfectly in the center.

Comssa is light, and only very slightly unbalanced
but it is customizable, symetrical, and has an awesome twirly effect when spun
