Title: Michael
Description: what happened?

platinumnerd - May 28, 2007 07:43 PM (GMT)
hey guys, i've noticed how michael's been gone for a while...what happened? he was an amazing spinner, 2nd under eriror in ES...

Eburt - May 28, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
Got sick of the board and the people and maybe PS in general... said he ws going to work on a nw style, but that was probably over half a year ago... might come back some day, if he sees the board has changed a bit.

BTW, he was Eriror's mentor in his early months.... so Eriror may know more.

Mats - May 28, 2007 08:00 PM (GMT)
Hmm. I spoke to him (although this is some time ago now), and he said he had no wish to return the forum, but if someone were to challenge his spot in the elite six, he would battle (though that was back when I was running ES).

Ivan the Terrible - May 28, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
I think he started training dancing and patte started to train TKD.

Zombo - May 28, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
dunno him and patte just disappeared :dunno:

I used to rely on patte a lot to judge videos.

platinumnerd - May 29, 2007 03:09 AM (GMT)

FallenSeraph - May 29, 2007 03:27 AM (GMT)

that's a very cowardly attitude.

PS is a fast-moving sport, few people really commit themselves several years in the art, new faces emerge and surpass others in matter of months. The idea is that while veterans may quit, new faces are supposed to exceed their skills in a shorter amount of time, so that they already have an advantage and can progress beyond in the same span of time.

The idea is that not many people on UCPSB have stepped up to replace the older ones, so you feel their loss more deeply. If more newcomers stepped up big time and became more involved, we wouldn't even think about this. We would just admire the old veterans for what they have done and move on.

So instead of twiddling your thumbs and saying "hmm our good spinners are gone such a shame" just go ahead and become good yourself. Replace those people instead of weeping their loss. Only then you can become a winner, not a coward and a whiner.

Sfsr - May 29, 2007 09:21 AM (GMT)
What I heard was that both Michael and Patte got kids and don't have much time anymore :o Though I don't know if that is completely correct, or if I actually should be writing this here... >.>

theres more to life than just pen spinning....

a pen spinner will always be pen spinning till he dies.... the enthusiasm may fade over time

DarkArcher - May 29, 2007 01:07 PM (GMT)
Yea people do move on with hobbies... from getting excited when seeing a familiar pen in the stationery section in some store to not even bothering to browse through that section.

H-J - May 29, 2007 01:09 PM (GMT)
LoL
it would suprise me if Patte is going for tea kwon do....
Last time I talked with him he was talking about material arts all the time.

Yeh, I was surprised too. Just wait for Eriror to reply, he was the one who told me :/

Eriror - May 29, 2007 02:16 PM (GMT)
I never said they got kids... I'm not sure what you received when I talked to you.

They just moved on to girls and life.

neXus - May 29, 2007 02:21 PM (GMT)
Are they going to be at the gatherings?

Eriror - May 29, 2007 02:41 PM (GMT)
I could ask them. They wanted to meet you guys again, so problably, yes.

I don't like this term of phrase... It seems to suggest that when one pen spins, you can't have either women or life.

And is Michael still keeping his 002 place?

Ivan the Terrible - May 29, 2007 03:14 PM (GMT)
yes becuase the 003 hasn't challenged him and nobody has managed to challenge the 003

I indeed phrased it wrong, but they lost interest in penspinning because they found said things a tad more important. =/

Ah, I don't know... That's how I understood it, but I often misunderstand people ^^

This sort of brings up the subject of..

i think the skill level gap of the elite six and the rest of UCPSB is too great...

And most of the elite six are old timers, many of which do not post on UCPSB anymore.

It sort of makes UCPSB's elite six a bit silly...if they are not even a part of UCPSB themselves.

Girlfriends a quite a bit more time consuming than pen-spinning, and if you get a hot ass one then you have no time for the pen.
