Title: Forfeit Ps

::Chun:: - May 30, 2007 11:33 PM (GMT)
i have been spinning for more than 1 year, but i still always drop my pen.
and i can't do much combo, i think i don't have talent spinning pen
for example. i practise con middle around, i can't do more than one. can't get the pen to slip back to the cop...
i really want to forfeit

ShoeMan - May 30, 2007 11:37 PM (GMT)
umm.. persevere to succeed?

seriously dude we all drop, and you talk like anyone who spins for 1 year should be able to do continuous middle around, thats fucked up standards..
If it's very important to you not to drop, and being able to make combos, try sticking to the fundamentals and their reverses, there are lots of combo options there, and after you feel like you really really reeeeealy mastered consistence, smoothness etc at the fundies and reverses, move on to something new..

::Chun:: - May 30, 2007 11:42 PM (GMT)
and wt should i do , if i can't grip my pen properly :unsure:

Eburt - May 30, 2007 11:45 PM (GMT)
keep practicing... besides its all for fun isn't it?

I've been spinning for something like 14-16 months now, and frankly, I suck compared to most people on this board. I know some who have been spinning for less than four months that could probably beat me. Get up around six months and I'm owned... but it doesn't bother me that much, because I still have fun with it. Just enjoy yourself!

Tenku069 - May 31, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
ive been spinning for about 2-3 and i still cant do cont mids... i can bbarely do backfall... only the weak give up.

you will never get anywhere in life if you give up on everything that you are not good at right away

Tenku069 - May 31, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
I stopped spinning for many months due to school work and family related issues. and i lost all my skilll after i came back... plus.. im kinda slow at learning too ( darn all you new generation spinners!)

Boy, do not drop pen spinning because you can't do some trick YET. I can't even do continuous indexarounds <_<. Not even proper bakfall *almost getting it*, and i have more time spinning than Eriror, XD XD XD.... well, xD. you just have to be dedicated, put some time on the trick you want to get, and eventually, you will succeed. just, don't give up. ^^

Eso - May 31, 2007 02:22 AM (GMT)
I'm dropping a shit load right now. :dunno:

Tainted Elements - May 31, 2007 02:28 AM (GMT)
theres no commitment to pen spinning. spin when u want to, spin when u don't want to. theres not one pen spinner who has never dropped there pen... except maybe for jesus, ive heard he can do 90.5 thumbspin. :rolleyes:

Webo Splash - May 31, 2007 02:38 AM (GMT)
Well it's called practice. Im kinda like you. But all you need to do is boost your confidence. you're letting yourself down by saying you cant do stuff. Just try and practice. EVENTUALLY your fingers will love you and will help you out

JMember - May 31, 2007 02:57 AM (GMT)
Well, I spin my pen 5times+/minute. It is practice that makes you a master.

sketching - May 31, 2007 03:04 AM (GMT)
I've been spinning for a few years now and still drop the pen. A lot.

...it could just be that I really suck at the actual penspinning, which is probably true. No matter, I just like doing it.

::Chun:: - May 31, 2007 03:50 AM (GMT)
thank you for all of yur opinion, i think i will consider a bit longer that i will forfeit pen spinning or not. i will keep practising :lol:

lol ::chun::... dropping your pen is normal, even the best spinners drop their pen.

For every insane combo you see them do, there's 10 failed combos that you don't see...

Forfeit the game
before somebody else takes you out of the frame
Put your name to your shame
Cover up your face
You can't run away
The pace is too fast
You just won't last

wait for that moment where you can just say "Hey...I understand the trick now"

I struggled over bakfall for about a month...but in 15min on a random Saturday I suddenly understood it and was able to do it for the first time :unsure:

I struggle with cont MA too...I can only get 2-3

SwiftBolt - June 5, 2007 04:11 AM (GMT)
Yeah pen spinning is just something you would do for fun, especially if you're bored, and you can't get out of your seat xD.

Anyway, I drop my pen alllll the time, but it doesn't matter to me, because nobody actually "masters" penspinning. It's like a sport, at times there are people who are the best, but they're still not masters yet, they can still be beat by anybody who is still progressing to that level.

Anyway, the whole idea to getting a hard trick is understanding the concept of the trick. And if you find the concept that you saw not likable to your own standards, you can think outside the box for a new strategy that can improve your rates of success with that certain trick... i do that for my Twisted Sonic Bust -> Bak rev... so yeah. Keep going!!

don't worry, my 1 year anniversary passed a little while back and i'm no where near amazing. in fact i'm stuck in a rut
