Title: How Long Have You Been Penspinning?

fung0wd0d41 - January 7, 2006 06:03 PM (GMT)
Just wanted to see how long you all have been spinning...

killsburydohboy - January 7, 2006 06:48 PM (GMT)
Not many people can vote yet, because we need 20 posts or more. Is there a way to make that 20 post thing only for battles?

fung0wd0d41 - January 7, 2006 06:53 PM (GMT)

how long have you been spinning?
just started...
about 1 month
2 months
5 months
1 year
2 years
Ive been spinning ever since i was BORN

Way to go with the poll options, buddy. It would have been smarter to make options like 1-5 months, 5-10 months, etc. Good job.

Btw, It's been about three years now.

fung0wd0d41 - January 7, 2006 07:54 PM (GMT)

I'm right there with ya, zaner. I started not quite two weeks ago.

I now carry two practice pens with me and am constantly spinning. I have a 45 minute drive to and from work everyday, so I've got a good hour of 'mindless' practice there alone. :)

Just as a general question, When did you start PSing and when did you start getting really good at it?
really goood as in you can link together tons of combos, start participating in battles and pretty much no every trick besides some sonic variations and some of the more obscure stuff.

For me, i just started 4 months ago, and im not really good at it yet, though i know a few tricks (see my introduction for a semi list)

CPC - June 14, 2006 03:10 AM (GMT)
I started around February 2005 so I have been spinning for a lttle over a year. I started Feeling that I was a Ok spinner around the beginning of this year. I really did not practice as much as I would have like during my first year but lately I have been practing alot due to a lot of free time and I am getting better now. I don't know if I am considered good yet cause I still have a lot of stuff to work on. Watch this clip I made about a month ago and tell me what you think.

Eriror - June 14, 2006 04:33 AM (GMT)
I started in mid May last year, had a pause from end June to mid September, so I've been spinning for.. 10,5 months, now. I think I began to get good in February or something, when I pumped out my Twisted Sonic Bust Rises, and my palm-down style began to rock. ;)

Eso - June 14, 2006 04:40 AM (GMT)
I started around November 2005, so I've been spinning for about 7 months now. I started to feel like I was getting better cause I was able to get all of these tricks like Devil's Sonic, Devil's Around, Twisted Sonic Bust, etc. However, right now I don't feel like I'm any good at all. The only things I can claim to be really good at are TA Harmonic and continuous Double Charge, since I practiced those to death.

Personally, I think in order to be considered good, it's not the difficulty of the tricks you know, it's whether or not you are able to do them smoothly and able to link from one to another flawlessly. That's what I'm trying to work on right now. That and creating a combo that's not too repetitive, but repetition can be good if done correctly.

I Am Still A Beginer(Sp) I Started April 14, 2006(My Sister's Birthday Party) At Around Noon, I Was Pretty Bored So Yeah.
The Hardest Thing I Can Do Right Now Is The Shadow, I Starting To Link Stuff Together, Semi-Smoothly. But I Personally Thing I Shall Never Be Good, I'll Always Have Something To Improve On. Like Left Hand Spinning, Urgh.

nike t - June 14, 2006 07:42 PM (GMT)
I started in January, so about 5 months, still not good, I need to work on making combos, i really really suck at making combos

Ivan the Terrible - June 14, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
I started end of september 2005, so i'm spinning for around 9 months. I starte to think I'm good when I won my first battle.

RippDrive - June 14, 2006 09:04 PM (GMT)
I started about 3 months ago now. I still wouldn't call myself good but I have amazed myself with the amount I have learned in that time. I can do a whole lot of tricks and am learning new ones all the time. I am finally getting better at combos and can even get some pretty smooth.

When I first started to spin I thought I would never become as good as some of the people I saw in videos. However with the amount I have improved since I started I don't see any reason why not.

TurbulentTurtle - June 14, 2006 10:58 PM (GMT)
I started February of 2005.
I don't really think I'm even too good yet, I feel my style is too generic and I don't have variety at all.
I could always be improving so I guess I'll never be good.

zblader - June 14, 2006 11:52 PM (GMT)
i started on october 2004... stopped a couple of months, and started again... i think i got decent in ps on 2005... i think i could get better. improve smoothness.... hell, i can do it. hehehe. see ya.

Toast - June 15, 2006 12:43 AM (GMT)
uh about 21/2 months ;)

i didnt do much combos, and i just knew how to do plain tricks. my best is Ta harmonic. thats all i do in class since its not too flashy

anyways, i spent 1 weekend on non stop comboing, so now im pretty tank at combos as well ;)
