Title: What Tricks To Learn

lowcaloreedwin - June 10, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
I've spent most of the last 3 weeks learning the sonic rise/fall. Now I've finally mastered then, I'm at a lost as what to learn now. Here are the other tricks I currently know:

360 normal/reverse
Twisted sonic
Inifnity
Charge 34 (inc reverse)
Charge 12 reverse
Sonic rise / fall

Can anyone suggest what tricks I should learn now, which maybe can link into combos?

ShortAssassin - June 10, 2007 04:31 PM (GMT)
I'd learn shadows and backaround.

frisbee - June 10, 2007 04:48 PM (GMT)
I would start to learn charge between every finger combination & in reverse (12, 23, 34, 24, 13, T1). That will probably take a while though, so I would work on shadow & backaround like shortassasin said, in the meantime.

Webo Splash - June 10, 2007 05:35 PM (GMT)
Tsonic bust
inverse
pseudo and sonic clip
fingerless ta
fingerless rev. ta

just some of those. look in the master threads and find a trick that seems easy to work on. build your way up

that long list of tricks I don't know makes me feel like such an amateur spinner :)

gizzardsmack - June 11, 2007 03:21 PM (GMT)
really, not knowing what all those tricks are just shows you that you've got a ways to go before you'll be a master spinner :)

i dont know if i can do a rev inv twisted sonic... but the rest are not too bad.

seriously, if you are just trying to learn something new that looks sick in combos learn either twisted sonic bust (twisted sonic > index around) or shadow.

both are solid tricks that are usable in any combo.

He knows twisted sonic already...

MingoDynasty - June 12, 2007 02:50 AM (GMT)
I thought a learning order was supposed to be gradual? Like first learning a Sonic, then a Twisted Sonic, then a Warped Sonic, then finally a Double Charge?

strat1227 - June 12, 2007 02:54 AM (GMT)
well, its not "supposed" to be anything... people all learn differently.

whats with a sudden obsession with spelling fail "phail"? its not like it gives a different idea... its just a little more retarded.

just learn stuff. you don't need to spend a lot of time on the forums to get good. you just need to practice a lot. that's the trick :)

Eso has lotsa video tutorials there.

@gizzardsmack:
In my opinion, anything purposefully misspelled with a P or PH is always a strengthened version of the original word. Like Pwn and Ph34r

Oh, you know all the tricks?

Previous knowledge of tricks isn't required to come up with something innovative, if you try hard enough, you'll come up with something.

lol no i didnt mean i knew all the tricks, im just saying, im not able to make up tricks after learning the first four fundamentals. but if YOU can, go right on ahead, no ones going to stop you.

Delusion - July 2, 2007 11:50 AM (GMT)
Kam's 'Learning Order' is a good place to go. If you've learnt one trick, just learn the ones it connects to.

Pentrix: Suggested Learning Order

Simån - July 3, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
I would go with either:

Backaround (please make it weis style)
Shadow
Indexaround

If you get stuck with one of em, then go on to the next one...

Onyx-o7 - July 3, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
You can watch my tutorials. Just click the link underneath my signature. But I recommended trying sonic rise, sonic fall, twisted sonic bust, thumbflap charge reverse fingerless thumbaround reverse. B)

Teatime - July 8, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
Hello everyone. I'm at a pretty similar yet quite different position, so I thought I'll use this thread to ask the exact same question, what next? :)
My trick base is currently:
TA-1.5 and Rev.
Infinity-Triple(anyone care to explain what an "Infinity Release" is?)
Sonic-Sonic, Sonic rise(Learned it without even knowing what it is :P), Twisted Sonic(can't quite figure out how to do the "bust" part of it though).
Shadow.
Charge.(23, 12, and a weak 34)
Backaround(Weis ;) )

I'm thinking of moving on to all the reverse moves...Reverse Sonic, Reverse Charge...
But I'm not quite sure, since I spotted a lot of tricks around here that I haven't heard before and aren't on Kam's flowchart...
Also, I was wondering if I could get a tip on how to improved my fluidity. I see pen spinners do 50 tricks in a row and their pens aren't stopping for a min, yet the only connected move I can do is Twisted Sonic to Thumbaround...
Thanks a bunch :)

KenIchirou - July 8, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
You should learn inverse sonic, shadow, or a difficult one twisted sonic bust.

Tainted Elements - July 8, 2007 11:36 PM (GMT)
wat about teh "kam's 4 loop combo" located
respectivley in teh master threads.
this message has been brought to you by Tainted Elements. :thumb:

Korean Bak. Then NeoBak. It depends Teatime. Spinners learn differently. ]

Teatime - July 9, 2007 10:16 AM (GMT)
I actually tried K4LC, but I can't seem to connect the sonic with the twisted sonic...they just...don't connect >.>

try adding a charge like gesture in between to smooth it out

gizzardsmack - July 9, 2007 04:18 PM (GMT)
for anyone who cares: i made a quick twisted sonic bust tutorial for teatime to explain why its different from doing a twisted sonic > thumb around. you can watch it

here.

hope it helps someone :D

Teatime - July 9, 2007 04:38 PM (GMT)
Ahhhh nice... :) Alright, I'll try it out once I'll master the index around(already started :P)
Thanks a bunch!

Oh and thanks for the K4LC advice. I just do it as if I'm doing a sonic rise but instead of finishing the move to an extra sonic I do a twisted one instead...
Need to work on it though.
