Title: Originality Exercise.

Seeing as how I have nothing better to do at this moment, I dedcided to write an article designed to boost people's thinking and originality when building combos.

A lot of mini combos become overused because well, they just look good. The goal here is to think of new ways to link tricks to come up with new results.

Take Sonic 34-23 -> Twisted Sonic Bust 23-12, it's easy to perform, looks good, and gets used a lot.

ThumbAround -> Thumbaround Reverse (or Fingerless ThumbAround). Those two are two of the most oftenly used combos invovling the thumb.

Now what I am going to explain, is how by simply placing your fingers differently can change the outcome of a trick, and will be my example here.

ThumbAround -> MiddleAround. Seem a little out of it? This is a mini combo that can be done easily, but often overlooked.

To show the main concept I'll give you a different but similar mini combo, Wiper t1-23 -> MiddleAround. This is easily performed by simply resting your index finger against your thumb while doing the wiper. At the end of the wiper you pull you index finger back, bringing the pen into the 23 slot, which makes it easy to link these two trick together.

How that relates to ThumbAround -> MiddleAround? It's the same thing, using your middle finger to push the pen, instead of pulling it back slightly like most people tend to do, let it stay where it is. You hand should be kind of like the OK sign, with your middle finger under the thumb and the rest of you fingers pointed straight out. This allows the pen to have open room for the ThumbAround. Around the time the pen swings under your middle finger pull your thumb out allowing you room to do the MiddleAround.

This serves as just a guide and example of how to try things different making your combos a bit more original and you.

I hope I did this right. >.>

The two combos I listed aren't even that hard really, and I believe thinking outside the box is good, it promotes originality and creativity making your style your own.

Like your style strat, but I'm pretty sure mine is the two full tricks, the Thumbaround just ends in 23.
