Title: Middlearound Execution
Description: index in vs index out

I always used the on where I bend my index in, but now I learned it with index sticking out so I'm wondering which do you think looks better.

There was a small discussion at the end of the Middlearound thread about this.

I learned Middlearound with my Index finger curled in. Keeping it curled is how I naturally perform the tricks.

Edit: thread title changed to differentiate from existing Middlearound thread.

I do it both ways really sometimes I curl my finger in sometimes I don't :dunno:

A lot of the time I do have my index sticking out and the pen goes over it

Both are valid but I think the one with index straightened out looks better. Not to mention it also gives you the option of doing Passaround, if you wanted to.

I forgot to mention that I do Middlearound Normal with a curled Index finger, Middlearound Reverse with a straight Index finger.

Well wouldn't you have to or the pen would hit your index right?

i think stick out looks better, but bent in will be easier

I can also do it with my Index finger curled, like Middlearound Normal, but I naturally do it with a straight finger for the Reverse.

extended is more natural and practical, I know only very rare tricks which spins on the second phalanx of the index finger (in fact, I created it).

Haha I love when you do that zombo.

But yeah. Idk i like both. It depends how well its excecuted though. And the angle.

+ I naturally do a middle around with my index srait unless I just did a passaround. Then i would curl my index. IDk its confusing like that.

A single MiddleAround: index finger curled.
MiddleAround in a combo (say IA 12-12 -> Rev Pass 12-23 -> MA): index finger straight

fitzgeraldhimself - June 14, 2007 11:18 AM (GMT)
Well yea, doing a single MA i would have the index extended, but when I copy parts of cheukii's combos there are parts where you HAVE to curl your index finger to execute certain passes.

I was going to say something really important now but I forgot and it makes me so sad.

EDIT: This is kind of similar to tipped sonic, I'm the only one I've seen that does it down the hand extending the fingers afterwards, most people curl in when the go down if that makes sense.

Sfsr - June 14, 2007 11:46 AM (GMT)
Still, with Tipped Sonic I think curling the fingers while going down looks prettier then extending them, while with arounds it's the other way around.

DaThroat - June 14, 2007 03:19 PM (GMT)
i do it with fingered curled in since its like a mid bak rev
