Title: [ladder-g] Ladder Sign-up
Zombo - July 1, 2007 01:11 AM (GMT)
DON'T SEND TO ME, SEND TO FLIP. FLIP IS THE ONE TAKING CARE OF THE LADDER.As promised here' the ladder.
Read the guide:
http://z15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/index.php?showtopic=7658Here's the summary:
-The ladder is almost autonomous. You decide when you want to play, who you want to play, how you want to play. Ultimately your ranking will depend in the effort you put in the ladder and of course how skilled you are in pen spinning.
-To engage in a battle, simply create a new challenge thread. You can directly call out somebody else or ask for people. Once both agree to play, the match becomes official.
-You set the rules of the match and the deadlines. However, I will not provide judging, so if you need judging, it will be public voting.
-You can play whatever you want: regular, tack-on, etc.
-You can only play in one match at a time. You can only engage in one battle per 2 weeks MAX to a minimum of one battle per two months.
-If you are inactive (less than one battle per two months), you will be kicked out.
-If you are kicked out and want to rejoin, you have to wait 2 months since you were kicked out. Your rating will be reset to 1000.
-Anybody can join or quit the ladder at any time. When you join, you start with the base rating of 1000.
-Anybody can challenge anybody else. There's no restriction like in Elite Six.
-For now, multiplayer (more than 2 persons) ladder matches are disallowed.
-To sign up, just post here.
Please respect the challenge topic title format:
"[LADDER] XXX challenges YYY".
If you don't know who you're going to challenge, write "???" instead of YYY and I'll edit it later.

There is no limit to the number of spinners in the ladder, btw. It's very free.

DaThroat - July 1, 2007 03:11 PM (GMT)
a couple of questions.
is this so that we can see our own ranking in terms of spinning on this board? if so how is this going to be calculated if many do not sign up?
for tack-on, it doesnt matter how smoothly or disgustingly you did the trick as long as you did it right?
lastly, in. though i expect a weak rank
Zombo - July 1, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
no, it only calculates your ranking with other spinners participating in the ladder, not everybody from UCPSB.
for the tack-on, I don't care. You set the rules of your matches, not me.
Lunchboxx - July 1, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)

Onyx-o7 - July 1, 2007 04:28 PM (GMT)
I wanna join but I dont wanna go against some pro spinner because i've only been spinning for 6 months. If anyone wanna battle me at my rate of spinning then PM me. then we'll set up a battle
Thanks to Zombo we can all battle
ShortAssassin - July 1, 2007 04:33 PM (GMT)
Onyx you don't have to battle pros if you don't want to. Just reject their challenge if you get one.

*works up courage*... IN!
So if anyone gets a poo rank, they can just quit/rejoin and start fresh? And in the same way, if someone has a sauceome rank, if they are inactive for 2 months they loose it all?... There is the possibility of exception in that case right?

if your ranking sucks, you can quit and rejoin, but you must wait 2 months to rejoin.
if you are inactive for 2 months, you get kicked out and you have to wait 2 months to come back.
Health - July 1, 2007 07:10 PM (GMT)
Unlikely, but what if every other spinner rejects your challenges for 2 months, and/or they cannot battle you due to the 2 weeks max challenge thing for the whole 2 months.
xD SHUTOUT
Zombo - July 1, 2007 07:11 PM (GMT)
thats just stupid, because every battle are scaled due to ranking. So if you suck and battle a high ranked, you won't lose much poins if you lose anyway.

Does declining a challenge result in any penalty of points/ability?
Zombo - July 3, 2007 02:39 AM (GMT)
no, only loss of manliness and personal reputation :ssst:
