Hello and welcome to K4S's second tutorial for the Single Body RSVP Vortex (or SB rsvp Vortex). I originally came up with this mod to display the sexy UCPSB rsvp logo. I tried doing my tutorial a little differently by being lazy and just writing all the instructions out instead of editing everything in photoshop :P. Regardless, I think it’s easier to read/follow the instructions doing it this new (and lazy) way ^_^ .

This mod is fairly simple, only requires 2 RSVP pens which are very common and 2 comssa caps. The final length of the pen (of the one in the final picture) is 19.5cm. If you choose to use white comssa caps the final length will probably be around 20cm instead.

What this mod achieves is almost the exact length as a normal rsvp Vortex (length is 20.06cm) originally made by: Shimotakimas….but my mod is easier to make (maybe lulz) and you aren’t left with the cut in the middle (which is a personal pet peeve of mine <_<). As well, my mod can still write using the regular rsvp ink.

Get 2 RSVP pens and 2 comssa caps. Grip the comssa caps to whatever scheme you like.

Wow thats really good. I never would have though about using just the front of an rsvp like that and putting it inside of the other. I think this is waaay better than the original vortex. :clap:

just be careful with the filing, if you make it too thin (either part, threads and tip part) the respective RSVP will most likely break.

also, i would recommend adding a little flex room when you put the RSVP parts together. not too much that it doesn't stay, but a little. this way, there is less of a chance for the RSVP barrel to crack (the end is really brittle).

A cool tutorial, interesting that two double sided pens, both of which write were released today... and even though this is a nice improvement from the original (don't let LSC know! j/k) The Any-X > This. Firstly because its retractable, but mainly because I don't have many Comssa caps lying around. :lol:

Oh and i just figured out, that instead of shuvving paper into the end of the other side, you can use two rsvp inktubes cut to the right length and have them sticking out opposite. With some precise measuring it would be perfect. It would probably also make just a tad more stable on the end that gets attached and also allow you to write with either end.

I made the mod... it's too long for me.

The original Vortex took less time make, too much filing for this mod, and you could choose the length based on where you cut the barrels.

you shold have use the green rubber band as "CUT HERE" and red as "DON'T CUT HERE", because everybody knows green means permission, red means interdiction.

But red catches the eye, so those who mod impulsively & without reading completely the directions will cut the red line first without noticing the green line. Thus they are spared from fucking up by the wisdom of k4s.

I agree with sketching, im not one for so much tedious filing, plus if you use a metal file instead of sandpaper to file to barrels of the original vortex the connection area is smooth and doesnt get in the way while spinning. However, I do like the fact that this one can write, added bonus!!

This one looks so much more professional than 2 bodies glued together... But I was never a fan of the HGGs under the ComSSA cap, I can't stand the MXSA... I think it would look way better if the RSVP Tip Ends were cut shorter, and the ComSSA Caps went right over top of the HGGs so it just looked like a ComSSA with a RSVP Body...

But that's just me... I'm also weird...

[E]Actually I take that back, re-looking at the final product, the HGG grips don't look bad at all... On this mod atleast, I still hate the MXSA (no offense Eriror :P )[/E]

TiNY: the grips are RSVP grips, not HGG. I later realized that you could also cut off plastic from the ends of the tips and cut the grips to shorten the length of the mod. Unfortunately, this would also ruin the tip for the writing ability. Oh well.

I really like this mod, but it reminds me a lot of the SPS. It involves a huge amount of sanding. I made mine today, spins pretty well.

So for step 4. you sand the back of the tip section so it fits in the back of rsvp body? yea right <_<

When it comes to modifying the rsvp i am on familiar territory so I have 3 possible variations (beginner/veteran/pro) of my SB rsvp Vortex that i am planning out. Each variation being slightly more difficult than the one before...providing i can even get it to work myself. theipodpeople already made the beginner variation of putting in another ink tube so that you have a pen that can write out of both sides (the end result is a bictory-style rsvp pen). As for the other 2 variations...you'll see it when i post it :)

damn i can't get any of tha parts why can't Aus stock Rsvps :angry: but then again i dnt have comssa caps either <_<

19.5cm with the V9 caps, ~20cm with normal caps.

I'm defintiely gonna have to try this mod later today, it looks really clean and actually a lot of fun to make. Just gotta make the proper measurements and stuff...

Great job on making this mod. I've always been a huge fan of the VX cause Shimotakimas is a hardcore, so I'm pretty sure I'll like this one too!
