ok guys, we are having the first UCPSB pen mod battle.

Registration

Send a PM to me or Send an email to me (darkinertia@gmail.com) saying that you have read the rules. its that simple!

Pen Modification Battle Submissions and Requirements
Registration starts: april 9th
Submission date: april 20th
voting ends: april 23rd

The thread title "UCPSB official Pen Mod Battle" will be made by me(darkinertia). participants will be expected to post there WITH OR WITHOUT NOTICE.

All submissions must withstand the following:

The modification MUST be something new. Published modifications are not allowed.

The modification MUST not be a based on a specific, existing modification. Eg: You changed the HGG grip of RSVP MX to a G2 Grip and named it a new mod.


The modification MUST be provided with a standard tutorial, which includes pictures and text.

A standard tutorial requires: minimum components, name of the modification, a description/introduction of the modification, pens required, cost of each pens(US Dollars. Currency Converter: http://www.xe.com/ucc ), total cost for making the modification and steps involved. Additional specifications can be included to make your modification stands out from others.

Inserts are allowed, but you should include photos of the modification with and without insert. Non original insert used is a penalty in Originality!

Editing a battle submission post is strictly forbidden.


Judging Process

after the submission date, a new thread titled "poll:Pen Mods Battle" will be made by me and you will be able to vote for your favorite mods.

Things to consider

Originality: Whether it is a totally original modification

Apperance: Must be good looking

Spinnability: Must be good to spin. That means it must have ideal weight, balance, grips. Participants can make use of photographs to prove that.

Durability: Must be relatively solid. (Participants can take a risk by experimenting with it through filming a video.)

Creativity: Whether the modification is done using new concept/s. (Eg: Reversing the ink tube)

Overall: Does the modification worth the price stated? (Eg: The total cost for making my "xxx Mod" is US$150.)

Video Submission(optional)

Another part to aid USPSB members on how good your mod performs is to make a video. your video must be uploaded to www.youtube.com or www.video.google.com. if your not able to for any reason, you can send it to me before hand and ill upload it(if im availible).

a short video on how well the pen spins

a step-by-step process on how to make the pen

a durabiliy test

Winner

The winner will be announced at the end of the battle. you will get a pat on the back. :D

Are videos truly necessary???

i edited the rules on videos, and no they arent nessessary, however, they help the judges(other members) decide if your pen is good or not. pictures are required for the mod tutorial though.

I'm not sure if I'm gonna be in. School has just started fulll steam and it's gonna be tough to think of something now. Besides, I already released my latest idea lol. I try not to create too many mods cause I'm afraid the quality would drop. I'll try to think of something though and we'll see if I can make it.

Edit: Goodness gracious... deadline is so close. Looks like I gotta sit this one out.

Wow. Making a completely new mod is hard... so much has been done already!

I have a question. Actually a few questions. Is the 20th the submission dateline, or starting date? And if it's the dateline, then when's the starting date? i.e. wheres the thread to post the mod tutorials. Tutorials will have to be posted in another thread that you will create, right?

And when's the voting starting date? Is it on the 20th? That should mean 20th is the dateLINE right? Bring me back to the question of when can we start posting the tutorials?

I am done with the mod, but im working on testing, and strength build up.

Here is a video of my finished product but i regretfully am dropping out of the contest due to social, physical, and parental reasons.

2. doesnt spin good
3. u used parts only available to ur area

i would think that if u had enough time to make a vid, upload it and then post about it then u wuld have time to take a picture of it, upload it and then post about it

his mod has many flaws jus by watching the vid

because of it, it drove me to near insanity so i made a new mod but was wondering can i rejoin the contest. cuz this one is a lot easier to make!!!!!
