Quick question, when doing a Shadow Harm do you have to do any Shadows that do not go from one slot to another? Like a Shadow 12-12...

Nope, sorry, I don't know how to harm a shadow...............Oh! you're asking about shadow harmonics! Okay I don't really understand your question, butt you can do it anyway i guess :dunno: like shadow 12-23 harmonic, or 23-34 or stuff like that.

I'll give an example...during a Shadow Fall, do you start with a Shadow 12-12 and end with a Shadow 3-4, or do you just do a Shadow 12-23 then a Shadow 23-34?

The solution is to stop using names for combos and just write out the breakdown.

The most common breakdown of Shadow Fall is:
Shadow 12-23 -> Shadow 23-34 [No Shadow Stills are used]

As for the answer to your original question, a Shadow Harmonic can be done two different ways:
The first way being a Shadow Still Harmonic where the pen does not change slots at all during the trick, such as:
Shadow (Still) 12-12 -> Shadow (Still) Reverse 12-12*
The second way being a Shadow Harmonic where the pen may change slots throughout the trick, but will start and end in the same place. An example:
Shadow 12-23 -> Shadow Reverse 23-12
------------------------------------------
The breakdown below could be seen as a Shadow Harmonic but technically it is not:
Shadow 12-23 -> Shadow Reverse 23-34
A Shadow Normal and a Shadow Reverse are performed but it is not considered to be a "true" Shadow Harmonic because it does not start and end in the same place. [The term Harmonic is used when a trick is followed by its exact reverse motion, such as an IndexAround Harmonic]
*The term Still is sometimes used in a Shadow to show that it starts and ends in the same place.
