Title: Mats Vs. Maniok
Maniok - July 24, 2007 06:47 PM (GMT)
The Rules:
I post a trick, then you post a trick, then I post one, then you post one and this cycle continues. No videos however, are posted. At some point in the combo, one person must challenge the other to do the combo, within 72 hours. If the person does do the combo within 72 hours, they win. If they fail to do the combo, they lose.
Mats started with fl. thumbspin 2,5
I go on with. charge t1 and I want to see you doing that in the next 72 hours :D

I like this format a lot mats, incorporating elements of bluff and evaluation into the game. Good job!

Wouldn't it be better to have a spinner challenge the other spinner only after the other spinner adds a trick. For example, shouldn't it be like this:
Spinner A starts with a trick (Spinner B can challenge him/her to produce a video with that trick)
(Assuming Spinner B did not challenge): Spinner B adds a trick. (Spinner A can challenge Spinner B to perform the combo, including that trick)
(Assuming Spinner A did not challenge): Spinner A adds a trick. (Spinner B can challenge Spinner B to perform the combo, including that trick)
If a spinner can challenge at any time during the combo (like immediately after they add a trick) then wouldn't it only reward people who chose impossible tricks, or only tricks that they knew the other spinner couldn't perform? Perhaps I misunderstand the rules, or the aim of these rules, but it seems like the way that I said would be better for the bluffing and risk/reward nature of the system. I do think that the general idea is pretty great though.

No you are right, and your way makes much more sense. Good call.
Mats - July 24, 2007 07:56 PM (GMT)
I agree swift. I did not think the idea through well enough.
GPC-DontKnow - July 24, 2007 08:02 PM (GMT)
do you make videos? i want to see your spinning :) and this combo it starts very interesting!
:spin:
Zombo - July 24, 2007 08:34 PM (GMT)
that is correct tswift, its how I envisioned the game as well.
therefore Mats, you can either choose to challenge or add a trick to what Maniok wrote.

So then what do we call Tswift's game? Tack-on Poker or something? lolol
JooJoo - July 25, 2007 01:56 AM (GMT)
yeah, i also thought of it like Tswift. keep on tacking on till someone calls BS Sounds very interesting. I like Mingo's name of tack on poker. All the bluffing :)
Edit for the edit

I thought Mats made this up.
Zombo - July 25, 2007 02:26 AM (GMT)
btw theres no limit to what you can do in the ladder, this would easily work.
Maniok - July 25, 2007 01:40 PM (GMT)
Ok tough guy.
http://media.putfile.com/jfyfNow it's your turn.
Katto d(^.^)z - July 25, 2007 02:06 PM (GMT)
mm it looks like the TS is pushed to me
edit: o i c the jerk now
Maniok - July 25, 2007 02:12 PM (GMT)
indeed it looks like, but I just used the index finger for holding the pen.
The push comes from hand movement.
ShortAssassin - July 25, 2007 02:44 PM (GMT)
Actually Maniok I think you win the battle since you did the combo.
Zombo - July 25, 2007 02:58 PM (GMT)
your turn to what? you made the combo, so you won.
