So, anyone here have any knowledge in martial arts, or just want to try to do this?
I noticed a lot of pens now have sharp metal tips, and although the light weight probably makes them poor ranged weapons, in hand to hand combat, surely with the correct techniques with the pen, one could gain an advantage over someone who is unarmed?

So yeah, any ideas on a pen defense system? Or does anyone know of a weapon that is similar which may have techniques that could cross over?

My brother and his girl are black belts, and she showed me a move with a chopstick once. she took the chopstick in her hand like when your going to do a 2-3 charge, and shook my hand almost. but went higher on my wrist and squeezed. I almost screamed like a woman. That shits no joke, try it on someone, it may take you a few tries to get the placement right. I do it on occasion to people. Very funny. I'm a grown man, and she dropped me to my knees, and she can't be more then 85lbs soaking wet. I can't remember what it was called, but next time i see her I will ask her about some more moves.

Nothing wrong with the classic Coward-Creep-Behind-The-Back-Stab. If you're light on your feet, you don't need any of these fancy moves to defeat an opponent.

You ever see that thing in the movies where they take the hollow body of a pen and puncture a chocking persons windpipe so they can breath trough the tube?

If you have pen...then stab them, preferably in the eye.

I learned that in basic training, also they said a playing card/id card would patch a sucking chest wound. I'm glad I've never had to try it.

well pens are mightier than swords. and swords are pretty badass, so pens must be awesome.

Self defence can be an art too young strat.

That would be considered assult with a deadly weapon here in the US. Even if it is used in self defense.

If it's self defense don't you get away? I thought that's a good solid excuse. I mean, wouldn't you do that?
