Title: The Weekly Interview Thread

firebird - August 3, 2007 09:53 AM (GMT)
*IMPORTANT!* To ALL participants, your interview has been pushed back 1 week later due to:
http://z15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/index.php?showforum=19
Sorry about that. To participants who sign up AFTER the time of this edit (Aug. 22, 5:45 GMT), your dates will already be adjusted accordingly.

NEXT AVAILABLE TIME SLOT IS MID-LATE NOVEMBER 2007
Please follow the guidelines or else I won't accept your request. Thanks.

Guidelines

1. Questions will be divided into two categories: Personal and UCPSB/PS-Related.

2. Participants will be selected on a first-come/first-serve basis. You must PM me if you are interested in participating, otherwise I won't add you to the list. You must also PM me if you want to drop out completely for whatever reason. If you want to switch time slots with someone else, PM me and I'll arrange it. If a swap can't be found but you don't want to drop out either, I can offer to push you back to the bottom of the current list but you'd have to let me know before your turn came up.

3. One participant will be then selected per week from the list based on the order in which they PM'd me, unless they opt out afterwards.

4. Every Wednesday, the interviewee due up next will be revealed to the board. At this time, members will have 2 days to submit additional specific questions based on either category. I would prefer you PM the questions to me so the participant can receive all the questions at the same time when I send him/her the interview. Please keep the questions decent (i.e. not vulgar). While I'll allow joking questions to an extent, I will not accept questions that border on flaming. User-submitted questions are anonymous, so don't be afraid to submit! It makes the interview much more interesting.

Note: While you can tell people that you signed up, I think it's more interesting for both you and them if they don't know the whole list of participants in advance. Either way, it's your choice whether you want to reveal yourself prematurely or not.

5. After the 2 days have passed, I will send the interview to the participant on Friday afternoon and they will have the rest of the day and the weekend to finish it and PM the completed version back to me. I will then post the completed interview on Monday in a separate (hopefully stickied) thread.

Finally, I'd like participants who are genuinely interested in taking part and who would be able to take some time out of their weekend to complete the interview. Please attempt to answer questions seriously unless the question is meant to be joking. Also, as an interviewee, you must be comfortable answering basic personal questions (e.g. where do you live, age, etc.). The more personal questions are optional (e.g. name, weight, etc.). You can leave these blank if you don't feel like answering them.

----------------------------

Ok, I hope that didn't sound too complicated. I'm sorry if there are mistakes, because I'm typing all this at nearly 6 am (yes, I haven't slept yet). If there's anything unclear, just ask.

Unlike the participant-specific questions that should be PM'd to me, you can submit questions directly in this thread that you'd like to see every participant answer. Keep it clean please.

I still feel that it souldn't be first come first serve basis... it'd be more interesting if you just picked the most well known or most fun person from the list of people who PM's you.... like if some random n00b PM's you first, should he get the first interview?? that just doesnt make sense to me <_<

Makes sense to me. The most popular/fun people aren't always the most interesting, and we still have every Wednesday of the year.

Zombo - August 4, 2007 02:19 AM (GMT)
i doubt any noob applied; they wouldn't know what this is about anyway, and also I think he did this to avoid people complaining that they didn't get picked first.

frisbee - August 4, 2007 06:20 AM (GMT)
you should just pick people randomly & pm them to see if theyre interested

firebird - August 4, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
The people who signed up are well-known anyway...and like Zombo said, I don't want disputes later on, that's why it's first-come/first-serve.

The next participant is Mats.

I had to rush this a bit because Mats is leaving next Wednesday. You can now PM me additional questions (PS or off-topic) you'd like to ask Mats and I'll tack them onto the interview if they're not already on there. The deadline to submit additional questions is about 24 hours from now.

To everyone else who signed up: your dates are still the same, so don't worry.

Sent Qs

Joshua - August 4, 2007 07:21 PM (GMT)
This is a great idea. This is also going to be a lot of fun!

I sent questions a few minutes ago.

Mats' interview is now up:
http://z15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/index.php?showtopic=8325

His sudden departure meant I was forced to send him his interview earlier than usual (he signed up first). He'll end up being featured for more than a week because I decided to post his interview early. I did this as a tribute since he has just left UCPSB indefinitely. The interview sheds more light on the type of person Mats was, and hopefully it'll help us all remember him.

rookee - August 8, 2007 04:34 PM (GMT)
That was pretty nice. I didn't notice he was that calm, or atleast he felt calm.

strat1227 - August 9, 2007 02:29 AM (GMT)
anyway, very nice you guys, enjoyed reading the Q&A, kinda what i expected, but it was fairly pleasant, and im looking forward to the next one!

firebird - August 16, 2007 01:56 PM (GMT)
The next participant is Eso.

You can now PM me additional questions (PS or off-topic) you'd like to ask Eso and I'll tack them onto the interview if they're not already on there. The deadline to submit additional questions is this Friday evening (EST).

Eso - August 17, 2007 02:13 PM (GMT)
Can't wait.

Eso - August 19, 2007 03:57 PM (GMT)
I still haven't received the questions.

I think that's the reason the little fuck didn't get send you the questions yet?

firebird - August 22, 2007 05:40 PM (GMT)
Ouch, Mats. I thought I knew you... :(

Yep, sorry about that.

To ALL participants (including the person I messaged today), your interview has been pushed back 1 week later

http://z15.invisionfree.com/UCPSB/index.php?showforum=19

Sorry again.

firebird - August 24, 2007 11:26 PM (GMT)
Note: User-submitted questions are anonymous. I'm only mentioning this because I didn't get many submitted questions for Eso.

(I just sent him the interview so it's too late to submit now, but please remember for future participants. It's what users submit that make the interview more interesting, or else every interview will be generic. Thanks)

firebird - August 25, 2007 01:04 AM (GMT)
Eso's interview is now up. I only put his up early because I received it early and also because there was no interview during the prior week. Future interviews will still be posted on Mondays.

Zombo - August 25, 2007 01:07 AM (GMT)
so very good answers by eso. good luck with your future endeavors. I'm not sure what you're gonna do when you're bored at work though... :dunno:

Edge - August 25, 2007 01:35 AM (GMT)

Thanks. I'll just spin when I'm bored. As of now, I spend about 50% of my working time on UCPSB. D: D: D: I stopped posting as much as the first step towards breaking away.

[quote]27. Why are you leaving UCPSB?
I need to focus on my life. I need to move out, get a new car, and all these other things. Besides, UCPSB has been taking up a ton of my time this past 1 ˝ years. I think it’s time to move on. Of course, I’ll still be spinning and I’ll still manage RMX. I just don’t want to be distracted any further with UCPSB.

Come on, people, submit questions please. I've only received questions from 1 person so far. I know a lot of people have questions for bojo, especially when it comes to the Battle Zone. He said he'll accept any type of question.

rookee - September 6, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)
Oh fux it's my turn.
