Title: Camera Phenomena
Kazzze - August 12, 2007 01:03 AM (GMT)
Ok, im slightly ticked off, so I decided to make this thread. Do you guys ever make some cool ps video or something and when it comes to recording it, you fail miserably? I have about 10 minutes memory of video on my camera (no webcam) and all of those 10 minutes were taken up at my various attempts to just record a damn combo. I dont think its the sense of nervousness becuase you're being video taped because anyone can easily come and record without me knowing. Im sure this has happened to everyone at least once. What do you think of it or what causes it?

same thing happens when i do a small combo that looks neat and go to show someone else and all of a sudden i cant spin worth shit <_<

Yeah, that too. I friggin hate it when that happens! It's just..UGH!! :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: I remember when I was doing BA Fall like 10 times successfully and when its comes to showing my friend, I cant even do the midbak.

Yea thats why I have no vids out...

film yourself more often.. even if you don't need it..
that way you'll get used to it and it wouldn't make a difference..

I think you meant "have you evar made a cool ps combo?" that makes more sense.
That happens to me too, it takes me several tries to record a smooth, succesful combo. For me, I think it's because whenever I spin, I don't pay to much attention on when I drop, but when you record, you can't drop at all, so you notice the times you drop more, so it seems like you drop more, er... I was just kinda rambling there so whatever, not sure if I made sense...

This just happened to me today... It was all fine and stuff pre-recording, but when it got around to it, massive failure ensued for 5 minutes till I got it down (by luck).
AzNwAr3oR - August 12, 2007 03:13 AM (GMT)
Its like what platypusvictim9 said I've noticed that too.... Also you might be in a different position to film so yea.
UnEmploymentDude - August 12, 2007 03:17 AM (GMT)
Yeah, another reason why I dont film. And to solve your webcam problem, BUY A DAMN USED PS2 WEBCAM FOR $5!!!
I dont know about you guys but, I have a sixth sense of when someone is looking at me/filming me. I just start dropping once some one starts staring. <_<
CheeseLord - August 12, 2007 03:52 AM (GMT)
Really? I only drop more often when I'm asked to show something. Otherwise, I'm fine.
TayYH89 - August 12, 2007 04:00 AM (GMT)
Well, I guess the easiest way to solve this problem is not to stop recording after every failed attempt. Instead, film the video continuously while you are spinning, until you are able to get a desired one.

Actually, I believe it does have something to do with nervousness, and it's just the fact that you're aware of being filmed that makes you more prone to make mistakes, as you feel pressured to do it correctly.
Like you said, anyone can come film you without your knowledge, so that just shows that you don't feel like you have to spin perfectly for anyone as you don't know you're being filmed.
If anything, it's more of a subconscious feeling of nervousness, but you just don't think that you're nervous.
