Title: Death
Description: Do you fear it?

Peace - August 15, 2007 07:28 PM (GMT)
I could have made this a poll, but this is not a yes or no answer.

I don't think I fear death, I have nearly (accidently) poisoned myself fatally, and have also overdosed, and neither time did death particulary bother me, nor does it weigh heavily on my mind. The way I see it, death returns us to a state of perfect peace, but also marks the end of great adventure. An overall neutral trade-off I think.

How about the rest of ya'll? Do you fear it? Do you worry about it?

I don't really fear it, the only reason I don't like it is cause it can be painful and it'll make the people I like and who like me back sad.

I don't plan dying anytime soon so /shrug

ShortAssassin - August 15, 2007 07:51 PM (GMT)
Well now that you've wished it upon me I'm frightened!

Yea, same as Ivan, I don't really fear it, but I don't want it to be painful, I wish to die as swiftly and as peacefully possible. To me, it just sucks, cause I've hardly lived my life so far, I mean I have so many things left to do, get laid, become a legendary PSer, go to college, get rich lol. I mean, it can happen so abruptly, like you're out driving one night and some drunk jackass in a Semi hit's your car and you go flying off a bridge or some shit, and everything you have worked for just suddenly ends. All your aspirations are moot.

So I guess i don't fear it, but I don't want it to come.

RippDrive - August 15, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
No real fear. I mean I would rather it happen later rather than sooner. No matter what your religion there is no reason to fear dead.
If you believe in god if you die tomorrow the worst that could happen is that you are magically teleported to some kind of eternally blissful thing.
If you don't believe in god, doesn't matter when you die. Could be today or two thousand years from now. Either way it's not going to matter.

Mostly I fear things that cause death because they are generally unplesent.

Eriror - August 15, 2007 08:09 PM (GMT)
To clarify. The only thing I fear is the sadness it brings to the people I know.

I agree there, so generally I don't fear death, though I might be afraid once I actually face it..

I embrace death, it's not like I want to die, but it's like I would love to experience everything. I would like to live long and have many experiences, but I would also like to move on in into the afterlife.

I do not fear death, I fear what will happen to friends and family after death.

After my dad died last month, I cannot pick up the phone because it may be that someone is hurt. I'm a complete mess right now.

I fear death. More generally, I fear what I don't know, what I can't understand. I don't know what happens after death and to willingly face it takes a bit more bravery than you think. What YOU'RE thinking is a nice peaceful death in your sleep, the kind you get after you've experienced most of what you wanted to do in life. But what if you died in a week? Tomorrow? And there you are, living your life normally, not knowing death can come shortly. That's what I think of when young people die....they were just there living their life. If a random stranger walked up to them minutes before they dropped dead and asked if they were afraid of death, they would probably say no, because it's soo far off. If they suddenly knew they would die in 10 minutes, would that answer change? Mine would, because I'm just not ready for it, I haven't done all I want to do. So yes, I do fear death.
