I'm ordering some pencils that need to be delivered to my friend's US address, and I've been given the following options for shipping:

UPS Ground Commercial
UPS Ground Residential
Next Day Air
Next Day Air Saver
2nd Day Air
3 Day Select Commercial
3 Day Select Residential

It needs to be delivered to him by 10 days time, and I want to use the cheapest service (which I take to be the one that takes the longest to deliver as well). I'm guessing that I should pick the UPS Ground Residential option, but I just want to make sure.

So if anyone could tell me the best option for me, and around how much it would cost (6 packs of 12 pencils) to deliver, and approximately how long it would take I'd very appreciate their help. Thank you.

Sending to the US? If you sending from Singapore a typical air mail should take around 2 weeks to arrive there. Well, I've never done UPS mailing either. But I guess that's the cheapest option available for a fast shipping eh?

Oops...forgot to say that I've already made the transaction lol, used Ground Residential since it was the cheapest.

And it was to the US from the US, since it was a US company making the pencils. I'm sending the pencils to my friend's address over there so he can deliver them to me when he flies here soon.

I've received packages from Hong Kong via UPS ground to the east coast in around 10 days. Domestic shipments can range from 4-7 days depending on the day you ship it. I imagine you'll meet your 10 day deadline unless the plane/truck carrying your package crashes :lol:.

On another note, does anyone know how long first class international usually takes from the US to japan?

UPS Ground takes 5-7 days MAX. Should be no problem at all.

@Tay: It's mad expensive to ship pencils from US to SG. Mad expensive.
