Same. I also find it much easier to teach it that way and to generally do thumbaround because it already conditions you to do it in other positions or with index push only.

yup thats him. i actually bought the book of cool some time back now, he was incredibly *modest, he didnt even say that he invented the backaround in the tutorial for it. i wonder what he does nowadays he seems to have disappeared into outer space.

Using the Ring finger in Thumbaround is excessive. No need to bring in any more fingers than is necessary for a Fundamental. The Thumb, Index and Middle fingers do a fine job of hold the pen all by themselves.
