Title: UCPSB Hall of Honor
Description: 2nd Video Completed
DkGamer - April 15, 2006 04:13 AM (GMT)
Well, this is only my second time editing a video, so don't expect too much >.<
Basic InformationThis collaboration was planned by me a month ago after I had finished my first video. The editing was done by me[so if you have to flame someone flame me >.<], this collaboration was kept as a secret collab until it was released, which is now.
This collaboration video was finished in a duration of 2 weeks. So, it was actually a really "rushed" video. I apologise to the spinners in this video again for rushing them to finish their videos. Because I really wanted to get this done before my school starts.
Detailed informationSpinners [Not in Order]
Skatox
DkGamer
A_Qui
Patte
TurbulentTurtle
Nigel
Romainhxc
Eriror
Video runtime: Approx. 3mins 30secs
Video Size: 11.66mb
Video Format: .wmv
Duration: 2 weeks
Music: Destination Blackout by Yuzo Koshiro
Time taken for editing: 4-5 hours
Special ThanksI would like to thank all spinners who had participated in this video and had handed in their videos on time.
Yuzo Koshiro for his music
@TurbulentTurtle
For helping me on contacts and some video downloads.
And everyone who made this possible
Final CommentsI wanted this collaboration to be a little different from the other videos. I am not sure if I had actually achieved that, or whether if it was a good or bad thing. This video will probably remain as one of my favourite videos.
I would like to apologise to the other spinners who were not included in this video. I could not include everyone or else the video would have been too long. But to include more people in this collaboration, I would be planning a Part 2 of this UCPSB Hall of Honor anytime soon. So please check your PM's in case you got a mail :P.

Picked them..... I have no idea how the other boards picked their spinners. I picked the people based on their recents videos they have done and the comments that they have received from the public. If thats not the way to do it, I'll do the right way on the 2nd part of this collaboration.

Positive Comments

Bad Comments..
feels too long for 8 Pser.
1 pser not that good for Hall of Fame... sry.
TurbulentTurtle - April 15, 2006 04:44 AM (GMT)
Well Joshy, your comments are welcome, but please try to be less general. You could tell us what you didn't like and specifics so Dkgamer could improve for next time.
As for me. I really like it, and the way you organized the vids and stuff was unique. Awesome editing skills and effects.
Rocky - April 15, 2006 04:49 AM (GMT)

Oooh, nice video, I liked patte's combo the best. Nice editing too.
Skatox's combo was kinda cool the way it was all slow. It would have looked better if it was smoother, though.

yes.... i slowed down skatox's combo.... thats what i did for the update anyway.
Eriror - April 15, 2006 07:21 AM (GMT)
Eep.
Awesome video, as I told you before, DkGamer! ^_^ You really did a great job. Great that you let Patte in, just before you finished editing the vid. Nice white table, eh? :D
Really, I enjoyed it. I'm anticipating the next one! ;)
Skatox - April 15, 2006 08:08 AM (GMT)
right that the editing effects are quite long, to fit well with the music I suppose...Anyway, the collab is still very impressive, the combos are valoured by the time we have to wait to see them :lol:
I suppose Joshy's speaking of my combo, which sure is not of the general level of the collab... you know you should let the name out, as long it's your point of view and not a personal offense, criticizings are welcome ;)
For my part, I like the slow motion DkGamer used on my video, it looks still better than the original video...
And the very best I've seen in the vid...I'm not sure, between Patte and A_Qui, Patte for speed and smoothness, A_Qui for the style and some cool linkages ( linkings or linkages ? )...Romain is also great, but I will not go against his own thoughts about his combo :rolleyes:
Yiep - April 15, 2006 08:19 AM (GMT)
If you're doing a 2nd Hall of Honor I would like to see auditions instead. Many people, including me, doesn't show up very often in every collab. But I still don't dissagree with whom you chosen. Anyway, talents are often hidden until a breaktrough, and those breaktroughs might come anytime. Therefore I'd like to se auditions. Or maybe I've missunderstood this Hall of Honor thing. It is suposed to show the very elite of the board right? Or is it to show the most loyal members?
Bah, enough of that crap.
The editing was awesome! Really nicely done! And I like you kept the same style as in your Rewind, it gives your editingstyle a character. The only thing I would like to say is that the ending screen was kinda'... disappointing. To much text, and then "The end" or what it said all over the logo. Nah, I'd rather see a Photoshop image as the once in the begining instead.
And does I think this collab is something new and diffrent? Hell yeah! Your style with all the slowmos, the black and white pictures etc. etc. is something I find new to pen spinning editing. And I like it =)
Argh! This post sounds like I'm pissed that I didn't get in, but no! If I would get in, I would not get this nice suprice! It's one of the best collabs I've seen from UCPSB.
Keep it up!
Scelus - April 15, 2006 08:29 AM (GMT)
o_O
oh my god , the vid was so good !!
The video was awesome , my favorite combo was A_Qui :o
I liked the music and the editing is very very great.
Good work at all.
Enjoy.
DkGamer - April 15, 2006 08:39 AM (GMT)
Thanks everyone.... for the comments I would like to highlight some stuff >.<
@Joshy
Yes, I would agree that the video was kinda a little too long for 8 spinners in this collaboration. But what I actually did in this video, was to show the credits in the middle rather than at the back. I wanted to build up the suspense before releasing the videos to see. It's like a meal, where you start something small, show what will be coming up next, and you get the full blast of it.
And for that pen spinner.... well I think everyone in the collaboration did a really great job. I enjoyed working with them in this collaboration although it was a "rushed" collaboration. But we all have different views on what we see are good or no good.
Thank you for your comment :)
@Rocky
Link updated :P Sorry for the wait.
@Skatox
Well, if you had seen the previous one I uploaded, than yes. But this uploaded video was the one I updated not too long ago. One note, I really liked how your video turned out, the slow motion fits really well with the music and your combo was really smooth to begin with.
Thank you for your comment
@Eriror
My only regret was not being able to let Michael into the video. But all the same, at least Patte was able to participate into this collaboration.
Thanks for the comments
@Yiep
I have not yet planned out on how I should choose to select the people for the continuation of this collaboration. But I might have a audition for this collaboration. The judges however, will be kept confidential unless they want to be named.
I would have to agree on the ending. But my main purpose of this video "Theme" was UCPSB and I thought that the best ending was to be done with the UCPSB logo[or is it?] I guess that putting up that website was a bad idea. Or I should have deleted the title and just placed the website url. But I WILL work harder on my endings next time.
~"It's one of the best collabs I've seen from UCPSB."
Thank you for saying this. It means alot to me.
@Scelus
Thanks :)
Well, I thank everyone for their comments. I will try to work harder to produce better videos in future according to what this community wants.
Thanks,
DkGamer

you should have edited your post instead of double posting. But,regarding your question....
I have no idea what genre of music I have used. I just chose the music that would fit the idea that I had.

Rocky - April 15, 2006 02:21 PM (GMT)
No problem with having to wait for the video. That means you're making it better than it already was before.
That was a great video. Nice editing by DkGamer. My favorite video in there was Skatox's. It just looked kind of weird but cool.

That wasn't rock or punk music.
Excellent transitions between spinners. For a second I thought I was high while watching the video because everything was in slow motion. I'm not a fan of the matrix effects though because the video seemed to drag on. Without those effects there'd be more time available to show more spinners. Does everyone really need to be introduced twice? I think the "FAITH CONFIDENCE INTEGRITY UNITY HONOR" part would have been better placed at the climax of the video (and music).
killsburydohboy - April 15, 2006 11:47 PM (GMT)
Wow, great collab and editing DKgamer. The credits in the middle thing was cool, and the words coming up FAITH HONOR, etc. was awesome. Everybody had really good combos, but I just want to know, how many people are supposed to be in a HoH, is there a defined number or is it just how good the people are? I'm not complaining, all those people deserve to be in, but I wanted to know if you decided on 8 and then picked the best 8 people on UCPSB, or if you decided on the people and then made the collab.
DkGamer - April 16, 2006 01:49 AM (GMT)
Alot of people seems to be asking me on how the eight people were chosen.
Here was how I chose the people
1. Based on their recent performances in collabs such as the ucpsb II and other collabs
2. Based on the comments received by people through the forums
3. Based on how long they have been spinning[This only provides a very little amount of advantage]
4. And importantly, based on their attitudes on the boards. The reason why I had the 5 virtues on the collab was because I believed that no matter how good a pen spinner is, he should have at least the basic virtues to be respected by other pen spinners. Without that, there is no point being placed on the video without having a good attitude.
5. And yes, I DID chose the people in this collaboration. I MAY be having auditions for part 2 of this collaboration.
6. There were supposed to be 11 people on this video, but 1 did not have enough time, one as I mentioned earlier, Michael, could not make it and the other, had problems with the video.
@S-L Mafia
The reason was not because I wanted to introduce anyone twice. It was mainly because the credits were placed in the middle of the collaboration to suit the music. If I had placed the video at the middle, the spinning would not have suited the music at all. Nevertheless, some may argue that I could have edited the music. But as I have said in the recent post, I wanted this collaboration video to be different from the others. That was why I placed the credits in the middle instead of the ending of the collaboration.
But your comments was well received. Thank you for your comment.
@killsburydohboy
Your question is answered :) Please refer to the top of this post
P.S Keep the comments rolling >.<
Thank you,
