I've looked at the master thread list and number of other pen spinning sites, but they have nothing on the wiper (and wiper rev). It's something I've decided to learn after watching a few of Eriror's videos. Anyone mind explaining the wiper to me? Eriror's wipers are just too sexy.

Try looking through the breakdown thread. Find a breakdown with an infinity or wiper it, then refer to the video, and copy what you see.


Figure 8= wiper rev>wiper.

Wiper reverse swings down i believe, so the normal one swings up.


Someone correct me if I'm wrong. As for an explanation, hold the pen on the end, in t1, then swing it up, YAY, you did a wiper!!!!!

If you take a look at the infinity thread You'll see some discussion of wipers there. A wiper is simply the motion you make in an infinity before the pen changes slots.

For example, hold the pen at the tip between T1 pointing up. Now let it fall down, like you're starting an infinity, but don't pass it to 12. That is a wiper (rev I think). You probably already do them without realizing it. Another good example of their use is the cardoid.

I never bothered to learn the infinity, but I think I might pick it up then. Anyone have a a good video of wipers/infinities? Since you can do wipers in every finger, is there such a thing as a wiper...fall?

Oh, thanks. So... a wiper is just a downwards/upwards swing done by holding the pen between any 2 fingers?

more or less... it should be noted that it can be done on any axis though, not just vertically. IE, you can do it horizontally, or however you want. Its basically a swing of the pen though.

Picture windshield wipers on a car. Works like those, where your fingers are the point where they connect to the hood. (that would be wiper harmonic really...)

Windshield Wiper is actully a seperate trick from Wiper. Its named confusingly, but its something Tohlz came up with... basiclly involves flipping the hand over with minimal pen movement as shown in that video.

P.S. probably my bad for using the car wipers as an analogy, if that confuses you then ignore it.
