Hmm. Well there isn't a poll. Huroni's video wasn't incredibly smooth, and TLD, I dunno what you were thinking doing aerials in a smoothness battle.

man i hate how people say my pen is too big -_- lol i read somewhere that the pen should be from top of middle finger to bottom of palm, but i dont want to spin a 16 cm pen.. :P i just spin the pen i spin best with and looks teh best, a slightly shortened BCMX (my mod). The video i put in this time wasnt so good but thats ok :P its all fun right?

First of all, I know it's not a smoothness battle, but having a smooth combo is still important. BTW, your video wasn't smooth, either, it's just that infinities and aerials aren't really on the same level as the tricks you did, Huroni.

On the pen/hand size. Size of your hand has nothing to do with the size of pen you should use. Why should people with smaller hands have to suffer loses in momentum? :dunno:

Think about the people who spin RSVP mini's! Who knows how big their hands are! So yeah, didn't get my full point across, but I just needed to say this. From this point on, I will record the size of the people I battle, and ask for their hand size, and pen size. It may be difficult, and some spinners will not agree, but fairness measures must be taken. And besides, this was originally a smoothness battle, but TLD asked me to change it, so I did. So, due to this fact, I may leave UCPSB in the near future. You may see me in collabs and I may come back to visit. I know many of you don't care, due to the fact that I am not really known here, or due to the fact that I am one of the only black penspinners here, so yeah. Just needed to say that. BTW. To all those people that say they can't spin with a pen the size of the bottom of their hand to the tip of the middle finger, that's complete bull shit. My pen is 2.5 cm smaller than my hand. The reason you can't spin with a smaller pen (or wand) is because you guys are depending on your pen too much, and you don't practice with a smaller pen.

In my opinion you did win for that very reason, because both combos were about technically even. I voted for you. And if this battle had taken place a couple years ago, you would've definitely won. But the ethos of the PS community is different these days. Most people don't care about pen size, just how the combo looks.

Just to clarify, this is only true for those who are used to spinning long pens. For those who began learning with regular-sized pens (i.e. nearly everyone at early UPSB), it's not too much of an adjustment to switch back and forth.

Maybe you guys use shorter pens for that reason, but let me tell you something. The first mods made were normal length. And while spinners used longer pens to initially get the feel of difficult tricks, eventually they would master the tricks on a normal-sized pen and film using said pen. It had nothing to do with impressiveness. If anything, people use longer pens for this fallacious reason, not shorter pens.

Hand size has nothing to do with it, no matter what anyone says. When your pen is approaching 20+ cm, it's considered long no matter how big or small your hands are.

You seriously are over reacting. This is a damn pen spinning battle. And how are we supposed to choose someone who won WITHOUT using favoritism? Can we vote for both of you?
Does the pen size really matter? You had to learn the trick in the first place, and I'm sure that TLD has done all the tricks that were in his combo with a much shorter pen. The point of modding a pen is to make it better to spin, right? So if TLD thinks that a long pen helps him spin better, that's fine with me.
And finally, for Huroni, why are you freaking out after people said they liked your combo?

No offence huroni (or TLDscorp), but I think you both missed the point of the battle to begin with. I hope I'm not hurting your feelings here, but both the videos were rather pathetic. Huroni, you had WAY to many pauses. TLD, yours was just boring and ugly. I voted for TLD, due to the small amount of aesthetic appeal that came with his combo. Sorry guys. You both know I like your spinning (I hope you do anyway), but this was a poor showing of it.
As for pens... simply put some pens are easier for some people to spin than others. This is generally taken into acount when determining the difficulty of the combo. Its as simple as that.
An easy way around this is simply to agree before hand to both spin the same pen, or have some sort of limitation. Or simply make it clear in the first post not to consider the pen.

I can spin it just as good but it stilll looks big in my hands but o well xD. As for my video, i said in an ealier post that i didnt htink it was too good. Diddnt really try that hard :( sorry :P im kinda busy practicin for NGS, ill battle once in a while tho, just to show my improvements to everyone.
