Deadline for all sign ups: September 14, 2007

Phase 1
-Gather distributors and finalize list of distributors
-All members locate their distributor and PM them. Write how many pens you want and your address
-All members discuss with their distributor on how to pay for shipping and handling

Phase 2
-After the deadline passes, distributors give me their list of names and how many pens each want. That is it
-I will count the total number of pens to see if the demand is higher than the supply
-If there are too many demands, I will cut people OR reduce number of pens per person at my discretion
-I will send the distributors the revised list

Phase 3
-I send all the pens to the distributors
-I calculate all the costs and bill the distributors. They will pay me through PayPal
-The total price will be handed over to the distributors and they will keep a running total for EACH member they send to

Notice to Members
-Do NOT post in this thread saying that you want to sign up. Comments are welcome but if you wish to participate, check this thread to see if your country or state's distributor is listed. If one is not listed, then have patience or volunteer to become a distributor.

Eligibility
-You must have the ability to pay for your shipping and handling
-Members of UCPSB with a known reputation will have higher priority over lurkers and non-UCPSB members


S&H
The pens are free, however you must pay for shipping and handling. The most efficient way of distributing the pens to a large mass is to delegate the task onto state or country distributors. The distributors will pay me and then receive a box of pens. After that, the distributors are responsible for their state or country's pens. What this means to you, the member, only have to pay one time to your distributor. How much you have to pay depends on several factors: how many people are in the state or country, how much it costs to send the box of pens, and how much it costs for the distributor to send your pens to you. In summary, here's how much you have to pay:

(Price to send to state or country / (Number of people - 1 distributor)) * (Exchange Rate)
+ price of envelope
+ price to send to you

Total balance due

The first item will be calculated in USD. The remaining 2 items will be calculated in your own currency. I will convert the first item into your currency. The distributors will be responsible for keeping tabs on how much it costs individually and then will notify you of your price. How you send the money will be negotiated with your distributor privately.
Please understand that in order to calculate the correct prices, we must send the packages first. This requires a level of trust, so please do not skip out on payment with your distributor, and distributors do not skip out on me. If you wish to overestimate the pricing, then that is fine.

Distributors
-You must have PayPal so you can pay me for the bulk S&H.
-You must be trustworthy to send the pens to each person.
-You must be trustworthy to keep honest track of each person's bill.
-You are responsible for giving me the list of all participants in their state or country.
If you think you fit these requirements, please post in the forums and tell which state or country you will be distributing to. I am expecting all distributors to hand in any lists to me when asked and to keep honesty a priority.

Supply and Demand
There are only 1,000 pens available and with a maximum of 4 pens per person, so at least 250 people will receive the pens.
If the demand is higher than the supply, then I will start cutting people from the giveaway. People with lower priority, such as non-UCPSB members and UCPSB lurkers with hardly any forum activity, will be cut.
If the demand is lower than the supply, I will have extras around. This will be not be announced until after the entire giveaway is finished.

Those Without Distributors
If you find after a while that your state or country does NOT have a distributor, and that you are the only pen spinner in your area, you can PM me. Of course, you MUST have a way to pay me for S&H.
An alternative is to ask a distributor NEAR your state or country and see if he/she is willing to ship to your area. All costs will be calculated accordingly.

I can be a distributor for NC and surround areas.

My mom found the stash of pens and I had to lie to her saying that I was selling them. Then she kept asking more questions on how exactly I was selling them and all of the figures involved. AAARRRGH! Nosy as hell. :(

Got 4 distributors so far. Remember, the deadline is Sept. 14. I would like to have all of the pens out by the end of September.

I'm a brand new member, and I don't know if you'd call me trustworthy, but I can either pay you for just my pens, or wait until someone signs up as a distributor for Massachusetts.

If no one else does, I guess I will. I have a lot of experience with trades through the mail, both international and States side.

Is September 14th the deadline for distributors to sign up or all people?

Well, I haven't agreed to it just yet because he doesn't have PayPal. If someone else does not step up and claim the distributor role by a certain time, then I'll make UED distributor.

No, I don't. So far, it seems less than 500 pens are going out. Not as many participants as I hoped for. I guess many aren't too hot for the colors. :dunno:
