Title: Ds Homebrew
kensai - August 31, 2007 04:13 PM (GMT)
To all those Nintendo DS owners (yes! I got mine yesterday!): do you know any good homebrew apps? In particular I'm looking for a web browser, but Okiwi is incomplete and the linux one, well, runs on linux (which I don't know how to use).
Also, recommend your favourite games :dunce: (homebrew or not)

You can't do any homebrew on a DS without a DS flashcard...

Heh heh well I bought an R4 together with my DS, so no problem there. Hmm btw do I need to update the DIDL firmware/driver thing? I still don't know whether its an update for the DS hardware itself or just the flashcard...

You gotta buy Nintendo DS R4 if you wanna put shit on your DS.
Games I suggest: Elite Beat Agents, NEW Super Mario Bros, Tetris DS, Mario Kart DS, Advanced Wars DS, and probably Animal Crossing. Some sick new games are coming out like Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, Worms, MySims, and Jam Sessions.

Alright, thanks for the suggestions :dunce:

DSOrganize and moonshell are probably the two best homebrew apps out there right now.
DSOrganizeMoonshellIf you haven't updated your R4 firmware yet, you probably should now, or else some newer games won't run.
I don't know much about DLDI, except that there's different .dldi patch files for each flash card, and you need to patch some homebrew with them so that they can run.
DSLinux is the best you can do for a web browser, you'd probably be waiting for Okiwi for a long time.
Edit: Oh, and favourite games:
Phoenix Wright
Phoenix Wright 2
Phoenix Wright 3 (Not out in english, but the jap version has an english version in it)
Lost Magic
Mario Kart DS
Dragon Quest Heroes
