hmm, i love my metabolism, but I hate it too :banghead:

I can eat a whole rack of ribs and gain like 1 pound, and I eat junk food every chance I get. The problem is I'm a scrawny little punk, yet I can't gain any weight TT.TT

I eat so much junk food......its ridiculous, like a soda every 5 minutes....

if im not working 2 school chicken patties and a chocolate milk
weekends - various fast food - 1 meal a day
i try to stick to healthier fast foods
today i had culvers, never tried it before

Had a similar problem for awhile, started taking whey protein and it works wonders. Was 100 two years ago, now I'm 150 and decently strong.

And I have junk food addiction too.

I eat everything and more than most people but I have a good metabolism and I exercise atleast an hour a day now that school started.

Dude, if you are going to do the army thing you will regret not working out when you still had the chance. Not only that but if you are in bad enough shape your training may be delayed. The way they work it up here is if you are not in good physical condition you have to train until you can pass the test.

Also, try your best to never fall out of a run. That's just a horrible feeling. Just be in good enough shape to avoid that at the least. I only ever fell out of one run before and it sucked ass.

You don't need to work out to put on weight. You just need to lead a sedentary lifestyle. I thought I was immune to weight gain due to my metabolism. Then during the past 6 months I put on 30 pounds. Once you begin university the weight will just naturally add on.

I've been immune to gaining weight for as long as I've been alive. Then again, I hardly eat. I tend to starve myself because I'm busy doing stupid shit like watching YouTube or browsing these forums. Even when I do eat a lot, I don't gain any weight. Yep, my fast ass metabolism is still there.

I'm bored so I'll write some useless facts.

We all need consume a certain amount of calories to keep our bodies running. That amount is based on your Basal Metabolic Rate. For example, using this calculator as rough estimate of my BMR, for myself I come up with 1726.0 calories per day at 5'11, 145pounds, and moderate physical activity.

To gain weight you need to eat more calories than your BMR. A recommended amount is to eat an extra 500 to 1000 calories. Where that extra weight goes depends on your activity levels. If you lift and work out, a majority of that extra weight is converted into muscle. If you sit around that extra weight is converted into fat.

To lose weight you eat less than your BMR. Around 500 calories less than your BMR is considered a SAFE amount. I wouldn't recommend eatting less than that. Also, when you eat less than your BMR, your body goes into conservation mode and your metabolism slows down. This is why it's important to exercise to maintain your metabolism while dieting.
