Title: Replacement for HGG tip
Description: EASY TO FIND!!!
InhumanElmo - April 19, 2006 01:01 AM (GMT)
I was on an ambicious (Sp?) quest to find an easy to find pen, where I could make good spinable pens at a relatively cheap cost. I found a couple OLD (Im not sure about the new ones) Papermate Flexgrips. I found a Retractable, and a stick pen. The tip unscrews and has the threads on the outside. I took some pliers and started to (with the little cutting edges) cut the metal off. It cut through one of the threads, and bent it, but the bottom of the threads like "snap" off!! They come off clean, and are relatively the same weight!! Just glue it on the end (or however you like to put your HGG tips on), and slide a G2 grip over it, and there ya go! Finally I can make a bunch of spinable pens!!!

You can sand those too...
But I prefer my Signo-G2 MX... :D The original "RSVP MX" is too light, I can only spin it 20% of the time. Maybe less.

Im still undecided about what weight of pen I like more. I can do TAs better with a heavier pen, but with a lighter pen I can execute tricks faster. I like them all, except for REALLY light pens. Those just suck.

The Hybrid H2 is available to me and uses the same tip as the HGG. That's the tip I use for my AMMX.

I've actually used those tips before. I would rather use the ones from the Signo Gels though.

Well today I found one of the new Flexgrip Elites (The newer version) and they work just the same. The only thing I have witj the newer tips, is that they don't go as far down the tip as the old ones. And they don't work on sunbursts. I am still on the lookout for a replacement for the HGG tip and a better grip.

well, for my MX, since i don't have HGG's available to me, i bought the zebra silver select. the tip of the pen literally snaps onto the tip of an rsvp and the grip is amazing. the only problem i had with the tip was it breaking off (due to being an idiot and dropping it on a table) like...1 cm of the plastic on the rsvp tip to where it wouldn't snap on anymore. another problem being that you might have to re-snap the tip on every once in a while because it's not permanent.
