http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/ma...gue-two-playoffSimeon Jackson headed a last-minute winner to secure an immediate return to League One for Gillingham. The Canadian had been uncharacteristically subdued as his team had the better of a tense League Two play-off final but he bounded onto centre stage in the 90th minute to send a Josh Wright corner into the net and shatter Shrewsbury hearts.

Thats what I'm talking about!!! 2 goals in the semi finals and the winner here aswell. Some people said he wasn't good enough to play here, but I beg to differ, he may not have impressed in the U-20s, but 21 goals in a season(yeah yeah, it's league 2 I know) for a 21 year old is pretty awesome. plus I played with him for 3 years on the Mississauga falcons so I may be a bit biased, but good luck to the man, he's got a great future ahead of him yet, but to promote your team in the 90th minute, thrilling.

He's on a nice roll heading into the Cyprus match next week.

And does it again today, scoring in the 42nd minute against Plymouth Argyle. Four goals (and an assist) in one and a half games.

Due to international callups, Canadian goalkeeper Jordan Santiago is on the bench for Cardiff.

^ Never heard of him.
Jackson scored three in his opener for Gillingham in league one on the weekend. V's board says apparently Charlton is interested, but Gillingham is unlikely to sell.

All Simeon's goals for Gillingham so far...... not including his 4 this season. it's an 8 minute montage and you have to bare with the music, but some nice goals in there.

Here are his first three (and his very impressive assist) from this season:

Bumping so I don't have to look at the British holding midfielders name on the main page.

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson has admitted he may struggle to keep hold of in-form striker Simeon Jackson.
Jackson, 22, has scored four goals in two games, following up his opening day hat-trick with a goal in their 2-1 Carling Cup win over Plymouth.
"I looked at that list of scouts, there were some big teams here [watching him]," Stimson told BBC Radio Kent.

Tottenham Hotspur's first-team coach Joe Jordan was among those at Priestfield on Tuesday.
And Stimson said: "He's come for a reason hasn't he?
"I don't know what, but he hasn't just driven down to Gillingham to make the numbers up and spend a night out. He's come to watch something. |
