You going to hook us all up with tv/internet stream coverage? ;)

The high(er) profile opponent should make it an easier match to watch over here.

Now the question is... who do we call???
Do we hope guys like Lensky and Hoilett come out for a run?? Do we pick a MLS free side? A Full squad??
OR just go out there with an experimental side?
All I know is the less chance of us seeing the game, the better chance we have to win. Under 40 Fifa Ranking here we come!!

|
Especially if we want to call a keeper that's playing regularly - the only one under the age of 40 (ie. not Pat Onstad) is David Monsalve, who I think is currently back-stopping his Finnish team all the way to the Finnish Cup final
SSK - October 29, 2009 02:01 AM (GMT)
Awesome! We're so gonna smoke the Poles!
:o
Beardo Dave - October 29, 2009 02:20 AM (GMT)
I was waiting for that one...
SSK - October 29, 2009 02:41 AM (GMT)
What's wrong with my calculations?
Using:
http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/fifafacts/...calculation.pdfP = M x I x T x C x 100
M: 3, 1, 0 (points for W, D, L)
I: importance of match = 1
T: strength of opposition; [200 - rank]/100
T_mk = [200-66]/100 = 1.34
T_pl = [200-56]/100 = 1.44
C: strength of confederation (avg. of CONCACAF & UEFA)
C = [1 + 0.85]/2 = 0.925
mk
ITCx100 = 1 x 1.34 x 0.925 x 100 = 123.95
W = 123.95 x 3 = 371.85
D = 123.95 x 1 = 123.95
pl
ITCx100 = 1 x 1.44 x 0.925 x 100 = 133.2
W = 133.2 x 3 = 399.6
D = 133.2 x 1 = 133.2
Max number of points: mk win + pl win = 371.85 + 399.6 = 771.45

Poland is in total disarray after crashing out of WC qualifying. The last two games were attended by about 4000 people after the supporters organised a huge boycott. Lato sacked Beenhakker. Beenhakker called Lato a drunk.... its a total shit show!
Expect a very experimental line-up by whoever is running the show by then.

Just like...oh wait, that wasn't huge....
So would it be wrong of me to wear my Polska tank top under my Canada t-shirt?? :crazy:

It would be only OK if you were to take a pic of yourself in it, and post it in this thread.
B-)
In any case, because Poland crashed and burned during the WC qualifying process, and interest in the national side is at an all time low, I doubt this match will get even 5,000 fans, boycott or not.
I'll be watching Ukraine hand it to the Greeks on the 18th ... ;)

For what its worth, Boniek has basically said that the only reason PZPN selected Smuda as the new coach was to appease the supporters;

Just hooked up .... and what is the first thing I see? Yup. Damnitall.

Ah...then you also missed Lars dribbling through traffic about 25 yards out of his own goal :crazy:
transplant - November 18, 2009 04:32 PM (GMT)
Poland freekick goal called back for offside. Lars came out waving at it like it was a pigeon in his kitchen.
SeanKeay - November 18, 2009 04:34 PM (GMT)
Can we change goalies right now? :)

Anyone know of a good stream in english?
transplant - November 18, 2009 05:01 PM (GMT)
There was supposed to be a sopcast one, but it isn't on there, so it's Polish for me.

Thanks. I'll let you guys know if I find one. I'm at work and can't actually watch, so for now I'll just wait 'til I hear GOALLLLLL.
transplant - November 18, 2009 05:18 PM (GMT)
Not t beat a dead horse, but that last corner was about the 4th time that Lars has entirely misjudged the flight of a ball and missed it completely when coming out.
Terrifying.
Rudi - November 18, 2009 05:21 PM (GMT)
Canada looking a lot better in the second half so far.
Radzinski, Peters and De Guzman are very impressive going forward.

If you have Sopcast, you can try this one:
sop://broker1.sopcast.com:3912/80258
EDIT: it's pretty good quality too.
chief. - November 18, 2009 05:45 PM (GMT)
thanks.. haven't installed sopcast on my new computer yet..
SeanKeay - November 18, 2009 05:56 PM (GMT)
Very strong 2nd half from what i watched 45-70min then 80m-ft
We pressed more on the backs of the strikers and won the ball more, which lead to more attacks. Good change by Hart and not a bad result.... we just need a goalkeeper and a right back and a centreback
Nana and Hailnault? hell Davey Edgar!
transplant - November 18, 2009 06:06 PM (GMT)
The links from D to mid were good, and the wing play was great, but the defending looked frightening. And Lars. o Lars.
Entertaining match at least, but another shutout loss. ugh.
Aljarov - November 18, 2009 06:25 PM (GMT)
It was a weak Polish side, even by Polish side terms....Poor first half, Canada seldom looked like scoring. So shaky at the back at times and lars looked like a keeper who isn't playing club football....it's not news, but it's becoming a massive issue. Of course, 4 years to sort it out.....who knows what will happen in that time.

i wish we would cap him before he starts "feeling" too "english" <_<
Jarrek - November 18, 2009 10:19 PM (GMT)
Yeah, that Polish side was mostly players from the Polish Ekstraklasa. Poland B team.
