Man: Your city boy's gone. You done slumming with the locals? Did you kiss him? Did you? After all I've given you, after all I've let you have?
Marianna: "You let me have"? That's the way you treat me, huh? That's the way you see me -- like a dog -- como una perra! I've worked day and night for you here --
Man: Nothing's going to change, and you know why!
Marianna: Yeah, because you told me lies, because you made promises for me to come here! And now you use me to bring in the male clientele because I'm "good for business"! Well, you know what? I am done. Se acabo, me voy.
Man: You don't want to be good for business? I'll make sure you're not good for anything.
[Marianna screams]
Ric: Hey! Get the hell away from her!
--------------------
Ric: Get your hands off of her.
Man: Turn around and walk out of here, city boy.
Marianna: Randy, no!
Randy: This is not your business.
Marianna: Ric, no, he --
Ric: It is now. Ugh! Ugh!
Marianna: No, Randy, stop!
Randy: Agh!
Ric: Come here.
[Randy groans]
Ric: We'll lock up for you. Agh. Come on. I want you to come with me.
Marianna: No, I'm not! No.
-------------------------------------
Marianna: I don't need your help. I can take care of myself.
Ric: I'm sorry I got in the middle of that whole thing, but that guy was all over you.
Marianna: Go back home! You owe me nothing, okay? Why -- why did you even come back here?
Ric: When I left, I was so concerned about Kristina that I didn't leave you my number in case you needed to get ahold of me. Look, Marianna, I knew -- I knew when I left here and I said "goodbye for now," that you didn't believe it. I -- I knew you thought that I was walking out of here and I wasn't going to turn back. Why? Why? Because that's exactly what you've come to expect from a guy like Randy. How have you gotten involved with a guy like that?
Marianna: Because I had no idea he was "a guy like that." Okay, I believed all the things he said, or I just wanted to believe them so much. But I'm stronger now, I'm smarter now!
Ric: I just want to help you get out from underneath this.
Marianna: It's not that simple.
Ric: You have a cut on your head; I've got to take you to the hospital.
Marianna: No, I can't, I can't! I can't just walk away.
Ric: That's exactly what you need to do. You need to walk away from this so that you can figure out where to go from here.
Marianna: It's not that simple.
Ric: I am not going to let him hurt you again, okay?
Marianna: You don't get it! He can have me deported!
-------------
Ric: Okay.
Marianna: Things were getting really dangerous where I lived in Venezuela. And that's when I met Randy, and he seemed to be the answer to all my prayers. I didn't know English very well; I couldn't read it at all. So he arranged to get me a visa to come into this country and he gave me the papers to sign, and, you know, I -- I just got --
Ric: Yeah, that's when you figured out he wasn't the guy you thought he was.
Marianna: He made so many promises. And then I get here, and all he wants me to do is work here in the coffee shop or -- and then go home and be his housekeeper and – and anything else he wanted me to do at night. You know, he didn't even pay me enough to get by. He said I owed him thousands of dollars because of what he had done to get me the visa to get into this country. He didn't want me to go out, he didn't want me to make friends, he didn't --
Ric: He wanted an indentured servant.
Marianna: If he imagined me being interested in another man, he would get so angry, and the anger would turn into violence. And that's when I decided I -- I have to leave.
Ric: It's okay.
Marianna: And that's when I found out that he had filed false information. And so the government would be able to throw me out of the country, even though I haven't done anything wrong.
Ric: Okay, I'm going to straighten this out, whatever the problem is.
Marianna: Your immigration doesn't work like that. They're not going to care that a foolish girl believed the wrong guy.
Ric: Marianna, I'm an attorney, this is what I do, okay? Maybe not immigration law, but I'm going to find you the best. You're going to get your life back and you are going to live it the way you want to live it.
Marianna: I don't deserve this.
-------------------------------
Ric: You know, you're so used to people telling you that you don't deserve anything that you're starting to believe it. But you deserve to be happy. Hey -- I don't want anything from you that you don't want to give willingly. I didn't want to leave the vineyard, okay? I wanted to stay here. I wanted to stay here, I wanted to get to know more about you and what this could be. But I -- I have to go because my -- my stepdaughter, Kristina, needs me, and you need help.
Marianna: No, but it's too much to ask, I just --
Ric: Listen to me, let's -- can we not -- can we not think about anything but right now?
Marianna: Okay.
Ric: You trust me?
Marianna: Yes.
Ric: Hey -- I'm not
