Title: C# Video Tutorials : Session 1
Description: My new series

iceklown - February 28, 2008 08:16 PM (GMT)
I mentioned this a while back, but I have been planning for a while on creating some video tutorials for people interested in learning the C# language and using Visual C#.

While I am not a master yet at the language, I know my way enough to pass some knowledge to others and I am learning more everday.

Today I am releasing BETA Session 1 of my series for download.

Take a look at it, and please post any comments or feedback. Thank you and enjoy.
Visual Tutorial C# - Session 1 (25 MB)

This session covers some structure discussion as well as brief information about variables, statements, methods, classes and namespaces.

Well, I found it very useful, and it's very convenient that you've released this now because I'm looking to get a headstart on C# because I'll be studying it come September. That aside...

I felt your explanations of certain things in the example, such as the class, were lacking. A lot of things are due to be explained in future installments - but why wait? It's there now, it's being used. I'm no expert on Object Oriented programming, the concepts I just can't visualise, so while I recognise the structure... By the end of the tutorial, I was still wondering why I had to write the statements where I did, and also why placing them where I did made them execute first. Is there anything special about the program class, or the... static void thing, that means that they will be the initialiser thingummy? I dunno, perhaps I'm just not clued up enough about programming concepts to get the tutorial, after all you said it's for those with a grounding in programming, but still they're major personal stumbling blocks and those questions aren't just rhetoric.

Re-did the first episode, ill upload it in a while, working on the next one.

Taking a little longer than I thought, 2 jobs and websites on the side, kinda tight on time.
