Title: Your name!
Linzi - March 3, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
I want to know the story behind your name!
Mine is obviously because my name is Lindsey. My Dad is a real mans man. He loves sports, bbqs, and video games. When he was growing up there was a street called "Linden" and it crossed with another street called "Wood" (his last name) I didn't realize that this is where my name came from until my little brother was born. He named him Linden because it was the name that he wanted his first born son to be.... So I guess when I was born a female he just couldn't let it go so... hence Lindsey. T____T I always joked that I was my father's first born son but seriously....what a burn to me!
What's your story!?
tlb - March 3, 2008 11:02 PM (GMT)
My name's Adam. My parents were like, "Let's name this guy Adam."
The Morphine Child - March 4, 2008 12:24 AM (GMT)
I'm named after Stephen King. My mom was reading a ton of his books at the time. Liked the name "Stephen" and thus it was attached to my wrinkly, meowling arse.
As for "The Morphine Child" it's the title for a song by Savatage... I liked it. Plus I love morphine! :D
One-t - March 4, 2008 12:29 AM (GMT)
I'm named Bret after my dad. Arturo nicknamed me One-t and it stuck

FrozenDarkness - March 4, 2008 05:13 AM (GMT)
Michael. For no particular reason.
My name FrozenDarkness came from fifth grade. I wrote a story about a man whose heart was so cold that even the darkness would freeze around him. Come on, I was eleven.
zachiroth - March 4, 2008 05:20 AM (GMT)
my friend used to draw a comic about me and my name was zachiroth in the comic.

Michael Jason
My mom had two other cousins named Michael Jason that both tragically died before their 18th birthdays. I guess in my case the third time's the charm.

Garrett
not sure where it came from but I like it.
mickygor - March 5, 2008 05:32 PM (GMT)
Michael, after Michael Fish, the weatherman. :(

Mickygor, is a hybrid of Michael and Elfangor, everyone's favourite Andalite. I've had the nick since I was like... 10. I'm ditching it now though, scared some nasty vigilante group can link my other alias to it >_>
MrFrost - March 5, 2008 05:42 PM (GMT)
Anthony, after my old man and his father and his father before him. An I was threatened to name my son if I have one the very same.
MrFrost is a character I use to role play way back when I played D&D with my boys. Some how the namer just stuck with me and I have been using it since 98.
JIHAUS - March 7, 2008 11:12 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure why I'm named Benjamin. Probably because the Philippines is a crazy roman catholic country.
As for JIHAUS, it is my spelling of one of the sounds a Protoss Zealot says when you click on it. In other words I was a crazed Starcraft fan, back when I was JIHAUS THE MALEVOLENT ZEALOT NO ORDINARY ZEALOT.
mooty - March 7, 2008 11:54 AM (GMT)

This is because one day on MSN I was bored so I picked mooty (derived from muti, traditional medicine of the Mad bush people in South Africa). And it stuck for a while. I'm bored of it. I only use it at RM communities.
squirrel - March 11, 2008 10:56 PM (GMT)
Jon, was going to be born Alexander but my mom didn't want it shortened to Alex, so my dad named me after his father (i guess?).
yen - March 11, 2008 11:43 PM (GMT)
Liam.
My family are Irish so they wanted an Irish name, and I've had a lot of relatives called William & Liam. I believe at one point I was going to be called Lennan (after my Great Grandad - I think).
Dajhail - March 12, 2008 12:19 AM (GMT)
I'm called Jonathon.
I don't know the story behind the name, but I wouldn't be shocked to find out it had something to do with the book 'Jonathan Livingston Seagull.' It's spelled 'Jonathon' because of a spelling mistake on my birth certificate.
'Dajhail' is some bullshit I just made up when I was trying to think up a name.
BrianOnTheRocks - March 12, 2008 12:38 AM (GMT)
BrianOnTheRocks - I like my drinks in such a fashion.
Brian is my 'Canadian' name but my crazy 'Croatian' name is Branislav.
Goood times.

I think the Hauge is looking for you.
I am KK4, I made the name up. It means nothing.
Possessed - March 12, 2008 01:39 AM (GMT)
My name is based off of a couple of things. At the time, I was heavy into Guilty Gear X2, and my favorite character was Zappa, the guy who was possessed by ghosts.
Aside from that, it was also based off of my friends jokingly referring to the way I tune out the outside world while gaming as "Being possessed by the (Insert console here)".
nano - March 12, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
My true name is Anthony. No other reason except my
parents liked it.
Nano is short for Nanoglitch which is the online handle
I've used for over eight years.
Yannick - March 12, 2008 05:40 PM (GMT)
ehm, pretty much my real name :cyclops: . I like it to be honest, though I'm named after a french guy...(
Yannick Noah).
Wolf - March 13, 2008 11:09 PM (GMT)
I've got 2.
Quang, being my birth name, meaning 'clear' in Vietnamese. I don't know the story behind the name, but its grown onto me.
Eric, the name I've obtained through citizenship, is the one I'm currently going by. There's no real interesting story behind that either. I just picked it cause it's a nice (though, generic) name.
Wolf is just a simple name based on a favorite animal. Heh.
