Title: nex: addictive as hell
Description: make me graphix lol

spik - March 16, 2008 11:23 PM (GMT)
And I quote...

nex is a brand new, and original, puzzle game from Coffeehat Studios.

The game is played on a field - much like Tetris or Bejeweled - and the player must follow the game rules to complete the paticular game mode.

But, the game itself isn't important. What I'm looking for are artists to create "themes" for the game. Though, I could easily do this on my own, I feel like its a great way to bring more of a community front to the game.

Each theme is comprised of 7 main parts. A cursor, 2 pieces, 2 acivated pieces, a "dead" piece, and a background. All of these parts (background excluded) must fit in a 32x32 space.

Here is an example of a theme:

Now. Making a theme isn't without its reward. Each theme will have it's own Infopane in game, allowing players (after unlocking a theme) to view its info. On the Infopane I can place whatever you want. URL's, emails, or other personal details.

More theme examples:

And themes in use:

The game will be 100% freeware, with no profits going to myself or any of the other developers.

If you're interested, you can contact me via:

msn: sp1k@hotmail.cm
aim: xspikx

Or, post your theme in this topic.

And I finish quoting.

Basically thought some of the pixel gurus around here might've been interested. Or, if one of the Convergence boys wanted to make a theme to throw in here too.

The Network menu, aside from allowing players to check the online scoreboards, will allow players to download new themes to play with.

Also, Daj and Atlas. What do you want your themes to be called?

Dajhail - March 29, 2008 05:53 AM (GMT)
That looks cool. Downloadable themes is a great idea.

I think my theme should probably be called the 'Clockwiser' theme.

awesome delita. great to see some people taking advantage of advertising. ;)

also, the theme (though it looks great) is a bit confusing on the eye. would it be okay if i changed one of the colors to blue or something else so its a bit easier to see the patterns?

delita - March 30, 2008 08:05 AM (GMT)
Don't, I'll change the upside down one to a diff character.

delita - March 30, 2008 08:21 AM (GMT)
