Title: Battlestar Galactica - Season 4
Description: (spoilers up to the current episode)
Dajhail - March 22, 2008 11:36 PM (GMT)

BSG returns to TV on April 4th, less than two weeks away, and so far season 4 really ain't looking bad:
Season Four - New TrailerDiscuss :)
Season four death count final score:
- Cally - Airlocked by Tori.
- Mathias - Blown up with a damaged Heavy Raider.
- Barolay - Murdered by a traumatised six.
- Natalie Six - Murdered by Athena.
- Pike - Shot in his Raptor while trying to chicken out.
- Cavil #1 - Neck snapped by an angry D'anna Biers.
- Dualla - Suicide.
- Laird - Vice President Zarek, on the flight deck, with the wrench.
- Zarek - Executed for treason.
- Gaeta - Executed for treason.
- Liam - Miscarriage after Caprica Six was attacked by racists.
- Skulls - Space rock in the face
- Racetrack - Space rock in the face
- Boomer - Executed by Athena for really pissing her off
- Tory - Killed by Tyrol in revenge for the death of Cally
- Some/all of the Cylon #1s, #4s and #5s - Blown up in Racetrack's final freak accident
- Anders - Death by extreme sunburn
- Galactica and the rag tag fleet - Rode off into the sun
- Roslin - Died from a wasting disease while flying over the promised land
- Starbuck - Died in an explosion in season three
Season four resurrection count:
- Ellen Tigh - Found herself alive again on a Cylon ship with all of her memories back.
Miniseries survivors:
Technically none of them survived the final time jump at the end, but until then:- Adama - Moved away on his own to build a cabin.
- Tigh - Cylon, lived happily ever after with his Cylon wife.
- Apollo - Planned to go and explore the world..
- Tyrol - Cylon, went off to live alone away from people.
- Baltar - Won Six's respect and they lived together as farmers.
- Helo - Happily married with Cylon kid.
- Kelly - Was locked away for bit, but apparently survived the series
- Boxey - Probably living on Earth now.
- Leoben - Cylon, assimilated into the new human race with the other surviving Cylons.
- Caprica Six - Cylon, probably lived happily ever after with Baltar the farmer.

so its back tonight whos pumped for some zany cylon blastin action
Dajhail - April 4, 2008 04:19 PM (GMT)
I'm kinda indifferent really...
Dajhail - April 5, 2008 06:22 PM (GMT)
That was a damn good episode. Not really any moments of HOLY SHIT AWESOME, but it was definitely worth the wait. I've never been happier to see a 'to be continued' at the end of an episode before either, the episode definitely seems like more setup for a large ongoing storyline, and that's exactly what I want out of my BSG.
Dajhail - April 7, 2008 03:40 PM (GMT)
Triple post because I can!
Also, anyone else distracted by Starbuck switching vipers in midflight?

I mean, yeah she seems to do it in the story, but she also makes a quick change between Crossroads II and He That Believeth in Me. Wouldn't have been so bad except they went straight from the 'previously on' into the action.

BSG episode 4x02 - 'Six of One' airs today :D
Dajhail - April 13, 2008 03:39 AM (GMT)

That was a another damn good episode, in my opinion. It more or less ran on expected lines, especially after seeing the preview, but that's fine because it was still exactly what I wanted so see, with a couple of moments I never saw coming (
like Roslin actually trying to kill Starbuck and the two Baltars).
One thing I still don't get though. Why the hell would you need a sewage treatment ship in space? And if they actually do need it, why are they able to send it off on a mission?
yen - April 15, 2008 05:30 PM (GMT)
The Cylon stuff didn't really make sense to me.
They were saying how no Cylon has ever gone against it's number before - but isn't that exactly what Boomer did when she joined the BSG crew and Xena when she was boxed?
Daniel - April 15, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Good job they removed that
AND THEY HAVE A PLAN. from the titles.
Did they ever have one? <_<
Good episode. Adama really layed it into Laura when he had the chance. Was great! :D
I get more and more unhappy when I realise this is the last season though.

I think they meant that no Cylon has ever voted against their model. Athena didn't vote, she just left, and I don't remember the D'anna models ever disagreeing with each other at all.

I've always hated Cally.
Good job.

Dajhail - April 19, 2008 09:01 PM (GMT)
Agh, fucking TV series. In the previews they make it look like Tory is going to murder Cally in an airlock. Then in the actual episode they turn it around and Tory's actually there to save her :)
But it's a trick and she actually does kill her :(
Fucking TV series :(
Dajhail - April 26, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
I've just watched Battlestar Galactica 4x04 - Escape Velocity.
Despite the title it wasn't as fast moving as I'd hoped. On the plus side... Racetrack survived! :)
Also the scene with Baltar trying to get into his room near the end seemed to be a metaphor for his arc in the series.
He starts off standing up, the consequences of his actions knock him down.
But a mysterious miraculous force helps him pull himself up.
And he gets knocked back down harder.
And the mysterious miraculous force drags him back up again to get knocked down once more.
And it's all part of the plan.
Dajhail - May 3, 2008 03:53 PM (GMT)
The Road Less Travelled... better than the last two episodes in my opinion, but still not great. I don't think we need any more episodes about Tyrol's grief though.
Good:
Baltar showed up.
Starbuck is actually doing things and communicating with people.
Helo's beat down.
Anders' foot to Leoben's face.
Someone going for Baltar's neck. Again.
Bad:
MATHIAS! :(
Dragged on far longer than it had to.
It'd be nice if Athena would give us some Cylon info for once, or at least chat with one of the captured Cylons. She's known them longer than anyone.
The cliffhanger ending was revealed in last week's preview, and is resolved in this week's preview. In fact the entire plot of this episode was revealed in the preview.
yen - May 4, 2008 01:35 PM (GMT)
I found the last episode a bit meh really.
Dajhail - May 10, 2008 02:43 PM (GMT)
Faith... a definite return to form to me. I didn't think I'd ever be so happy to get an episode without Tyrol.
Good:
Stuff happening.
No Tyrol!
They explained why they couldn't just use a Raptor in the last episode.
Aftermath of the Civil War.
Cylon alliance.
Athena talks to cylons about things!
We get to see a jump from the inside.
The 'comet', Six's execution, the centurion freaking out... in fact all the A plot scenes were great.
Adama shows up again.
The colonials have a proper mission to do, to unbox the threes.
The final five are from Earth!
Bad:
The Roslin scenes were not exactly pleasant to sit through.

You thought it was more boring than the last few episodes?

Episode 4x07 - Guess What's Coming to Dinner
Awesome episode, with only a little bit too much of Gaeta's singing and out of character Six murder.
Good:
Jump!
Baltar's back.
The visual effects this episode were amazing, especially the scene where the base ship jumps in.
The irony of a Cylon taking a half Cylon from a Cylon escorted by a Cylon, for a Cylon.
Bad:
Athena, what the fuck? Why do mothers keep freaking out and trying to murder people on this series?
No discussion about the mutiny. I didn't want or expect half of them to get thrown in a brig over it, but it'd be nice to get a line explaining why they didn't.
Dajhail - May 28, 2008 10:05 AM (GMT)
Episode 4x08 - Sine Qua Non
Good episode, not 'omfg amazing!', but definitely good.
The Good
Great visuals, lots of looking out of windows at cool vfx.
Romo's back.
Adama vs. Tigh!
Admiral Tigh.
Husker back in the cockpit.
President Adama.
Starbuck back doing her job.
The Bad
Uh, some of the editing seemed a little off.
"She was trying to steal my baby!"
The Interesting
Seems that we know the reason why Tigh was wearing Admiral pins a couple of eps back.
If Tigh and Six can have a kid, then Cylons CAN reproduce with each other.
So, the Colonials used to have a language called Latin too huh.
Dajhail - June 8, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
Episode 4x09 - The Hub
Great episode, though maybe suffers from being a little too predictable.
The Good
Baltar and Roslin completely owning the episode.
Helo still showing everyone what a good person looks like.
8 running the show.
3 coming back in style.
Cavil's back.
The amazing attack vfx.
The awesome music.
Baltar trying to convert a Centurion.
Roslin letting Baltar die.
"You know about the final five, but you don't know you're one of them?"
Adama making putting a seat belt on look badass.
"I love you" "About time"
The Bad
The preview for next week. Bastards gotta spoil everything!
The Centurion died :<
More visions? Better be a damn good explanation for this somewhere down the line.
The Interesting
Both the Cylon leaders are now dead. Now an 8 seems to be leading the rebels, maybe Boomer could be leading the main group too?

Woo, motherfracking Battlestar Galactica's back on TV.
Episode 4x12 - Sometimes a Great Notion
Nice ep. Full of 'holy shit' moments in a good way, and totally gripping.
* The 13th colony was a Cylon colony from the start. And then they made mechanical Cylons which killed them all. BUT THEY HAVE A PLAN. Cylons love making plans it seems. But if all the people on Earth were Cylons...
* Starbuck died in the maelstrom, and the wreck of her ship somehow made it to Earth. If she's the mysterious 6th final five Cylon and there was a 13th tribe resurrection facility handy, that could explain how she came back. Though it doesn't explain her identical ship and uniform. Either that or they planted a fake corpse on Earth as a joke to see her reaction. Nice to see Leoban freaked out either way, the smug git.
* Dee just went and shot herself in the head and died. Suddenly showing the walk and talk version of the speech instead of the real thing makes a little more sense. To be honest I was more worried about creepy Gaeta doing something unexpected and didn't see the suicide coming at all.
* Ellen is the final Cylon, and all the final five Cylons are 2000 years old. And they all died in the nuclear annihilation of their planet. Except a few probably escaped in a rag tag fugitive fleet heading for a new home... chased by Cylons. I see why D'anna would rather skip riding the cycles of history, every road leads to nukes and Cylon chases.
* Roslin is too caught up in grief to realise that it was ADAMA who started them looking for Earth, not her, and the scrolls of whatever said that their leader would die before setting foot on their new happy shiny planet. So if the scrolls are accurate, as long as she's alive they ain't going to set foot on their new home. They made the mistake of setting up Earth as the answer to all their problems to keep the fleet happy, and then buying into their own hype.
* I love how the Tigh = Cylon problem is resolved... it just isn't one at this point. Adama can't turn against his friend, he doesn't really mean anything he says in his rant, and like with all their arguments it just ends with them getting their shit together. Awww.
* New plan, find a new planet to call home, while escaping the evil Cylon fleet lead by Dean Stockwell. And the nice Cylons are invited to come. Back to square one, yay!
FUN FACT:
All these characters have either attempted or strongly considered suicide so far: Adama, Apollo, Starbuck (via maelstrom), Boomer, Cally, Gaeta, Gina, Athena + Cavil (though they knew they'd be resurrected), Dualla, Tyrol, Tigh (via heroic airlock sacrifice), Baltar, Roslin (by not taking her treatments), Ellen (she knew what she was drinking) and Duck (suicide bomber). Damn, that's got to be a TV record.
yen - January 18, 2009 04:27 AM (GMT)
the Bill/Tigh scene was just amazing.
Love that this is back.

Are we even sure about that it seems totally plausible they lived side by side. I mean their bodies were found next to each other (then again there was none visible in flashbacks).

That might have been the best scene for me. The whole parts with Leoben and her on Earth looked awesome. Something seemed so crisp about the picture and the grass. The music at certain parts of these scenes was awesome.... infact the stuff in all the episode was really good.

I thought he acting before that was terribly bad. It really looked so so fake. I know that maybe was the point but all those scenes talking with Lee were making me cringe. Id like an animated gif of Gaeta running around the corner with his leg flying everywhere though...

| * Ellen is the final Cylon, and all the final five Cylons are 2000 years old. |
I cant believe this didnt get found out or discussed much. Baltar pretty much said his cylon detector said she was a cylon (regardless of how unreliable it was). He pretty much told 6 that he lied about it to Adama and Roslin.
Gotta get more Stockwell.
Also, pretty funny to see Baltar just hanging out with Bill and Laura early in that episode while in his labcoat. Guess they are all best buds on Earth.
Dajhail - January 18, 2009 08:28 PM (GMT)
If Baltar did really know, he kept very quiet about it. You'd think during his search for the final five with D'anna he might have mentioned 'well I know Ellen Tigh was one of them, so that just leaves four.' or something.
I miss labcoat Baltar, I think I prefered him to cult leader Baltar, prisoner Baltar and president Baltar. Maybe it's just because the guy seemed smarter back then, when he had opportunities to show off his knowledge. Plus he was more of a smug bastard.

I guess they will probably focus alot on Head Six for the final few episodes. There isnt really to much left to Baltar as a character. He admitted his crimes, he showed guilt for them, he has been through a shit load... the only stuff left to really sort out is the Head Six stuff and his final fate.
Somebody raised a pretty funny point on SA too... Romos Dead Cat has had more airtime than Cylon.
I hope the music keeps up this season. The music has always been great but the stuff in the last episode was really quite different and I liked it. I love the whole dark ending we are probably aiming for.
Dajhail - January 25, 2009 01:56 PM (GMT)
Episode 4x13 - A Disquiet Follows My Soul
Somehow this episode seemed more ominous than the last one. It was definitely quality TV though, although every time I saw Adama brush his teeth it pulled me out the story and reminded me it was a Ronald D. Moore episode. The guy has an obsession with showing Adama shave and brush his teeth.
* Gaeta's really turning 'smug bastard' up to 11 in this episode. 'So I guess a pity frak's out of the question then? :smug:' Not sure how this fits around the webisodes though, Gaeta is already meeting with Zarek and leading the anti-Cylon mutiny and they haven't even got an alliance set up yet.
* There seems to be some confusion about whether the Final Five are actually the same kind of Cylon as the others, and what their role was in the attacks, and now they're actually on speaking terms with the Cylons who attacked them it'd be nice if they could help clear this up a little. Tyrol and Tory seem to believe that they are part of the Cylon group now by default, despite apparently being born/built 2000 years before they were even created. 'Biologically we're slightly more similar to them than to you so we're moving in with them'.
* It is obvious to me now that we need a BSG spin-off called 'Galactica Medical', starring Doc Cottle.
* Hotdog is Nicky's real father, and there's still only one hybrid. Poor Tyrol thought he'd reached rock bottom ages ago and there was nothing left in the world that could faze him. 'Earth's a radioactive wasteland, hah that figures', 'this is the spot where I got nuked 2000 years ago, lol!', 'I'm not my child's father... oh fuck :('. Nice of Baltar to step in there and help them work their problems out without violence...
* Roslin has given up being the President and has decided instead to get high off drugs. She still seems to have forgotten the part about the dying leader being dead before arriving at their promised land, but I can forgive Adama for not reminding her. But without her hand at the wheel, the government is doing what all TV governments do; being unanimously 'wrong' and marching happily down the path of stupidity, shaking hands and congratulating each other along the way.
* Or maybe they're right, and allying with the Cylons is going to screw them over. But I find it hard to believe that BSG is going to end with a 'forgiving your former enemies and trying to make peace is going to fuck you over, death to the infidels!' message.
* I loved the irony of Adama ordering an eight to capture or kill the Vice President. Though I guess he better than anyone understands where their strengths lie. 'You want me to go shoot someone in charge again? YES SIR!'
Daniel - January 26, 2009 04:45 PM (GMT)
Pretty much summed it up there.
Gaeta can go die though. Christ - his character is so unlikable now.
I cant see this revolution working though. Good ol' Dean Stockwell is still lurking around the universe and also Baltars cult probably has a big enough following that he will propose an alliance with the Cylons too.
Dajhail - January 31, 2009 03:57 PM (GMT)
Episode 4x13 - The Oath
Holy FUCK!
* Zarek murdered poor Chief Laird, Starbuck's executing mutineers around every corner, Gaeta's trying to shoot down Baltar and the President. Racetrack, Seelix and Skulls are traitors, perhaps Narcho too. Athena's back in the rape cage. Damn!
* Zarek murdered poor Chief Laird! One of the few utterly decent, hard working, innocent people who's only crime was doing his job to the best of ability to save the human race, even after some of them murdered his family and dragged him into working aboard a Battlestar. I don't think I like Zarek any more.
* Baltar and his cult reluctantly jump to the rescue by trying to talk down Gaeta, letting Roslin use his radio, and helping to get her rescued. Somehow I imagined Baltar landing on the other side of this issue, I forgot that Gaeta hates him even more than Roslin and Adama do.
* Nice to see Starbuck is back on form. Running around corridors and shooting people is one of the few things that still brings a smile to her face. And mine.
* Gaeta is 'hungry for redemption' huh? I'm sure I've heard that in a prophecy somewhere...
* Lee Adama blames Tigh and the other final five for the destruction of the colonies! He was the last of them I thought would jump to the conclusion that he must have been involved. Though then again, he and Tigh ended up in very different places during the last 'mutiny' and they've never exactly been friends.
* Speaking of the last 'mutiny', I remember that they had Cylon problems before it was resolved, and I can imagine the same thing happening here. Perhaps a Cylon Base ship or two jumping in, and the rebel Cylons hanging around to be the sole defenders of the fleet until Adama is able to get his foot on Gaeta's face and tell them all where to jump.
Dajhail - February 7, 2009 02:32 PM (GMT)
Episode 4x14 - Blood on the Scales
That was a pretty good episode, though not quite on last week's level for me. Everything seemed to happen a little too easily; after a pointless detour to the flight deck, the heroes just break the prisoners out, Roslin escapes being shot down by just dodging a missile, Adama escapes execution (after a crap fakeout) because they rescue him off screen (without a bloodbath!), and they just walk in and take back the ship without a shot fired.
* Looks like they're going to have to get a new Quorum. I did NOT see that coming.
* It's official, Roslin scares the shit out of the Cylons. "Sorry Roslin, we like you humans now and everything, but we've decided that it'd be better if we run away and stay out of this." "NO, I COMMAND YOU TO STAY AND RISK YOUR LIVES" "...okay". Leoben in particular probably remembers that time where she threw him out of an airlock and left him to asphyxiate to death in deep space.
* Baltar decides he's going to refuse sex and go back! And then bravely stands around in the baseship control center being useless instead. But damn, the guy seems to definitely be growing a conscience. Perhaps his cult isn't going to lead to epic disaster? Then again when Gaeta decided he had to heroically step in and save his people, it didn't work out so great.
* Woo, we get the see the engine room! And watch the FTL drives spinning up.
* The shot with Tyrol looking at the cracked wall is very vague. At first I thought 'aww, after all that he's going to die of radiation poisoning or something?', but now I'm starting to think that perhaps he's not, perhaps it's Galactica that's dying.
* If only Gaeta had known earlier that the cure for itchy stump was to sit in front of a firing squad, he could have saved himself so much frustration. Perhaps this could all have been avoided.
* Poor Sam Anders, he got shot in the... neck maybe? I predict that they get him down to Doc Cottle in time, but he has to amputate. For dramatic irony. Nice to see that Starbuck actually does care, also Romo has learned a new trick from Gaeta. The marine was dead the moment he took Romo's glasses.
adrian - February 14, 2009 04:43 PM (GMT)
nice exposition mr. moore
Dajhail - February 14, 2009 08:49 PM (GMT)
Fucking awesome exposition more like :o
That was a great episode, full of revelations and Cavil. I wouldn't want every episode to be an info dump like this, but it's nice to finally know some of what the fuck is going on.
* Galactica is on it's last legs. A transplant from the Cylon ship can keep it going a little longer, but it's fucked. Nice to see Adama heroically being as pragmatic and sensible as he can be, even welcoming Tyrol back as chief, but hypocritically being as opposed to having Cylon tech on HIS ship as everyone else was about it being on theirs. Nice to know that the Gaeta/Zarek regime would have lasted at best a handful of jumps, before exploding into a million glittering pieces.
* The end of the Cylon war, and the creation of the 8 Cylon models is explained! And Cavil is revealed to be even more of a shit than before, deliberately manipulating events to make sure that the five 'miraculously' survive long enough to live shitty lives. And lie to Tyrol about him not being a Cylon. Plus the 'can the five resurrect? If so, how come the Cylons haven't become suspicious about the spare Cylon bodies lying around that aren't them' question has been answered. They could, and Cavil kept their bodies secret, because he's an asshole with issues.
* Ellen and Tigh's reunion is going to be... awkward. Also Adama, Tyrol and Boomer's. How the hell does she expect to find the fleet anyway?
*** FIVE EPISODES REMAINING ***
Dajhail - February 21, 2009 09:03 AM (GMT)
Episode 4x16 - Deadlock
* Okay, what the fuck was up with Boomer's arrival at the fleet? No one wonders how she found them? No one worries that she might be bringing Cavil right behind her, or that he could find them the same way? A ship they KNOW is carrying at least one enemy combatant turns up, so they line up the senior staff and leaders of humanity in a neat row outside the door and wait to see if they come out shooting? Can we count this as another suicide attempt?
* Yay human and Cylon joint patrol though. I love seeing the two sides work together like that. They really do make a good team when they're not scheming to fuck each other over.
* I'm a little confused by Tyrol and Adama this episode. Tigh fucking his dead wife and neglecting to mention he's got another woman pregnant I can get, Ellen being a bitch and selling out humanity is no big shock, but Tyrol wanting to just leave the fleet right there and then? I thought he'd at least make a case for hanging around until Galactica is fixed up with Cylon goo. And Adama just hands over guns to Baltar and his cult. "Here you go, hope you don't cause too much of a bloody massacre as you fight the Sons of Aries over food in the corridors of my ship."
* Caprica Six's chance encounter with a human leads to her child dying. Karma from what she did to the baby in the miniseries perhaps? What this means for Saul, Ellen and Caprica in the future I have no idea, but I'm not predicting hugs and happy thoughts. Though they would be nice, once in a while...
* Caprica Six's baby dies and Anders' brain kicks back up again. I really hope these aren't linked.
* Don't the Cylons have their own hallway to put up pictures of dead people in? Either way, the message is clear. Whatever plans their respective leaders may make, the humans and rebel Cylons are moving closer together. The ten thousand shots of Adama watching them rub goo on Galactica's frame may have also been meant to reinforce the theme of integration, I dunno.
Overall though... not a bad ep I thought.

Episode 4x17 - Someone to Watch Over Me
Overall, I liked this episode. It had mystery, tension, action and came really close to actually maybe revealing something about Starbuck and her special destiny. I suppose it's strongly hinted at that her dad is Daniel and she's a hybrid. but that really doesn't explain anything except maybe a connection to the mysterious third party manipulating everyone that makes Hera draw creepy things and which really loves All Along the Watchtower.
Damn, wait... an all powerful force, manipulating all the characters to fit a scheme, with a love of Dylan and giving people cryptic visions. I think maybe... it's Ronald D. Moore :o
* I win a cookie, I figured out that Hera's dotes were notes the second I saw them. Didn't quite make the leap to it being All Along the Watchtower though. Then again perhaps Kara was on to something when she called them stars... A star map encoded into a song the final five, Hera, and Starbuck's dad all instinctively know?
* I want the first scene of the next episode to be Helo staring directly at the camera, silent rage flickering behind his eyes. Adama and Roslin make a futile attempt to talk sense into him, before burning away in the heat of his glare. They eventually step aside to allow him to stride into CIC to command the fleet to jump right into the heart of the Cylon fleet to get his kid back. Then space battles for three episodes.
* Tyrol picked a bad time to start caring about people/Cylons/life again. Ooops, nice work Chief. Now they've got two injured 8s, a missing messiah child, a hole in the ship, and Helo's going be getting nasty 'you didn't realise it wasn't me???' glares from Athena for like forever.
* When tylium ships jump out they make nearby raptors drift away a little. When raptors jump out they punch holes into nearby battlestars. Perhaps it's like punching a feather vs punching a plasterboard wall, the feather is going to come out of it in much better shape. Also holy shit that sounded bad from inside the ship, that's got to be the most convincing 'that's it, the ship is fucked' effect they've done in the series. I'm very concerned.
* Well at least we know now that Boomer was able to find the fleet because Cavil knows where they are, which seems an important piece of info for Adama to know, especially as now they have Hera, they may have no reason left to spare them (except the final five know how to rebuild the resurrection hub... trade Hera for the five?). On the other hand, the ship's fucked and he hasn't got jumps to waste. Another optimistic Battlestar ending :D

| Also holy shit that sounded bad from inside the ship, that's got to be the most convincing 'that's it, the ship is fucked' effect they've done in the series. I'm very concerned. |
galactica.. the dying leader...

I'm wondering about this now, seriously, so I'm going to look up those damn prophecies.
"the lords anointed a leader to guide the Caravan of the Heavens to their new homeland."
Roslin leads the people, and Galactica leads the ships. Neither of them have lead anyone to a new homeworld... yet. Starbuck lead everyone to a dead world that they couldn't live on.
"the new leader suffered a wasting disease and would not live to enter the new land."
Spaceships don't usually enter promised lands, but I think this is vague enough to apply to Roslin and Galactica. Starbuck was definitely a 'dying leader', but being blown up doesn't count as a wasting disease.
"And unto the leader they gave a vision of serpents numbering two and ten, as a sign of things to come"
Galactica and Roslin both saw twelve Vipers take out a Cylon tylium refinery. A definite example of space fighters being referred to instead of a more literal meaning though. Starbuck was the one that planned the mission and sent the Vipers.
Somehow I don't see either Galactica or Roslin surviving the series and I am hoping they get their damn homeworld by the end of it, so unless we get to hear part of the prophecy saying "oh, and the leader is a literal leader, not a spaceship" then I dunno.
At least we know it isn't Starbuck.
