Final Fantasy VII is a great game if you ignore Sephiroth.
Sadly all the spin offs are made for people who love him. Also, these people like anime.
I hear this game is good but then again most of the people who like FF alot now are anime loving Sephiroth fags.

I never played anything other then the original FF VII...never saw a movie or anything...i am quite content...
the main reason for this though is because well...the movie looked like shit to me and i've never owned a system other then nintendo after the original playstation....

No, it's quite the opposite..It's a bad game and the only thing good about it is Sephiroth's 12-foot long katana and the song 'One Winged Angel'..Anyone who likes it other than those facts should be shot in the head for liking such a terrible game..If they want to play an awesome game..Play the original.(as in Final Fantasy I)

as gay as ff7 is its better than ff1 and the battle system has aged ok

I've bought it. It's quite fun. Even though I feel like the franchise has been milked to the bone, this game really isn't that bad.
Battle system is active and a lot of fun, though easy, imho. DMV is certainly a surprise, but keeps the battles real interesting and varied.
Story? Well, not sure bout that. Then again, I've been doing side quests rather than the actual missions. Reason is, though some of these missions are horribly repeatative (Same area, different placement of restricted areas), it offers some great rewards, which makes it all worth the effort, I guess.
Graphics, well, it's a Square game. It's sorta expected that they'd push the system to its limit to produce some pretty impressive graphics; both in-game and FMV.
I'm not a big FF7 fan, but I can honestly say I did enjoy this title. It's not bad, so I'd recommend giving it a try at least.
