even though i have no interest in rpg maker and am not very active in the game creation field atm im still here on rpg2knet... but why??

I joined 2knet over other sites because it seemed to have relatively smart and funny users, and pretty gold text. Also I was making a game and wanted somewhere to show it off...

And I'm still here, because I like chatting to you people. Mostly.

i came here a while back because i had found rpgmaker and wanted to learn, unfortunately nothing ever resulted in it except me sticking around and making some friends while pissing some people off...

Erm... I thought the layout was good. I'd seen people at school on it.

Then I found RPG Maker some months later.


I'm here because it doesn't take much to be here. I don't leave sites without good reason, which is why I've only ever actively left one before.

I've always wanted to make my own games, so when I found RPGMaker 2000, I decided to find some tutorials and stuff. I signed up at RPG2knet to pimp out a bunch of games I never finished and to get some advice. I wound up staying because of how many cool people there are.

When I was using RM2k, RPG2knet was the only one who gave me reasonable feedback. GGZ didn't really help much, though they had very good tutorials and stuff. I felt that at RPG2kNet, you could actually make friends and get criticism for your work. Oh, that and BelSammael's chin. Seriously that thing has a gravitational pull of some kind...

I was a random aimless kid who had just picked up rm2k (or was it rm95) and I was looking for resources. I liked the overall look of the site and the resources in it so I ended up lurking and I eventually joined. Was June 2001 I believe.

Yeah I joined around the same time, in July I think. It seems like a lot of us joined up then.

Weird to think that a site I made in my spare time brought you guys together =p

I think I stayed here because I fit in - RPG2KNET was the "cool" people and every one else just seemed lame. The discussion back in the day was awesome, every one was way bad ass and helpful. So I returned time after time and have made many a friend.

That and breekan was a babe.

I think RPG2knet had a nice catchy name. Stop me if I'm wrong.

I remember talking to Jon about what to call the site.

We were in the local baguette shop "Upper Crust" but we called it "Los Baguettos" as all the workers there were Spanish.

We basically decided that putting k instead of three 0's was cool.

Then we got a Ham and Turkey baguette.

That's a pretty cool story man.

I came here randomly, and became and IRC hero, then I started posting on the forums where I was loved by all... I think.
