Title: I got new CDs!
Darabos - April 10, 2008 03:30 PM (GMT)
I finally got around to going to the record store. So here is what I picked up.
Mr. Wonderful - Fleetwood Mac
I hate Fleetwood Mac as it is known now. But before the wives joined the band it was Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac. This album is full of great blues songs from both Peter Green and Jeremy Spencer. A real treat for fans of blues music.
Live at the Ameoba - TV on the Radio
Short set list, great performance and it only cost me $4. Can't really beat that price.
Coheed & Cambria - burning star iv: ....
I don't know why i keep buying these albums. It's full of horrible 80's metal riffs. I hate music from that decade. I like the entire sci-fi fantasy back story the band has around the music but that's the only entertaining thing about it. It's like a sound track for a movie that hasn't been made, and let's be honest no one gives a shit about the sound track with out the movie.
Bedlam in the Golith - The Mars Volta
I think I actually like this album. There aren't any ambient bird cherping breaks. The album fro
the very beginning explodes and doesn't slow down. The track times are even resonable, about 4 or 5 minutes each with the exception only one or two.
In Rainbows - Radiohead
I'm not a huge fan, I own OK Computer but I never really listened to it. This album seems to not stand out to much for me. It seems pretty tame. The packaging was cool though. I guess I'm just not into Radiohead's "sound".
The Black Keys - Attack & Release
I'd never heard of these guys before and apperantly they have had a long successful career. The vocals have a well lived in blues sound. The whole album is deep in stripped down blues. It's great. Only negative thing I have to say is it is so damn depressive, but hey that's the blues.
Lenny kravtiz - Love Revolution
Love this album. It's a classic just rock out album. Lot of Zeppelin and Rollling stones overtones laden with pure funk just like lenny always delievers. Some of the influences are obvious but kravitz makes them sound fresh.

Nice. So a general 'w00t I got albums' topic?
I bought three CDs today, coincidentally.
Growing - The Soul of the Rainbow and the Harmony of Light
(wanktastic droning)
Red Sparows - At the Soundless Dawn
(the superior sparowes album)
ASVA - Futurists Against the Ocean
(drone doom you wouldn't understand, heathens)
Also got the new Nadja preordered.

Yeah I wasn't impressed either. I miss the old Radiohead, back when they'd put some distortion on and play a rock tune.
I've just got the new Offspring album, 'Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace'. It has a crap name. It's also got a lot of crap songs, but the first half is mostly good. 'Stuff is Messed Up' is the only track that's stuck in my head though.

I quite like In Rainbows.
Haven't bought any new albums for a while.
