Title: Duke Nukem Forev...I mean, Espora
xsolarx - April 10, 2008 05:02 PM (GMT)
I guess it had to happen eventually: a fake2knet topic about my game, Espora, which I've been sporadically working on for the past few years. The fact that I tend to revamp its character design, storyline and visuals every few months has really pushed its release date back...several times. But I guess things are going better now.

Evolution:
-----------
Espora 1, circa 2005 or something

TODAY

So yeah, subtle changes.
---------------------------
Story summary (so far)
---------------------------
Another time, another place. A high-ranking armsmaster and a guardian of a renegade magician Hermes, Oswald, follows his master through a dimensional portal as the world around him disappears into oblivion. He finds himself in an otherworldly environment: a large green forest. And his protegé, Hermes, is nowhere to be seen...
Oswald must now do his duty as a sworn protector of Hermes' family and locate their scion and bring him home - if it even exists anymore. It seems that the world around him is at the brink of chaos, too...
-------------
Characters:
-------------
Oswald: A rather simple, but devoted, servant to a noble family.
Hermes: An anxious, nervous magician fascinated with trans-dimensional magicology. Is rather theatrical.
Red Knight: Suffered a blow in the head and now thinks he's an ancient hero reincarnated. Occasionally bipolar. He's rather nice nonetheless.
Madga: A throwing knife wielding member of a warrior sisterhood. Passionate for relics.
-----------
Features:
-----------
Nothing, really. CMS/CBS would be nice I guess, but eh.
It has jokes. Some. And secrets.
That's enough for now.

Most of those graphics are still on use, though. I keep recycling stuff.

I love this game. I miss the old battle with the huge Fernando though. Was so unique. <3

Yeah but I couldn't fit all four battle characters there :D

I would totally make artwork of this for the contest but I couldn't emulate that art style if I wanted to. Heh.

You should do a realistic, ultra detailed, airbrushed looking, piece of artwork for it.

I really like the circa 2005 graphics better, no matter how much I look at it :illness:
But this looks really refreshing :D

I think the wiki article chronicles the different looks of Espora far better than this topic...

Thanks HAUS. Here's it in full size:

I don't know how much of it is going to be explorarable, though. Maybe a small portion.
