Title: Sound capture help

tlb - April 17, 2008 07:44 AM (GMT)
I was looking to make a video of myself playing Rock Band because I am awesome and I love myself more than anyone else. That's not really the problem though.

I want to get a decent quality sound recording straight from the television so I can sync it to the video and I don't have to listen to myself hitting the actual drum heads.

My guess is that I can just use a standard two way AV cable and feed it through a converter that will narrow the two channels into one via a standard headphone type plugin. From there, I can just plug my double ended sound dealy into the line in (or microphone jack) in my computer and use basic sound recording software to get my audio.

I know that this is kinda vague and I probably used many incorrect terms, (as well as threw in a load of grammatical errors), but I just need to know if I can record sound in this way.

I would just test it out for myself, but my computer is currently broken (I'm posting this from my Wii).

Any help would be appreciated, O 2knetters (That is if you have any idea what this entire post was even asking.)

Yeah, if you mean what I think you mean then you can record sound that way just fine.

If you've got a digital output on your soundcard, you might be able to plug it in via an amplifier, surround reciever or whatever is under your TV. Other than that, your idea would probably work aswell. God bless white and red;)
