GTA IV's finally out!

Uh, discuss.

99% of people can't talk about he game because they're too busy playing it

I have to say that I do not like this game. It's not that it's bad, it's extremely bland. I did about the first 10 missions and I just left confused. You have an actual storyline in this version of GTA that just makes me role my eyes everytime a cut scene pops up. They are trying to have character development that makes the character seem like he wants to attone for past sins, but then I can just walk up to any NPC in the game and blow his fucking head off with a shot gun leaving no consquence to the characters state of being. Which makes all those cut scenes completely ridiculious plus a waste of time.

And they did it again! It? They made the city to big. The great thing about Gta3 and even vice city was they scaled everything to the point that you could nearly memorize most of the city after about 4 or 5 hours of game play while still leaving the sense of a large enough environent to "sandbox". San andreas was too big and now 4 is to big. Its almost if they expected the player not to be able to remember much of the city so they put that "gps" system in there. I always felt they should have kept the scale of GTA3 and develop the infrustucture of the city. Like insides of buildings and stuff. All the newer games only make certain buildings accessable and even then its limited and mostly condition based.

And unfortunatly one of the staples of the game is the must fustrating, I'm talking about driving. Its so obnoxious to the point I just got out of the car and ran to my destination. Another thing that I thought was just a distraction was the cell phone feature. I dont really want to invest the time to write about. It was just annoying.

And what was with all the social commentary? Do i really want to take my p's and q's of philosophy and the ugliness of war from a game that allows the "freedom" to conduct mass murder at unrealistic hieght? This is a game that glorifys organized crime which mostly operates as a form of a tyranical dictatorship.

This game was majorly overhyped. I dont think it deserves the praise being through at and I think there needs to be serious discussion my the developers about the future of the franchise.
