Title: Beyond Eden: Chronicles of Nod
Description: Traditional RPG with a spiritual theme

Hey everyone. It's been a long while. I'm glad to know that this place still exists on some level. You might remember my game from like five years ago.
I took some time off, and told myself I was done, but I just keep coming back to this project. It is truly a labor of love.

It's made in rm2k3 using a lot of stuff you've seen before. There are some new systems (CMS, Job system, Modified DBS, and new level up system) but most aren't especially beautiful because I'm not an artist.

Anyway, the game is called Beyond Eden: Chronicles of Nod. Rpg2knet was one of the few places I released my demo all those years ago. Every scene has been rewritten since then (and I hope to god you don't remember playing it) and much new content has been added.

The game is now roughly twenty five hours (maybe 1/3 complete?) with many side quests and hidden things to find. It is really long, but I think the story is good and the dialog is a least mildly entertaining. (Comes with a complete walkthrough)

So here are the facts!

Premise: A spiritually minded RPG. In many respects, a traditional "old school" RPG. My goal with this project is to present actual religious and spiritual points of view expressed through this story telling medium. In order to increase max GP (Basically just MP) your character has to spiritually grow a bit. Learn something or experience something dramatic.

Sounds pompous, right?

It's campy. Makes fun of it's self too. I consider it "A serious game that doesn't take itself too seriously"

Plot: A Goddess decides to destroy the corrupted world she has created. Three people from Earth find their way and their spiritual identity is brought into question.

What I am willing to reveal (what is said in the intro) is that demons, when they are killed, get banished to the Infernal Realm. Humans, can come and go from there as they please, but the world gets shaken up when a half-demon half-human is born. Having the power of a demon and the human ability to escape from the Infernal Realm, a new strategy must be formulated.
This half-demon, Reis, is only the antagonist initially.

Demo will be out mid-September. All bug tested and ready to go, just polishing up the aesthetics and possible spelling errors.

Yes.

YES.

I totally remember this game. Man - I loved it. Some certain bits and pieces still stick in my mind today.

Now, though, it's looking awesome. Just don't expect the same sort of wave of enthusiasm from this community these days - not much game making orientation left on these forums.

Great to see you, too! We'll need to get some catch up chats on soon.

I'm actually going to check it out. I haven't played an RPGmaker game since Dragullian Tales was announced.. and that never came either, so.. yeah.
