That's cool, I wish I'd had as much success getting my own guitar tracks finished. Is it JMickle on drums and bass too, or do you have a band playing there?

JMickle - October 27, 2008 07:08 PM (GMT)
No, thats my computer doing those bits.

Listening to this track again I'm kinda disappointed with it. when it gets into the chords bit, it sounds really muddy and terrible.

But I still like it. I bet if my band DID do it, it'd sound alright.

Oh and with the guitar tracks, I bet I recorded about 10 minutes of guitar, and I think I only used about 20 seconds.

I just cut it up and loop it :D

Damn, I was certain those were recorded drums. It really sounds like a group of people playing together live.

I'll take that as a compliment! I always like producing the hell out of sequenced drums.

EDIT: and the bass line is a synthesizer, not even sequenced bass. :P

you rock! The melodies sound great! I would work on improving sound quality though.. It sounds a little claustrophobic if you know what I mean.

Great work! :D

Far too much reverb on the guitar. The actual recording of the guitar is digitally clipping and there is a few things with the drums, including the wrong reverb being used on the snare.

Trust me, I'm a sound engineer. :D Nice quick attempt though, keep trying. I mean a quite a few years ago I did this and that's when I first started out really. It's only a clip of the whole song and it was unfinished, but you can get the general feel of it.

If you have any questions about recording/production fire away.

Yeah, I'm recording through a seriously small amp into my computer through the microphone slot. I'm not surprised theres problems with the recording.

Also, I put that reverb on like that to get that garagy feel on purpose.

But hey, thanks for the tips!
