Title: PSP
spik - January 5, 2009 06:04 AM (GMT)
Just got one, it's got custom firmware. Now what games do I need?
Gintech - January 5, 2009 07:21 AM (GMT)
I don't know but if there was some way of combining the iPhone with the PSP, the world would be a better place. Oooo, maybe linerider? Wait is that for the PSP? or just the DS & Wii? hmmm..
Dajhail - January 5, 2009 02:04 PM (GMT)
Maybe GTA Liberty City and Vice City stories, Disgaea, Crisis Core perhaps?
I dunno, I borrow my brother's PSP sometimes, but I never find much to play on it.

the new monster hunter for psp is coming out shortly.
apparently if you have a ps3 you can play it online, but thats kinda dumb because the next console MH is wii only

Got the two GTA titles + Crisis Core with it. I've also got FFIX, Gran Turismo 2, and FF:Dissidia.
Considering getting Loco Roco and the new God of War (which for a PSP has insanely good graphics), but I'll look into this Linerider and Disgaea/Monster Hunter also.
Thanks guys.

I don't have a psp but if I did the first game I'd get for it would probably be
Crush, a puzzle platformer which is kind of a proto-super paper mario in a way. I haven't played it so I can't attest to its quality but it sounds like the kind of game you'd be into.

That game looks badass. :o

Best retail titles for the PSP, IMO, are...
GoW: Chains of Olympus
Patapon
Loco Roco
Lumines
Download an SNES emulator for more games :)

Awesome. I've built a good back catalogue - now I just need a Memorystick big enough for a couple at once. xd

Nah but seriously if you want good games for the PSP, Ratchet and Clank Size Matters is a good choice, Mega Man Powered Up and Mega Man Maverick Hunter X is great fore remakes with extra content. Castlevania Chronicles is also good for a remake.
If you want new games then God of War Chains of Olympus is a good choice, Lumines is great.
Pretty much the PSP is home of the remakes which is fine by me because I missed most of them the first time. Since you have a modded PSP you want the SNES, Genesis, and NES emulators on there. Also get a few PS1 games for it, I had Persona on the PSP and it played very well. You will want to keep an eye out for Dissidia, Kingdom Hearts, and the Persona 1 (remake)

I suggest getting yourself Popsloader, and Persona 2: Innocent Sin with the translation patch.
Also, Persona 1 and Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, if you haven't played those.
Currently, I've got Persona 2: Innocent Sin and an SNES emulator with Earthbound. When my 4gb card comes, I'm going to switch to that, so I can have Eartbound, Persona 1, AND both Persona 2 games. Though I'm a little worried that the combined awesomeness of all 4 games on the same card might turn my PSP into a miniature god and cause a quantum collapse.

Oh yeah I forgot that someone actually finished translating Persona 2: Innocent Sin. I NEED to check that out since it's another page of Persona awesomeness ^_^
And yeah you need to put in something to counteract the awesomeness, put an NES emulator with Bad Street Brawler, Dungeons and Dragons Heroes of the Lance, and Deadly Towers. It will make it reconsider it's God status as it cries. It might be torture for the poor PSP but if you don't want your PSP to become sentient and divine all at once, this is the way to do it.

I'm going to help you out by replying to this dead thread(?). I'm almost positive there's a Cave Story port for PSP and everyone who has a PSP owes it to themselves to get that.
Edit:
Homebrew, of course.

Also, Dissidia. Best Final Fantasy fighting game ever.
Also, most unintuitive controls for a fighting game ever. Maybe.
