Looking for an alternative to WoW and its broken ass PvP system? Pick up Warhammer, the PvP is as balanced as I've seen in a game (and promises to be even better with 1.2 approaching), leveling is fun and enjoyable as the fastest way to level is to quest while queuing for scenarios (battlegrounds).

The oRvR (open Realm versus Realm) combat feels epic and if you play the proper class you will feel extremely useful. I have often been involved (even [or especially] in lower level zones) in keep sieges where literally hundreds are fighting over control. It's also worth mentioning that Mythic has successfully redefined the role of healer with the Warrior Priest and its mirror, the Disciple of Khaine. Both of these classes are "front-line" healers in that they can heal for loads and loads, but most effectively when they are up in melee range slicing and smacking shit. My main is a Warrior Priest and it's literally the most fun I've had playing an MMO since Ragnarok.

Surprisingly, in a game that is significantly PvP oriented, the PvE aspects of the game are very well done and have very nice rewards which make it worth your time to complete.

You may hear people complaining about the lack of things to do at max level (similar to the complaints heard on the WoW forums back when Onyxia was considered unkillable) but with the live expansion A Call to Arms being rolled out in the next few months and as the game progresses I'm sure the end game experience will improve dramatically.

If you buy the game, roll on Dark Crag server. I play on it, and it is quickly becoming Mythic's flagship server.

Sounds like fun. My only problem is that I have a job, and I'm working on an album, oh and the law firm I'm partnered with take up time in between. I guess I could cut out sleep... Someone else should be able to play though. :D

I'd suggest checking up on Mortal Online, it's Full loot, First person combat real time, and sandbox. I.e userdriven economy and all that it brings, it's up to you to decide what you'd consider a quest and whom to hire for how much..
If they're not pleased with your offering they might decapitate you.

It's not out yet, but it has a steady marketing plan and i know some of the people working on it and i must say i'm pretty sure it'll be out by summer 09'

ps. Epic encounters and 'bosses' will be devs controlling, and the monsters are unique and won't respawn. Have you ever played Ultima online?

Yeah I've played Ultima Online, I know about MO and about Darkfall and about Aion and about pretty much every other up and coming MMO out there. Currently beta-testing Fallen Earth (http://www.fallenearth.net) and also looking forward to Blade & Soul.

The thing about Warhammer that makes it better than all these other games is that it's already out, and it's actually good. One thing I know for certain having been playing MMOs for a long time is that there's always an MMO that looks amazing coming out soon, and you can easily get caught in a waiting game that just leaves you disappointed (e.g. Age of Conan). I'd rather play what I know is good now, and Warhammer is very good, than just keep waiting for promises from other MMOs that aren't even released.

That being said... Blade & Soul trailer:
