DISCLAIMER!: Yeah. I don't own Weezer. Although... It would kick serious ass if I did. But I don't. Rivers owns Weezer. ;D Har Har. All I really own is... Well. My made-up characters, ofcourse. That's obvious, isn't it? Comment if you want, I love those~

Prologue
“What’s with these homies dissin’ my girl?”

8:00pm. The show started at 7:00pm. … This was not good. The eighteen year old in the car glared at her sister who was on the wheel. This was very typical, but it caused the younger girl great amount of frustration. She crossed her arms, the elder sister noticing this. For a moment, silence ensued, until the elder sister released a very notable sigh.

“It’s not my fault.”

“…. I was ready at six.”

“You didn’t call me.”

She rolled her eyes, “You know… You’re right. Because. It was really foolish of me to think, that when you said you’ll pick me up at six, that I thought you’d ACTUALLY pick me up at six. No. I have to CALL you!”

“Look, we’re here. They’re probably just starting. You know how these things go.”

The younger sister looked at her sister as the car was parked. However, upon leaving the card and toward the venue, music was heard. Very familiar music at that. Slowly, the younger sister’s footsteps decreased in speed. The music was unmistakable. She glanced at her sister. “Ana….”

Ana looked at her younger sister, then ahead. “…. Is that? Do you think?”

What’s with these homies dissin’ my girl? Why do they gotta front…

“….. We’re late. They started.” She looked at Ana, rushing forward. Ana stayed behind for a moment, somewhat quiet, showing a shrug.

“So I was wrong.”

Bursting through the doors to the floor section of the concert, the two sisters soon joined the others, the band, even though closer if they were seated in the bleachers, were still distant. But that didn’t matter, as the song reached them, filling their bodies with excitement, adrenaline and all around feely goodness. The drums set the beat, the wailings of the guitar filled the air, setting everyone into a trance, and most of all, the vocals of lead singer Rivers Cuomo lulled the audience. Some of the girls screamed, “I LOVE YOU RIVERS!!” or, “KISS ME!!!!” etc. But, the two sisters, standing in absolute silence, turned to each other, before grinning.

“Ooo wee ooo, I look just like buddy holly,” they crooned within the crowd, their voices lost within the volume of the music and band playing. But that didn’t matter. They were at a Weezer concert. Turning to each other, “Oh oh, and you’re Mary Tyler Moore!” Looking forward, they didn’t stop. “ I don’t care what they say about us anyway. I don’t care about that. I don’t care about that!” A second later, they faced each other once again, “Bam bang! Knocked on the door. Another big bang and you’re down on the floor. Oh no, what do I do? Don’t look now, but I lost my shoe. I can’t run and I can’t kick. Wussa matta babe? Are you feeling sick? Wussa matta wussa matta wussa matta you? Wussa matta babe? I’m feeling blue! oh-ohhhh.” Slowly turning away on the last word, as if practiced at home more than a couple of times.

Air guitar.

“Ooo wee ooo, I look just like buddy holly, Oh oh, and you’re mary tyler moore. I don’t care what they say about us anyway. I don’t care about that.” Letting the beat take over their bodies, dancing. “I don’t care about that. I don’t care about that. I don’t care about that!”

“Thank you,” said the lead singer, looking down somewhat, sounding somewhat over-polite as usual. The audience screamed louder, as hearing the lead singer talk plainly as such was very much a rarity. Ana slung an arm around her younger sister, bending down to talk into her ear.

“Still mad?”

Oh yeah.
All right.

Somebody’s heine is crowding my icebox.
Somebody’s cold one is giving me chills.
Guess I’ll just close my eyes.

Oh yeah.
All right.
Feels good.
Inside.

She turned to Ana, looking as if she was pondering it for a bit. She smiled, slinging an arm around her sister, “You’re just lucky we made it in time for Buddy Holly.” Then, as the guitar picked, up, the sisters turned their attention to the band before them. “SAY IT AIN’T SO-A-WHOAH-WHOA! YOUR DRUG IS A HEART BREAKER!!!”

An hour had to have gone by. But it didn’t feel as long. Singing song after song that the girls knew by heart, their faces all a smile. Then suddenly, darkness enveloped them. The girl looked around, and so did her sister. Surely that couldn’t have been the whole show, right? Suddenly, a spotlight hit the other side of the floor section. Who should happen to be under that spotlight, adorning an acoustic guitar, singing into the mic?

When you’re on a holiday…
You can’t find the words to say…
All the things that come to you..
And I wanna feel it too.

“Yvette, it’s Rivers!!” yelled Ana.

Yvette looked at her sister and grabbed her arm, “Let’s go!” And so they did, followed by many other Weezer fans from their section, following the sounds of the lead singer’s voice. Ana and Yvette had to dodge and move around the ones that stayed put, and had often been cut off from other fans that wanted to just be closer to the lead singer.

When you’re on a golden sea
You don’t need no memory
Just a place to call your own
As we drift into the zone

Finally arriving at their destination, they watched on, Rivers Cuomo, lead singer of Weezer, the voice in which both sisters had sung to on Cds and on the radio so many times, was close enough to touch. It was an amazing feeling for both of them. But… Something bothered Yvette. As she looked at the singer, she noticed something. Even though they were close to the audience, the lead singer had his eyes closed.

On an island in the sun
We’ll be playing and having fun
And it makes me feel so fine
I can’t control my brain

Singing along, idly, to the beautiful song, she couldn’t help but think… Was this his way of distancing himself from his fans? The thought of a shy rocker seemed so absurd and wrong. But… Weezer wasn’t a regular band, now were they? “We’ll run away together. We’ll spend some time forever. We’ll never feel bad anymore.” Now she, too, closed her eyes, and sang along. On an island in the sun. We’ll be playing and having fun. And it makes me feel so fine. I can’t control my brain,” She opened her eyes again, why did he look so nervous? It was as if he refused to open his eyes. To see the audience, to see people watching him, maybe?

We’ll run away together
We’ll spend some time forever
We’ll never feel bad anymore

He did something unexpected, however, as he stopped strumming his guitar, holding the mic to the audience. A gesture for the fans to sing. Multiple voices sang out, “We’ll never feel bad anymore. No, no. We’ll never feel bad anymore. No, no. No, no. No, no.” Then darkness enveloped them once more. Yvette couldn’t see anything at this point, however, as a sharp pain developed on her foot. She let out a yelp of pain, and thrust her hand out, grabbing a hold of an arm. She gave a glare in the darkness, slightly limping on her crushed foot. This man, whoever he was, had stepped on her foot. Hard.

“You stepped on my foot!” she cried.

“What?! Let go! I can‘t!” the man yelled, clearly not hearing her through the noise.

“You--Ugh.” She leaned over to his ear, talking directly on it, “You. Stepped. On. My. FOOT.” She felt his body freezing a bit. She rolled her eyes, “I know it’s dark… But FUCK it hurts like HELL.” Again, she felt his body froze a bit, and she felt his head turn as if to stare at her in disbelief. Suddenly, she felt his arm on hers, and his lips slightly grazed her ear. She didn’t want to, but… She felt herself shiver a bit because of that.

“I’m sorry!” he apologized. She turned her head, she didn’t know why, but… Her heart started to beat rapidly. She took a deep breath, he was so close, his grip on her shoulder still strong. Thump. Thump. Thump. She shook her head, the scent of his cologne filling her brain. Slowly, she let go of his arm, and she soon felt him leave her. She kept staring off in the direction he left, the lights coming back, and a thunderous boom soon followed. She looked up at the sky, strips of paper, confetti, was falling down towards them. Yvette looked to see Ana trying to desperately grab them, as Yvette reached up, and took a hold of one. As she looked at it, the official Weezer =W= sign was printed on it. She smiled, however… She soon looked off in the distance, her heart just starting to slow down in beats. Just… Who was that?

Meanwhile, backstage, lead singer Rivers Cuomo walked into the dressing room where the rest of his band mates were just beginning to rest. He saw that his acoustic guitar made it back here before he did. Taking a bottle of water, he opened it, sitting down, releasing a deep sigh and taking a much deserved drink. Singing for more than an hour made him thirsty as hell.

“Hey, what took you so long?” asked Brian Bell, laying down on a couch, feet up.

Rivers turned to Brian, shrugging sheepishly. “Oh. Well. Some girl got a hold of me…”

“Ooh. Another one claiming a Rivers baby?” supplied drummer Pat Wilson.

Brian pointed a finger at Rivers, “Did she flash you? I told you that other girl on our last show, did.”

Rivers looked slightly away, releasing a small laugh. “If she was, I probably blew it.” After a few seconds of silence from the others, and after another sip of his water, he explained, “I, uh… Stepped on her foot. She… Didn’t like that much.”

Scott Shriner couldn’t help but laugh. “That’s smooth, Rivers. Real smooth.”

He shrugged, “What can I say? I apologized for it, though…”

“All right, guys, awesome show! We’ll be here for an hour more, though, before we leave. Is that cool?” Karl Koch, web master and general media of Weezer, and best friend of course. He smiled, “Unless you want to get bats and beat off the girls, that is?”

Rivers smiled a bit, shaking his head, “We’ll wait.” He laid down on a sofa, the water gone already. He couldn’t wait to get home from this tour. But… Now his mind sort of wandered to that girl in the audience. Frankly, when he felt someone grab his shoulder, he had expected some rabid fan girl to grab a hold of him, press his head to her breasts and scream her love for him. That had become a normal occurrence, although he still wasn’t all that sure why. If anyone, he’d expect that to happen to Brian. He was the pretty boy in the band. But…. He definitely didn’t expect what had indeed happened. He put an arm behind his head, staring at the ceiling. She probably had no idea who I was…

Chapter One
“Sometimes I wanna pack it all up…”

Damn this place is huge….A now nineteen, soon to be twenty, year old Yvette said, wandering the campus grounds of the prestigious Ivy League school. Harvard University. She stopped for a moment, thinking over that train of thought. She was at… Harvard. Harvard University. In Cambridge, Massachusetts. Far, FAR away from the city of Angels back in California. She smiled, walking forward, in whatever direction she hoped was the right one. It was the month of June, almost July, in fact. It was the summer, and the weather was just… Perfect. LA was great, she guessed, but the weather was very unpredictable. It would be the summer… And it would rain. It was amazing it didn’t just SNOW one day. But the lack of snow was probably the only reliable thing about LA, now that she thought about it.

Ah, a building was up ahead. Surely this was dormitory. She looked at the slip of paper, then at the building. Her eyes searched and saw a man talking to someone, although the other man’s identity was concealed to her. A part of her felt nervous approaching people she didn’t know, but… Yvette was hoping to shed that part of her here. Walking toward the man, she cleared her throat, “Um… Excuse me. Am… I at the right building? I’m new here, so…”

The man turned to her, looking at the piece of paper and nodded with a smile, “Yeah, you’re at the right place…” His eyes traveled to her purse, and Yvette tilted her head a bit as he shook his head. The smile was soon gone, his face getting a stern expression. “This is the place. Excuse me.” He looked to his friend, who’s back was toward them, and they both walked off, leaving a very confused Yvette behind.

“….. Did I say something wrong?” Looking toward her purse, she wondered if she had something to be considered offensive? It was nothing but a Weezer sticker sewn. She shook her head, deciding to forget it and enter the building. A short, blonde girl was leaning just inside the door, absently smoothing the wrinkles on her shirt. At the sound of the door she lifted a bright green gaze to Yvette's face and smiled.

"Hey!”

She turned, hearing a voice reaching her, seeing the blonde girl. “Hm?”

“You wouldn't happen to be..." She paused to push her hair away from her face, then continued, "...um, Y...vette Santos, would you?" She gave a small laugh, almost sounding nervous.

She couldn't help but smile a bit as she attempted to say her first name. She nodded, "Yeah, that's me. Yvette. Heh. Don't worry, I've had people mispronounce it SO many times."

"Oh. Well that's...comforting,” giving a relieved sigh.

Then Yvette tilted her head, "Err... How do you know my name, by the way?" In a humorous tone, she added, "I'm not being stalked on my first day, am I?"

The girl laughed again, "Stalker? Me? Not yet." Her lips twitched into an amused grin. "I was told I was getting a new roommate, so here I am, the welcoming mat." The blonde offered her hand. "Marisa Renata."

She could help but chuckle. She immediately liked this girl, and she was very glad to hear that she would be Yvette's new room mate. Past worries that she would be stuck with a wicked wench of a room mate were vanished right there. She took her future roommate's hand, "Really nice to meet you. And thank God," if she had believed in the invisible man, "I thought I was gonna roam these halls completely clueless as to where my room is." She shrugged, "Just like I was in trying to find this damn building."

Marisa shook it with a warm grin, then let go. "Nah. We're one big happy family here! No one goes unchecked."

She thought that over for a moment. "No one? I... Don't know if that's a good thing or bad... But." She shrugged, "I'll try and be optimistic and think it a good thing. Even though, honestly, I'm not that big of an optimist."

Marisa’s gaze slowly traveled from Yvette's face and rested on her purse. "Uh oh. A Weezer fan, I presume?"

She blinked a bit, seeing that Marisa's eyes laid on the Weezer sticker on her purse. She released a small laugh, "My, my, however did you know? Aspiring detective?" She somewhat had an idea what was going to be asked next, but... She decided to play along until the question was asked.

Marisa tilted her head slightly, looking back up at Yvette's face. "You're not one of those psycho fans who forces their way into a program just 'cause Rivers is here, are you?" She laughed and blew her bangs out of her eyes. "But you don't seem like one. They're more all... 'Omigosh! BythewaywhereisRivers'dorm?!?' as soon as they arrive...and you haven't done that yet." She gave another good natured grin as she shoved her hands into the pockets of her sweatshirt.

At this, she gave out a laugh, "Oh, I KNEW you were going to go there!" Yvette smirked, "I joined this program because I wanted to. For myself. And really.... It would be my ONLY chance to say, 'Oh yeah. I went to Harvard, bitches.' And really... That's just about the coolest thing ever." She shrugged, "Considering my educational background, which, was NOT great..." She released a sigh, clutching her hands behind her back, "Yes, I am a Weezer fan. I love their music, I.. May own some b-sides and other rarities only available through the wonder that is the internet," then she looked at Marisa, and held a finger pointed at her, "But if anyone asks, I got those LEGALLY..."

Marisa smiled. "Ohh. Yeah, I have a band or two that compels me to cop their stuff off of the internet overseas...byebye money." She glanced at the floor for a moment, as if truly bidding her cash goodbye, then met Yvette's gaze again. "I hate school too. My parents decided to put me here." She shrugged and gave a lopsided smile. "Well, come on. Allow me to show you your lovely new home." She turned on her heel and made her way to the staircase.

"Ah.. I know how that feels. Along with Weezer... Well. I'm very much into anime and Japanese Dramas... Which leads to anime soundtracks... Japanese bands... And movies with Japanese actors and actresses from the dramas that I would watch and..." She released a heavy sigh, ".... Next thing I know a lot of money is spent. As if we're all on drugs...." .... Hm. That didn't exactly help with the not psychotic Weezer fan comment, did it? "Stuff like that are like crack, you know? You just gotta have it."

"You're a Japanophile, too?" Marisa inquired with a soft giggle, turning her head to peer at Yvette over her shoulder. "Yup, it's just like expensive crack...except more legal and all that."

She couldn't help but bow her head somewhat, almost apologetically, sort of not. "..You could say that."

"I'm a lover of Japanese music and art and all, no worries."

Yvette sort of nodded, glad that she wasn’t thought of liking a pop culture that wasn’t of her own ethnicity. Which… Was somewhat an issue back home. ….. Like a lot. However, she looked up at Marisa, as a comment her roommate had made just came back to her. "Wow, your parents sent you here? What's your major?"

Marisa pushed open the door to the second floor hall and held it open for Yvette. "I'm majoring in English and journalism."
She nodded her head, going through the door held open for her. She looked at Marisa, "Ah, English and journalism? Kick ass." Then, thinking that was probably inappropriate especially within the walls of Harvard University. "I mean. That's really great." But then, as she thought about it, "Fuck it, that's kick ass. How is it here? In Harvard, I mean? I always got the feeling it's endless work and all that..."

She started for the end of the hall, walking slowly enough so Yvette could keep pace beside her, laughing at her 'kickass' comment. "It's not as rough as one would think. There is the share of the stuck up nerd who are all serious about the stuff they do here, but we're mostly normal. There's a lot of work--at least in my classes. But it's not as awful as one would think, you know?”

Walking alongside her, she had to smile a bit, "You can never find people like that back in LA. All of them are just... Usually.... Well, loud. Obnoxious. And.. they all want to be rappers." She rolled her eyes, "Well. Most of them, anyway. Although that's really just my experience in high school... " She shrugged, "Although, community college did have some of those same kids there as well...." She sighed, "But... It doesn't seem like that here..."

"Never been off the east coast, but I think you get your fair share of wiggery people everywhere. Ah, here we are." Marisa stopped in front of a door and reached in her pocket for the key, then unlocked it and lead Yvette inside. "Home sweet home."

She smiled a bit, going inside the dorm room, some of her stuff had reached here before her it seemed. But, her eyes caught sight of the window, or rather, the view from the window. "Ah," She walked toward it, "Wow. Not to sound corny or anything, but... The view here. It's... Beautiful." She smiled a bit more, already she could see herself writing by the window, the view causing inspirations to her. She turned around to face Marisa, "I already love it here. Wish this program was longer, though."

She laughed, watching Yvette with a soft smile. "It really is a nice view. This is--arguably--the best dorm out there." She tilted her head, looking interested. "How long is your course?"

Yvette released a sigh, a somewhat frustrated sigh, "About... Eight weeks."

"Only eight weeks? Luuuuu~cky."

She shrugged, "I'm in the film program here. A workshop, really…”

She glanced at Yvette's face. "But you'd rather it be longer. Well, it's gotta be more fun than my classes."

She sighed, "I guess it should. Though... If it's only for eight weeks, I'd imagine a LOT of work has to be done in those eight weeks... And that gets me worried." She shrugged, "I'll just see how it goes." She released a small laugh, leaning against the wall, crossing her arms, "See. I wanna make them there purty motion pictures, ya see..." A redneck accent in her voice, before releasing a chuckle, while Marisa laughed at her impression. "Well. Script-writing is more my thing, but... I'm taking a film making course to better understand the process. You know. Get more involved in the movie project, and, if I do make a movie, and a member of the crew asks me a question about the scene, I won't just stare blankly and say, '......Uh. Sure. Go ahead.' You know?"

"Well, that sounds really neat. I wish you the best of luck!" She touched her hand to her forehead in a silly salute, taking on her own boonie accent. "Ah sure does wish Ah knews how they got them movin' pictures on mah tel-uh-vi-shun set."

She smiled at the mock salute, and laughed even more at to boonie accent. She was definitely going to like it here. "Thanks, I think I need all the luck I can get..." Moving to one of the two boxes that resided in the room, she started to unpack, looking at her purse, on the Weezer sticker, thinking back on
the guy that gave her such a strange expression after he saw it. She looked at Marisa, "People... Are gonna think I'm a crazed Weezer fan stalking Rivers Cuomo, aren't they?"

Marisa kicked off her sneakers and sat on the bed, crossing her legs and watching Yvette. "Yeah. Unfortunately. Any and all Weezer fans here are frowned upon, mostly. They're just taken to be here for Rivers and Rivers only. Then again..." She grinned slightly. "A lot of people ARE here for Rivers only...though they don't last that long, since they're not up to par."

She grinned, "Hahaha, that's WONDERFUL." Getting up to fill her closet of the clothes she brought with her, she sighed, "That would explain that guy..." She turned around, going to another box, "I asked this guy if I was at the right building... He smiled, he was nice! Then he saw the sticker and he just changed like he was in some mood swing like he was a guy through menopause..." She thought for a moment, looking up at her, "... I wonder if guys can have menopause?" She shook her head, "Bah. I can't help what I like. And taking out that sticker is a bit impossible, anyway. That thing's stuck. Nothing I could do..." She shrugged, "I guess I'll just avoid him these eight weeks. Though. I'm sure that's easy to do. I don't exactly bump into celebrities left and right."

"Yeah. Out of the two years I've been here...I've seen Rivers maybe..." She looked up contemplatively, tugging at her lower lip. "Four times, maybe? And I don't have the nerve to talk to him. I'd make an idiot out of myself." Marisa laughed. "Which brings me to a question, did you ever see celebrities in LA?"

She shook her head, "Nah. Well." She crossed her arms, looking to see her stuff, which was not much, settled, "When I was in soap operas a LONG... LONG time ago, I'd go to those fan events. But that didn't really count since their destination is known and all you have to do is show up." She smiled a bit, "My sister on the other hand... See. She used to work at the Roxy? She saw her fair share of celebrities, I'd say."

"I used to love soap operas! Until Soap Net died..."

She arched her eyebrow, she didn't expect Marisa to be an ex-soap opera fan. She shook her head, "Actually.. When I told her that I was planning on coming here, her first question was 'Doesn't Rivers go to Harvard?' " She shook her head, "Even my own blood sees me as the stalker type, I guess."

She giggled and smiled. "I see. I'm sure every Weezer fan who contemplates coming here is asked that question. And probably most of their answers are, 'Duh, why else would I go?' But bah, siblings."

She rolled her eyes, however, at the mention of Harvard Weezer fans. "Jesus... Those are like the girls at the concerts that yells, 'I love you, Rivers!!!' or... 'I want to marry you!' or something stupid like that." She shrugged, "Don't get me wrong, when I go to a concert, I get excited and all that. But... My excitement involves me singing to the songs. Not proclaiming my love for a guy I don't KNOW."

Marisa smiled. "They have nothing to lose, right? They're just a bunch of horny teenagers...what can you do?”

Yvette smiled, tilting her head, "You're right about that...."

She shrugged. "But sometimes I wonder if said fans are in it for the guys, rather than the actual music."

"Unfortunately... I don't know if people are really listening to music for the music anymore." She smirked a bit, shrugging, "How else can you explain the popularity of bands, no... Groups like NSYNC or... Worse..." She rolled her eyes, "O-Town." She shook her head, "What kind of name is that, anyway? O-Town? What? Is it a town in the shape of an O?"

She laughed. "O-Town...I remember them. But notice that those kinds of...'bands' never last long. They become...pedoraping terrorists or whatever. Only the good bands manage to keep it together."

Yvette let out a relieved sigh, “Thank GOD!” Before returning to sorting her stuff out. Already she was liking her somewhat new life here in Massachusetts.

Her first week went rather smoothly. Befriending three other students, she had quickly formed a “crew” within the class, working on each other’s scripts, switching positions, and working to make each of their projects the best they could be. There was Meiko Watanabe, a girl from Japan that was shy, but was hell bent on not being stepped over. Which, Yvette really admired, and had put the Japanese she had learned back in LA in the community college she went to in good use. Sean LeBowski, a chubby white boy from Pennsylvania who was so random and out there, and all around funny and witty as hell, that Yvette felt drawn to a friendship with him. Although sometimes she would question it… And last, but not least, there was Samuel Kim, an American born Korean. Although he had come to the nick name “Sam-Shik” after one of the main characters of Yvette’s favorite Korean drama, My Name is Kim Sam Soon. He was by far, the one most girls would look at, the pretty boy of the group. They were all somewhat similar, but their tastes in movies somewhat differ.

Meiko was deeply into comedy romance, the feel of Japanese influence was heavy in her film, which was very refreshing, Yvette thought. Sean was into gore, heavy into gore and suspense, which, at times made Yvette ponder his sanity, and yet when reading his scripts, she couldn’t tear her eyes away. Sam-Shik was into action and fight scenes, which, while not a favorite of Yvette, still got her interested to see how Sam-Shik would play it out. All in all, she was happy with her Crew-family. As for Yvette’s taste… It was all about the music.

“That montage you did was really good,” Meiko said, in the classroom.

Yvette smiled a bit sheepishly, “Really? Thanks!” She cleared her throat, “Demo…. Maa… Hontou ni ii desu ka?” ( “But… Ah… Is it really that good?” )

“Hontou ni!” Meiko smiled, “Atashi daisuki da yo! Hontou ni sugoi yo…” ( “Really! I love it! It’s really cool…” )

Yvette smiled a bit and nodded, “Arigatou, Meiko-chan.” ( “Thanks, Meiko.” )

Meiko returned the smile, “Daijoubu!” ( “It’s all right!” )

“Oh shit, they’re speaking Japanesy, again,” said Sean coming toward them, pointing at Yvette, “You’re not Japanese, damnit!”

She rolled her eyes, “And you’re not the pretty boy in the group, yet you act like you are.” Which caused Meiko to chuckle a bit.

“Hey. You know my voice is sexy.”

Yvette made a face, “… if your voice is sexy… No. No, it just isn’t.” She looked at the door, “Ah, Sam-Shik!”

He looked up and waved a hand in the air, carrying a letter in his hand. As he walked toward them, he had a grin on his face, “Another adoring fan of mine.”

Yvette rolled her eyes, then looking at Sean added, “Now see. Him? He has a sexy voice.”

Sam-Shik looked up, reading the letter, “…Hm?”

Meiko looked up, “Ah. Sensei koko da.”

Sean looked up, confused as hell, looking at them as if they were mad. Yvette sighed, “The teacher’s here.”

He rolled his eyes, “Fuck, I know that, he’s here, isn’t he?”

“Then sitting down would be a good idea, wouldn’t it?” the teacher said, causing a startled Sean to fall on his chair, which caused the group to turn away and have a chuckle. “Good. Now, about our next project…”

Yvette leaned over to Sean, “That was REAL smooth. You’ll get the pussy NOW…”

“Fuck you.”

“Somehow I sense fucking just isn’t in your future…”

“I know that most of you have gotten used to using music already produced, and is widely available to you,” the teacher began, “But, that ends here.”

Yvette looked up, “…what?”

“Now that we’re getting into the biggest project this term,” he continued, “The 2-hour maximum movie. In color. And for that… I want you all to use original music.” He held his hands up to silence the objection the rest of the students have, “Come on, come on. If you want to make films, you have to overcome more obstacles than this. Not everything is going to be easy, you know. If you can get over this obstacle, you can do anything. Oh, and Yvette?”

“…Yes, sir?” She had taken a liking to using Sir a lot.

“About your script, I made some suggestions and I’d like you to type it over again. Get it ready by tomorrow.” Yvette opened her mouth to protest, but couldn’t find the words, as she blankly stared at the script given back to her, practically covered in red ink. “I’d suggest scouting for local bands in the area… And I don’t want to see two people using the same band. Good luck to you all.”

Sam-shik looked at them all, “… Original music?”

Meiko bit her lower lip, “How are we going to do that?”

Sean sighed, “Most of the bands I’ve seen are punk. Not good punk, either. Who the fuck wants to hear some punk-ass music while someone’s getting cut slowly and painfully that the screams are just--”

“Gah, shut up,” Yvette cut him off. She thought for a moment, then turned to them, “I got an idea. Tomorrow. In the middle of campus, in the afternoon. Here’s what we’re gonna do….”

During that afternoon, the five students, four of them including Yvette and her fellow crew members were divided into different sections of the Harvard campus, giving out flyers and multiple sections of the script, and the fifth member of this was Marisa, who Yvette had pleaded to help her doing this. So far, it went well. There were no definite plans being made, music-wise, but... At least she didn't see anyone throw the flyers in the trash afterward. She turned to Marisa and smiled, "Thanks for helping me out...."

Marisa stuck out her tongue but smiled good-naturedly. "You're lucky I like you, 'cause this is boring as hell."

She smiled, letting out a cough, "Well, if you didn't party all night last night...." She winked, obviously teasing. Although she wished she had joined in, but, upon request of her instructor, she needed to re-write the script she was pushing for a musician of SOME kind to work with the crew for a soundtrack of this damn movie. As she turned her back toward Marisa's direction, she went toward random people that came across their way the very practiced speech.

She yawned as she shoved a flyer at some random person's chest. "I could be taking a nap right now..."

An older, however short in stature, man came walking closer to the two girls. His hands tucked into his pockets, he didn't really noticed them, until one of them had shoved a flyer at his chest, which made stop in his tracks and grab the flyer before it fell to the ground. He arched an eyebrow and gave a curious look between his black framed glasses, looking at Marisa. "... Uh. This is...?" He asked, his voice somewhat taken a back at this.

Marisa, who had been examining an hangnail, glanced back up again. "It's something about musicians starring in an--oh." She stared up at man, shocked realization tightening in her stomach. She shook her head, cleared her throat, hoped her face wasn't TOO red, and continued. "Starring in a student film," she managed without stuttering horribly.

He blinked a bit, seeing how her attitude changed so silently. But, as he thought of the reason, his expression changed as well. He looked down, reading the flyer. Music for a soundtrack for a student film? He released a sigh, lifting a hand to travel through his hair. There was a script attached, he saw. But... Seeing this reaction really sent him in an uneasy situation, for him, at least. "Oh. Starring in a student film. Your film?" He wasn't quite sure why he asked, but, maybe what he was feeling was a misunderstanding of some sort. Maybe she wasn't just some crazed Weezer fan that will soon pounce him in the middle of campus.

Marisa shook her head, allowing her hair to curtain her face. "No. I'm just helping out a friend." She lifted her face and gestured to Yvette. "Her and the rest of them. It's their film." She laughed quietly. "I'm sure you're just the musician they're looking for, too."

He looked toward the other girl, only her back being shown. Well, so far it seemed okay. He turned his head to see other students handing out the same flyers. He looked back at the girl in front of him, nodding somewhat. Well, it was definitely clear that the girl knew him, and of his band. He was still undecided on whether this was a good thing or not, however. On her last comment, his eyes sort of shifted somewhat. They were fans, that was for sure now. But, maybe they weren't those girls that came to Harvard just in hopes to see him. He definitely didn't need that. He offered a small smile, "Um... Introduce me?"

"Introduce you? 'kay." Marisa smiled--surprise, surprise, the famous Rivers seemed just as ordinary and everyday as an...ordinary and everyday person! She turned and tugged on Yvette's shirt. "Oh Yvette~"

Rivers smiled a bit, at least she seemed to have calmed down a bit. He sort of followed her toward the girl, Yvette, who seemed to have a more upbeat tone to her voice, as she basically said the same thing over and over.” Are you a musician or know of a musician that would like to participate in a student film? If so, please take this flyer and a sample of script, thank you." He shook his head a bit, but... He had noticed her voice sounded oddly... Familiar.

Yvette felt her shirt being tugged, hearing Marisa's voice, oddly upbeat. She looked over her shoulder, "Yeesss?" And as her eyes traveled toward the man beside Marisa, she blinked. That.... He.... Looked.... Very familiar. Too familiar. In fact.... ".... Oh shit." Wait, wait. Did she just...? ".... Oh shit." .... Damn it!

… That was when it clicked for him. Now he knew why her voice sounded familiar.

“Jesus, just started screaming and jumping on you in the middle of class?”

“…. Yeah. Jesus… I thought I’d get away from that crap when I came back here,” said Rivers.

“Jesus, man. You get all the ladies.”

“Tch… Just not the ladies I want. I get groupies that just want the lead singer of Weezer. Never for me. I swear, the next girl I see wearing anything with the band’s name--” Too late. He turned around sharply, causing some confusion with his friend, hearing the girl approaching them speak.

“Um… Excuse me. Am… I at the right building? I’m new here, so…” Just go away, he thought.

“Yeah, you’re at the right place…” Rivers heard his friend say. Just go away. Don’t see me. I don’t want this. He said mentally to her. Just send her away. “This is the place. Excuse me.”

Rivers felt a hand on his back, that of his friend, and together they walked away from the girl. He looked over his shoulder and saw she went inside the building, and that was when he let out a breath of relief. “… Thanks.”

Marisa smiled very sweetly and gestured to Rivers. "Rivers, meet Yvette. Yvette, Rivers!" She looked thoroughly pleased with her little surprise for Yvette, and the expression on Yvette's face told her it was definitely worth it. This, snapping Rivers out of his memories. He no longer had a smile, his body was tense, and he took in a deep breath.

This was a mistake.

Yvette looked at Marisa, somewhat smirking, but slightly glaring. She was enjoying this a bit TOO much, in her opinion. ".... I see." She fully turned around, crossing her arms. She tried to get a hold of the situation. Okay. Rivers Cuomo of Weezer is in front of her. Flyer in hand. Which.... She looked at Marisa, ".... He's interested for the student film?"

“Was interested,” he answered.

She blinked, looking to the lead singer, the look he gave her made her take a step back. "....what?"

He let out a frustrated sigh, crumbling the flyer. "I was interested. But... It's obvious where your priorities lay. "I didn't come to Harvard to be harassed by.... Groupies." The way he said that last word was so full of disgust, he was somewhat surprised himself. But, he meant it. He was tired of these girls. He looked at Yvette, "What? You were standing out here, doing this and involving other people, just waiting for a glimpse of the fuckin' Rivers Cuomo of Weezer? Don't you feel guilty about the students here that are here to seriously learn and not follow around someone they haven't even met before?" He shook his head, "You won't last long."

Yvette’s jaw tightened. “Like this is something you’ll be good at? You think you’ll actually get through this? Come on, Yvette… You won’t last long.” Marisa blinked, then frowned. "Hey, hey. If the bunch of us wanted to sit out here and meet you, wouldn't we hold up signs going 'RIVERS LET ME BEAR YOUR CHILDREN!' and all that? Come on. It's a STUDENT PROJECT. Read the flyer. Gosh." She crossed her arms. "Stop being so mean."

Rivers rolled his eyes. "The film program, right? So you didn't have to work that hard to get in here." He shook his head, he should have known. How many times has this happened? He had thought Harvard would serve as a sanctuary from stuff like this. He was just a guy, a regular guy, yet he got hounded by girls that thought of him as this Rock Star God or something. He was about to leave when he heard her speak.

"Didn't work hard?"

Rivers turned to look at her, somewhat surprised at the angry expression on her face. …Wow.

By this time, the rest of her crew had went closer to where Yvette was, but feeling the tenseness in the air, they decided to stay back for a moment. Yvette didn’t even noticed they were there.

"You're saying I just came here, got in this program, just like that? No problem at all?" She took a deep breath, walking closer to him. "You think it was that easy for me?" She shook her head, "Just as I don't know anything about you, you know NOTHING about me." She took a step back, taking a deep breath. "Let me clue you in on a few things. When I was in high school? I didn't graduate. I fucked up in high school, in fact. So I spent an extra year making up credits to get my damn diploma, which, guess what? Wasn't easy." She rolled her eyes, "But I managed to do it... My parents were amazed I did it within a year."

She smiled a bit bitterly, "They were expecting that I'd fail so many times that it'd take me FIVE years to get that diploma. Isn't that lovely?" She let out a small laugh, "I wanted to make films for a long while... But I always kept it from my family, even my sister who I was just SO close to... Afraid of what they might say." She shrugged, "They weren't exactly up for creative careers. Hell. They doubt I'd actually I'd actually get a career!"

She shook her head, "Then I found out about the program, I wanted to do it. So... So much." She pressed her lips together, "So. I had to tell them. And BOY, did they like it. 'You'll just waste money!' they said, 'Harvard? You didn't graduate high school the first time, you think you'll be good at Harvard?' my mother said. 'You won't last long there. Making movies? That's just stupid!' she said again. It didn't matter how hard I worked to save enough money on jobs, and considering it's in MASSACHUSETTS. Oh. No... Not with my family that wouldn't go to a place that's twenty miles away, oh no! That's just too far."

She laughed suddenly, looking up for a moment. "But you know what was really fucked up? The fact.... That..." Her voice started cracking a bit, "That.... The only faith... They had in me? Of my future... Was to get a 9 to 5 job...." She shook her head once again, "They just.... They just didn't believe I'd accomplish anything.... That my dreams and aspirations are just... Worthless. That's the worst." She looked up at him, a bitter smile on her face, "So. You know. It wasn't easy to get here. But I did it. And it wasn't all about you, Rivers Fuckin' Cuomo. And if you still think that?" She took a deep breath, "You can go fuck yourself. Marisa, let's go." She pushed passed him, not caring about the music for the film right now.

The other students stared on in astonishment at Yvette's outburst. Marisa's eyes were a little wide herself--she had never heard of the extent of Yvette's troubled high school days. Nevertheless, she made a nasty face in River's direction. "Prick," she snapped before following after her roommate.

He felt…. Frozen. Throughout the whole thing he felt… Frozen. His eyes were distant. He felt more people walking toward him, their feelings of anger.

“She works really hard everyday. And always has a great result of that hard work. Egotistical bastard,” said Meiko.

“I don’t like Weezer. Hate them, in fact. So I never understood why she liked you guys so much. But fuck, you’re a real bitch. I really hope she wises up,” said Sean.

“This is her dream. She doesn’t only work hard for herself, but she helps anyone to achieve that same dream she aspires. So you’re wrong. She will last. I can’t say the same for you,” said Sam-Shik.

He could feel them leave his sight then. His jaw was tight, and he could feel a tightness in his throat. Her words kept ringing in his head, or mostly… The anger in her words. It was clear he was wrong… Horribly wrong. His hand was clutching something, and he slowly looked down, seeing a sample of a script. Her script. Taking a deep, shaky breath, he held it in front of him, his eyes looking over the sample of work. He felt his body relax a bit, taking in the words, absorbing them. But most importantly… As he read… Guitar came to his head… He could see the scene perfectly in his mind, and along with that… He heard it.

His music.

His eyes faltered to the ground, then closing. I’m such an idiot.

Yvette didn't say anything on the walk to the dorm room. Her mind was in a somewhat frenzy, and along the way, she kept picking at the Weezer sticker on her purse, in a desperate attempt to take it off. But, it came to no avail. That thing was stuck, she got so frustrated with it that when she HAD reached the dorm room, she took it off and just threw it on her bed. Taking deep breaths, she just sat down on her bed, "That.... ASSHOLE!" was all she could manage at the moment.

Marisa stood against the wall, nodding. "Yeah. He was." She gave an agitated shrug and reversed the direction of her head, shaking it now. "I guess it never fails. All famous people turn out to be self-centered assholes in the end."

She gave a bitter laugh, "Tch, yeah." Then, looking back at the incident, she looked down, "Damn it..." She looked at Marisa, ".... I... I totally blew up, didn't I? I mean..." Biting the inside of her cheek, "...Jesus. I just basically told the whole campus about my family and that I was a high school drop out. ... Fuck, how embarrassing..."

She gave her a reassuring smile, waving her hand. "Hey, I wouldn't worry about it." Putting her hands on hips, she continued, "I'll bet everyone will forget about it tomorrow. Even if they don't...I mean, what will they do? It's not like it's anything worth spreading rumors and crap about."

She laid down on her bed, turning her head toward Marisa. She did have a point.... She sighed, pushing down her purse, not caring about the contents in the purse. She just couldn't see anything with Weezer on it. "... Guess you're right. Still a bit embarrassing, though."

Marisa paused for a moment, then grinned. "That was pretty cool, though. You totally gave Rivers the verbal bitchslap."

Yvette couldn't help but laugh, "Haha! Jesus... " Putting an arm across her eyes, head towards the ceiling, "You know what was weird? I don't even know why I did that..." Uncovering her eyes, she faced her, "I mean... I'm used to hearing stuff like that from my parents and all... Mostly Mom, but..... I don't know. When he said it.... Gah! I don't know. Just.... Something snapped." She shook her head, "It just... Got to me. God, that had to be the first time I talked about that kind of stuff. In public, too."

"But it was still awesome." Marisa took a seat on her own bed, covers still unmade, and hugged her knees to her chest. "I mean, if he's worth the cost of concert tickets, it should make him think a little bit. Snap him out of his 'Ohh no, I'm rich and famous and now no one leaves me alone, my life sucks!' mindset thing he's got going."

She smiled a bit, feeling much better than she did a few minutes ago. "That is true. He deserved it, that's for sure." She shook her head, "God... I can't believe I was a fan to someone like that. It makes you think, doesn't it? Who knew that he was such an ass." For a few minutes, she just shook her head, re-evaluating herself as a Weezer fan. Just as she did that, she heard a knock on the door. She tilted her head, "... I wonder who that could be?" Getting up from the bed, she went towards the door, opening it, and immediately not liking what, or rather who she saw.

Rivers stood before her, bowing his head a bit, “… I--”

Biting the inside of her cheek, "Stalker." And shut the door. Looking at Marisa, "Guess who?" Hearing another knock, she rolled her eyes, "Can you take care of it?"

Marisa blinked at her. "...Rivers came? How the--how does he even KNOW where our dorm is?"

All Yvette could manage was a shrug, "I don't know. Maybe he asked around, I don't know, just get him away from here.” Sitting down on the bed, she looked away, refusing to look in the direction of the door.

Shaking her head, she got up and opened the door. "What do you want now, Sir Stick-up-ass-a-lot?"

Rivers shifted his feet a bit, holding a hand behind his back. He cleared his throat, "...I.... Uh." He tried to look past Marisa, and it was obvious how much he was hated at the moment. Not that he blamed them, but.... Now he felt so guilty. ".... I want to see Yvette. I.... Want to apologize." Looking past Marisa again, to the furious girl on the bed. "... I didn't know. I mean... I shouldn't have said what I said.... And...." He took out what he was holding behind his back, which turned out to be flowers. ".... I'm sorry." Her eyes were hard, unforgiving. .... However, when she heard him talk.... Against her best judgment, she found her expression softening. She didn't want it to, but... It did.

Marisa blinked, staring at the bouquet in his hand. "You got her...flowers?" She glanced at Yvette. "He got you flowers. You want them?"

Her head turned sharply. "What? Flowers?" She shifted a bit, no one ever got her flowers before. Even if they were from someone that was, in her book, a grade A ASSHOLE....

Marisa turned back to Rivers. "Wait, why don't -I- get flowers!? You were mean to me too! Go away!" She slammed the door in his face and gave Yvette a cheerful smile. "Problem solved."

Yvette couldn’t help but smile, "Ah," she cried out somewhat. She had to laugh a bit, standing up. "Hold on... Gah. Maybe I'm a bit too nice for my own good, but... Let's hear what he has to say, I guess..." She went to the door and opened and.. Found Rivers dividing the bouquet of flowers into two, as he saw the door opened, his body straightened and offered the now two bouquet of flowers to the two girls. Yvette took a deep breath, then shook her head, "No. You're doing it wrong."

Rivers arched a brow, looking at the flowers, obviously confused. .... But he was somewhat glad she was talking to him, at least. ".... What do you mean?"

Yvette looked at Marisa, with a slight smirk, hidden by Rivers, then turned back to him. "Don't you know? When a man gives flowers to a woman, maybe two, for forgiveness over something.... STUPID he did or say.... He has to be on his knees."

Marisa, who had been smiling in bright amusement over Rivers splitting up the bouquet, caught Yvette's expression and returned the smirk, turning back to Rivers. "Yeah. With your hands all clasped together and your eyes cast downward in respect."

Rivers looked at the both of them, then looked around the hallway he was in. There was plenty of people around. ".... Here?"

Yvette shrugged, "What's wrong? If you don't do it, then we won't believe you're really sorry. I mean.. You were really an ass." Looking to Marisa, she added, "Right?"
Rivers looked around nervously, "But... There's people here...."

Yvette rolled her eyes, "Forget it, then. You're obviously not sorry for what you did." Just as she was about to shut the door...

"Wait!" Rivers called out, causing Yvette to look at him, eyebrow arched. Rivers paused for a moment, somewhat making a face, looking around, then giving a frustrated sigh, he went down on his knees, eyes down, and raised the flowers above his head. "... I'm sorry!"

Yvette smirked brightly, looking at Marisa, then tried her best to not laugh and rid the smirk as she took the flowers. Roses, even. ".... That will do, I guess...."

Marisa sniffed the roses briefly and nodded. "Yup! Just like a gentleman should." She gave Yvette a thoroughly amused look, then turned back to Rivers and patted his head. "Good boy! There's hope for you yet."

Rivers looked up, his eyes shifting a bit, ".... Great." He stood up, dusting off his pants, then looking at them. "... Am I forgiven?" Yvette looked at him, somewhat admiring the flowers. She shrugged.

"...Maybe."

He hid a small smile, looking down. "Maybe...." Putting his hands into his pockets, he cleared his throat. ".... I read.... Some of your script..."

Yvette looked up, "...what?"

He looked at her, "...Maybe.... If you're still looking for someone to do the music for it... It's a really great script, I have to say. And.... Maybe... I could...."

Yvette shifted a bit, thinking about it. "...... You do owe me."

Rivers looked up, nodding some, ".... Yeah, I do. I'm really--"

"Fine. You're in."

Rivers smiled, nodding, "Great... Thanks. You won't regret it. Really." He nodded to Marisa, then back at Yvette, "Thank you." Yvette gave a small shrug and went back into her room. Rivers nodded somewhat, then waved, "I'll... See you around, I guess. Bye." Then, as he turned on his heel, he left.

Yvette went over this in her mind for a while, then stared at the roses in her hands. "..... What just happened?"

"...well. Rivers came and knocked on the door, and you were like 'Go away!', and then I was like 'GO AWAY!' and he was like all persistent, so we answered the door to him, made him get on his knees and gives us both flowers, and now he's in your film." Marisa grinned and nodded a bit.

She laughed. "After I verbally bitchslapped him, you forgot that part." She smirked, then as her lap top was in view, she grinned, "I have to email my sister...." Her grin growing a bit more, "She'll HATE me. " Then turning back to Marisa, she smiled widely,” I can't wait to tell her."

Marisa gave her two thumbs up. "Wonder if she'll believe you?"

She shrugged, starting to type the email, "Doubtful. I'm not all quite sure I believe it myself..." She paused and looked at the flowers and smiled, "... I never got flowers before. He's my first."

She gave a very wide grin. "Your FIRST, huh."

She looked at her, "Yep, my first." Then, after a moment, ".....what?"

Marisa's face became all innocence. "Nothing at all..."

She eyed her suspiciously, "..... Uh-huh...."

Marisa waved her hand. "Have fun with your email. I gotta go to class." With a parting grin, she slung her books over her shoulder and headed for the door.

Yvette shook her head, going back to her lap top, typing.

Ana, guess who I met today….
