Background: Elizabeth has a great life. A mom (Peyton) and dad (Noah) that love her. A younger brother (Aaron- and younger sister (Dana-5) that look up to her. An older sister (Haley-20) that she looks up to, or at least she had looked up to.

Elizabeth lives to be on stage, it's really the only place that she had ever really been able to express herself. It's the only place that she isn't her usual shy self. She was on the stage the night her older sister had died. Haley had been on her way to see Elizabeths debut on stage when her car swerved off the road into a ditch. Elizabeth had been angry at Haley for not showing up, but when she found out what happened, she felt lost and as though it had been her fault.

After her sisters death her family seemed to slowly fall apart. Her dad was working more, and her mom was drowning her sorrows in alcohol. Elizabeth felt she had be strong for her parents and younger siblings. She tried her hardest to ignore the fact that her perfect family wasn't so perfect anymore.

One day out of the blue her father announced that they were going to be moving. Elizabeth knew it was probably for the best, her parents wanted to leave the place that held the memories of their oldest child. But Elizabeth didn't want to leave the place she had called home her whole life. She didn't want to leave her friends behind.

Three months after Haley died, Elizabeth and her family had packed up and left the place that had been home for so long. Elizabeth was afraid of moving. She was afraid of what people would think of her, and whether or not she would fit in. She was also afraid of losing her sisters memory.

Looks: Ayame is fairly tall for full Japanese, standing closer to an ordinary British height. He has pale skin, delicately Asian features, and a slender build. His unusually blue eyes are framed by long, dark lashes, and sometimes a corner of eyeliner. His hair falls just past his earlobes, and is cut in a rakish, unkempt style so that it often is in his eyes. It is ordinarily a very dark brown, nearly black, but he is currently of the blonde trend, bleaching his hair to gold-tinged platinum.

His fashion statement is eccentric, to say the least. He strays from one trend to another, one day wearing jeans and a polo shirt, the next wearing baggy black pants and a fishnet shirt. He particularly likes suit jackets, whether they’re with matching trousers or a pair of khakis. When he’s feeling particularly entertaining, he wears traditional Japanese clothing. He’s a bit of a history buff, so he has a collection of historical Japanese clothes, and is constantly lamenting on the lack of money to buy more.

Background: Ayame is an exchange student from Morioka. His father is a doctor, and his mother a homemaker/graphic designer. He has a younger sister, Riko, and several cats. He chose to come to school in the US more on a whim than anything, having already spent a year in England several terms prior. He doesn’t quite understand the American system, and often has trouble with his classes. Though fluent in English, he stumbles over words, and breaks out in Japanese when he’s frustrated or can’t remember what to say in English.

He plans to return to Japan at the end of the school year, unless he decides to stay over the summer. This partly depends on how long his host family decides to keep him, and how much he likes it in an American school.
