Title: Tru Calling

Tru / Davis

Tru walked into the office, waiting for Davis or Jack to enter. Another day of work, in more ways than one. Boy did her days get weirder and weirder by each passing day with each passing case.

Davis walked in just then as Tru was in the middle of her thoughts.

"Good Morning," he said.

Lindsay walked into the cafe. She took at seat at one of the booths. She was supposed to meet Harrison her but knowing him he probably won't show and would have some lame excuse why. Lindsay sighed. She smiled at the waitress when she handed her a menu.

Lindsay browsed through the menu, not really sure what she felt like. Harrison you better show. Lindsay thought.

Jack

For a man of Fate, you'd think that Jack would have a better life than the one he lead. But ever since he stepped out the front door of his apartment building this morning, things had been going wrong. He'd ruined the rather expensive pair of patent leather shoes his mentor, Richard Davies, had gifted him with on his birthday by stepping into a very large rain puddle. Then, when he'd gone back in to change them, he'd literally bumped into his landlady, Mrs Crabtree, as she was leaving the laundry room with a basket of clean whites. Their collision had sent clothing everywhere and, by the death-glare she'd given him when he'd gone to help her pick everything up, he didn't think he should expect to get away with paying his rent late this month. And the sad truth was, Fate didn't pay very well.

Perhaps this was all some sort of job evaluation. Their way of telling him that he hadn't been doing a very good job lately. With Tru's interference it had become harder and harder for the universe's design to play out as it was meant to. The more she messed with the order of things, the more tangled and complicated it became. The consequences of even the first person she'd saved were still being felt to this day, in fact. Jack felt the pressure building as his day progressed. Something had to be done.

The whimsical music of a carousel reached Jack's ear as he neared the pier...

{OOC Note: Sorry about my first post. I misunderstood what you had written for Tru/Davis. All better now I hope.}

~Harrison~

Harrison glanced at his watch as he parked his car. Damn it! He was late....again. And he was pretty sure Lindsey would be far from happy with him.

He walked into the cafe and quickly spotted her, moving to sit in front of her.

"Hey baby," he said, in his usual charismatic way as he leaned across the table, giving ehr a kiss on the cheek, before sitting down in front of her.

Just act like you don't know you're late. Then maybe she won't bust you for it.

~Meredith~

Meredith didn't have very much time for a lunch break today, but she couldn't resist the urge to indulge in a cup of coffee before returning to the office.

Work had been particularly stressful lately, so maybe she'd indulge in something else too, later. All she ahd to do was keep it a secret, hide it, hope they didn't have a random drug test anytime soon.

She sat down at a table by the water with her steaming hot drink.

The way it was almost too hot and burned ehr throat felt oddly reassuring.
